All cultures (including Russia's) are equally "fantastic" when it comes to fairy-tales. They may not be the aesthetic/theme you're going for, but the fantasy genre by itself covers literally every fairy-tale and fantastic fiction from every culture.
I think the only problem with this set is that it is too similar to Lorwyn. The two main ideas of Lorwyn are tribal-themed and loosely based upon fairy-tales. This world has these two as its main themes as well.
@TheFriendlyGeek Can I help out? I was thinking about an expansion on WB that might make it slightly less like Lorwyn/Shadowmoor. I was thinking that you could have WB being the Fate Weavers who were essentially the group of wizards founded by a certain Planeswalker to weave the stories of the plane, and make sure that every story had a happy ending and that justice was adequately served. I made the leader of the group as a representation. http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/vilivius-aeons-weaver I thought Fateshield could represent how the Wizards weave the stories around themselves so as not to be harmed. Story means X equals the # of spells you've cast this turn with the same converted mana cost as another spell you've cast the same turn. It was meant to be like stringing together a story, how the parts have to fit together. If you think it's better as "Whenever you cast a spell with a converted mana cost equal to the converted mana cost of another spell on the stack plus or minus one {effect}", in which case you should bump it to life loss/gain of 2 (card draw stays the same). Please let me know what you think! You are free to use Vilivius and the mechanics!

Is there a set I can help you with then?
