Centaurs and Kithkins VS. The Phyrexians (CLOSED)

This is a challenge where you will make any combination of 4 Centaur, Kithkin and Phyrexian cards.

Story:
In the plane of Eriaphel, the Kithkins and Centaurs always would stay separate. There was never a war, but the Kithkins and Centaurs were never friendly, and would keep the other tribe out of their own. That was until the Phyrexians came. They came out of nowhere, and attacked the Kithkins first. The Centaurs kept out of the war, but then the Phyrexians surprised the Centaurs. The Centaurs and Kithkins made an uneasy alliance, fighting alongside the other only when they had to.

Rules:
• You are allowed to change your card any amount before the contest ends
• You can only use an original card that you made and that was made specifically for this contest.
• You may only enter any combination of 4 Centaur, Kithkin, and Phyraxian cards(so 1 Centaur, 2 Kithkin and 1 Phyrexian or 2 Kithkin, 2 Centaur and 0 Phyrexian or 3 Centaur, 0 Kithkin and 1 Phyrexian, etc)
• You can only make Creature Cards.
• Your card should line up with the story.

Rewards:
1st: I will follow you, favorite 5 cards of your choice, and you get to choose an honorable mention.
2nd: I will follow you and favorite 3 cards of your choice.
3rd: I will follow you and favorite 2 card of your choice
Honorable Mention(s): I will follow you.

The contest is ending August 16th, 2016 (14 days from the time this was uploaded)

    Questions:

    1. I feel like we should be sticking to the traditional White and/or Green thematic for both Kithkin and Centaurs. This feels a little odd since they don't really jive (storywise). Should we be doing G/W?
    2. Desired Set Symbol?
    3. Phryexians in Grixis perhaps?
  • @Faiths_Guide 's Kithkin Key Keeper: It's a really nice card, effectively tapping the opponent's creatures, plus a little more. I really like the alliteration, too.
    In response to your questions:
    1. The cards may be any color, though I was thinking Kithkin should be mainly white with a little green, and vice versa for centaurs.
2.I have no desired set symbol. Just use your favorite.
    3. Yes, the phyrexians should be in Grixis, since the Kithkins and Centaurs are in G/W.

@mtgwizard9003 's Thamous, Bane of Phyrexia: The card is pretty cool mechanics-wise, but is a little shaky flavor wise. How did he become this bane of phyrexia? And what are his motivations? It would be nice if you gave me some context in the form of flavor text, or if you're feeling up to it, write me a little story.

Thanks @Faiths_Guide for pointing out Kithkin's existance. They really are similar to the halflings/hobbits I adore. I'll think this one through!

Apparently Kithkins follow the line of mostly white (sometimes Boros), splashing a bit of green and blue now and then.
  • Here's a card that pretty phyrexian. Mostly.

If we need a backstory, I can write one.
  • @Lujikul : If it would not be much trouble, yes I would like a story, as I am very interested in how the kithkins and centaurs captured this guy.
  • My first entry. Flavor text presents a little background regarding the little Kithkin Nomad.

  • Any more entries?
  • I will have my 4th entry at the end of the day
  • I am Not done either. I will upload 4 until the 16th.

Here we go; Second entry! A non-G/W Kithkin, agressive against most and fond to mechanical bodies in that regard.

And third. A quite distractful centaur whose horseshoes are constantly lost, requiring help from those able to reach down there.

  • I edited Clumsy Hooves in order to fix irregular text (costs don't target, has to be another creature that is untapped).
  • @mtgwizard9003 's Phyrexian Rampager: This card seems really bad. You pretty much have to pay the life for the phyrexian mana or else the card is absolutely useless. And when you do pay the life, it's 4 mana, 4 cards, and a creature for a 5/5 with trample and haste.

@Faiths_Guide 's Brightsteel Galloper: It's a really neat card, as it's just a 2 mana 2/2 trample with a little upside. It's a good common, and really well made.

@Yururu 's Tenderfoot Traveler: Again, a nice common with a good upside. The abilities seem like they would most help if the Traveler were buffed up. I feel like it would fit in some sort of pauper enchantments deck.

@Yururu 's Frontline Squealer: It's a really good card, probably best in control sideboards against tokens. It seems really obnoxious to have to deal with, just like the creature would be in real life. Also, I really like the flavor text.

@Yururu 's Clumsy Hooves: It seems a little too good for an uncommon. Considering there's a 0 mana creature(Memnite), you could untap it the second it enters the battlefield, taking out the downside altogether. Then you have more upside because you can use the ability for any time he's tapped.

@Mila 's Centaur Huntress: It seems way too good since you can put this card in a deck that has a lot of buff in it. Really, just giant growthing it while you have threshold activated is gamebreaking.
  • @DragonFaceEater I didn't take that into account. You might be right, but I have to think of that. Since I can chanche that card before this contest ends, I might do that.

I thought about it and if you compare the specific threshold ability to double strike, it's completely ok to leave it like that.
  • @DragonFaceEater Thanks a lot for the feedback! I gotta think through before making cards on low CMC not to go overboard. So, about Clumsy Hooves.

That combo with a 0 CMC Creature card... Seems pretty okay to me. Those are usually weak cards which are very rarely put in a deck, only if supported by shenanigans such as this (or in Ornithopter/Memnite's case, artifact shenanigans).

Would I get slightly moody if an opponent pulled it off? I would. But enemies mana-curving perfectly always did it for me anyways.

There's also the downside that it will require you to tap another creature you control in order to untap it every time, even after the early strategy plays out. The card's idea is basically "doesn't work alone."

On stat line, nowadays 1 mana minions follow a 1/2 or 2/1 pattern. Your example is to constantly tap a 1/1 minion to activate a 1 mana 2/3 minion: a +1/+1 power up from the pattern. Isn't that an ability similar to Anointer of Champion?
  • Any more entries?
  • I'm postponing the end of the contest, as there are not enough entries yet.
  • any more entries?
  • I had a Phyrexian concept in mind, but I forgot it. It was my last entry, too.
