  • One with Nothing is actually really good in my opinion.

    Makes Scornful Egotist good
  • @DragonFaceEater I may have read that name wrong at first.... .-.
Also that's just the thumbnail, there's no link to the card's page.
  • @TheClayKnight .-.
Well... I guess that ruined my card for you...
    Here's the like I guess...

  • @DragonFaceEater I wouldn't say ruined. Just resulted in awkward facial expressions until I read it more carefully.
His ability and flavor text seem to contradict. An 8cmc creature shouldn't be a trivial thing.
  • @TheClayKnight Well, it's sort of a hint to it's combo with scornful egotist.
  • @TrippleBoggey3

    Please say you are joking...
  • @KimJongMartin, Do you know the definition of "combo"?
  • @TrippleBoggey3 I do, yes, and I understand what you can do with One With Nothing.

However, even a deck like dredge that relies heavily on getting things in the graveyard does not want this card. For a start, it doesn't give you the choice to keep the cards you want. It forces you to discard all your cards, and suddenly your opponent has such a huge card advantage over you may never come back.

Secondly, for one more mana you can get something like Lotleth Troll, that allows you to discard cards you want, while getting it bigger all the while. If you play a deck that aims to discard as many cards as possible, just discard like 4 cards into this, and get it as a 6/5 or something gross.

Also, if you're playing a combo deck, how do you ever hope to find your pieces if you've just lost seven cards, along with any Serum Visions you might have or Transmute cards to find the pieces?

In short, there are quicker, better ways of getting things in your grave that don't require you relying on top decking for the rest of the game, and that can actually have an effect on the board.

One With Nothing is terrible. Unplayable. End of.
  • Gave a shot at making a good version of Juju Bubble, mostly due to its extreme terrible mediocrity.

This one is going off the rails a bit and drifting more into Aetherflux Resivoir territory.
(mostly because that's the deck I'm running in standard now.)

    Recommendations greatly appreciated.
  • I got an idea!

    Storm-Crow Egoist!!!

    Get it? Storm-Crow and Scornful?

    No one copy my idea!

Storm Crow was OP enough, so I guess we gotta counterbalance it with Scornful Egoist!

I'm gonna make this when I get back!
  • Oops, never mind i misread the terms, I'll enter correctly in time.

Sorrow's Path can be played in a Boros pain-amp deck with creatures like Mogg Maniac, Spitemare, and Boros Reckoner. If you toss out a damage doubler (Dictate of the Twin Gods), they hit for 8 damage each. If you run a few indestructible-giving things like Nahiri's Machinations or Boros Charm, it can go infinite. Add a few other toys like Pariah or the en-Kor creatures from Stronghold, and you've got a janky Boros aggro deck.

The improvement is pretty clear! A 1/2 with flying is way better than a 1/1!

Given it a shot, a true one this time.

This is of course for Scornful Egotist as most have been, however it also combos with the damage dealt by sorrow's path. Hopefully this is balanced.
  • @Emeraldragon17 it works. But it's very specific and would only work for scornful egotist. And I think the cmc is too high.
