Has this ever happened to you?

So, I made a really bad and cheap mono-blue control deck out of cards randomly sitting in my collection. It literally costed six dollars including lands. Somehow, it still beats my brother's 150 dollar red-blue prowess deck that wins like 90% of games. So far we've played 4 games and I've won 3. Has this ever happened to you? Because it's really really funny watching someone rage as you beat them with pretty much nothing.

  • I have one friend who plays this kind of deck. I hate it. I don't really like expensive decks, so I'm not playing a deck which would cost a fortune, but I do like playing against decks that let me actually play anything.

May Vexing Shusher forever haunt you in your sleep!
  • The best thing is when you win four games in a row, and the person you're playing with says, "your deck is stacked!"... so you trade decks and keep winning.
  • @Faiths_Guide - Although I have vowed never to play a guy who says... "I've never lost with this deck... It's 50-0." Because in about 20 minutes it was 50-2.
  • Same thing with me. Apparently, $60 B/W Tokens beats the crap out of ~$1000 BUG Legacy Delver!

Might be me, but I think Mono Blue control does well against glass cannon decks like Izzet Prowess, mainly because once you disrupt it, it is hard for Prowess to rebuild their win con quickly enough to beat your own.
  • Well, as I said before, my deck is literally 20 dollars. And it has beaten like thirty proxy decks, cause my friends are too poor to make real tournament decks.
  • Well, it was $20 Sultai Control Junk vs $0 Proxy Affinity (would've been $600).
  • Yeah, it's always really funny crushing someone's pride with a small, cheap deck out of nowhere.
  • That's what happens when I bring mono-black infect to a modern event. My $80 laughs at everyone else.
  • Lol mono black infect is fun.
  • I beat my friend playing a Grixis Delver deck which cost him upwards of £300 with my £20 mono-green infect deck.
