Instant Set
I would like to see a set of five complementary instants. Here are the requirements:
- Each spell must be an instant
- All five spells must have the same CMC.
- Your set must represent single colors, color pairs, or wedges. For example:
- - [w, g, r, b, u]
- - [uw, wg, gr, rb, bu]
- - [wr, wb, ur, ug, gb]
- - [wgr, grb, rbu, buw, uwg]
- - [wrb, gub, rwb, bwg, urg]
I will judge based on the following criteria:
- production (including artwork, formatting, English grammar, rules grammar, and overall attention to detail)
- creativity
- use of consistent or complementary themes
- use of consistent or complementary mechanics
- balance
Each person may submit one set, which must contain five cards for consideration.
Submissions closed on Sunday, May 10th.

Just add {1} and make them instants, it should be fine.
SorcerersBone: that is definitely the coolest theme, and the card effects are actually pretty cool (I like the tragedy of the commons one, especially). They all go well with what they represent. There isn't any clear cut mechanical balance between them, but none of them seem out of line.
Beeswax: those are great. I love the theme. I feel like the green one should maybe let you split the +1/+1 counters up, but otherwise I'm on board.
Corwinn: I really like the idea. I love counterspells, and I would love to see a cycle where each color gets one. The secondary effects seem pretty across-the-board, though, in terms of power, and I can't tell whether the blue one is supposed to hurt you or your opponent.
Ultimately, I think I'd have to rank them in this order. I'll post some comments on these cards specifically and take a look through each of your collections and favorite my top three picks of your cards. If there's anything else you guys would like me to comment on or favorite, post a link to it below!
Thanks for participating!
These were some great entries!
