I am not playing standard for as long as Kaladesh block is in because just about every deck uses copter and RW Vehicles is dominating along with other variants of that type. I might consider playing standard if Aether Revolt can give enough stuff that can take down copter and the ever-growing power of vehicle decks while staying prominent against the non-vehicle decks.
@Rednaxela I do agree with you on that. I hope some Esper Control can get some good support because I would probably play Standard with Dovin and Fatal Push and Disallow etc.
Did I say, I hate the Kaladesh block? 'Fatal push' is a card, I could play, but especially the vehicles are a reason for me to not play standard like @TheFriendlyGeek said before. I am looking so forward to the next block!
I've been running a w/b servo deck in standard whcih seemed to be working OK. I'm really excited for Sram's Expertise becasue of the way you can get Master Trinketeer or Chief of the foundry for free.
Great artifact hate. This is the one from this morning's spoilers that people are the most exited about. Either you cast it for 3 and destroy an artifact and get a 2/2 which is pretty good. or you cast later in the game, like for 5, and destroy 2 artifacts and get two 2/2s which is really good. Plus gremlins are awesome.
Too expensive to do much in standard. But this of course is great in limited and possibly commander.
I really hate the 'revolt' mechanic. Has it occured to anyone how incredibly similar it is to morbid...? I'm also not the biggest fan of improvise...This set really doesn't look very exciting (apart from Bolas of course).
@KJMartin yeah it's similar to morbid but it is much easier to enable because the creature doesn't need to die. And it doesn't need to be a creature (So you can use fetchlands). But I do wish they would have made something a little more original and interesting. They weren't being very creative with the mechanics with revolt being like morbid and improvise like convoke.
Here's Baral A lot of people are exited about this one. Great control creature.
Here is his Expertise This is really good. Especially for the fact that it can cost 4 due to Baral's ability. One really cool thing you could do with this is bounce your opponents high toughness creatures and then cast Yahenni's Expertise for free killing the rest of their creatures and then cast another thing for free.
People are talking about making a deck with only noncreature token generators, this, and some giant creatures. So you make some tokens kill a couple off with this and then get a couple eldrazi titans on the battlefield.
There are a few in other languages that I will post later once they are translated. (But one of them can combo to produce infinite combat phases.)
I'm gonna have to add Cogwork Assembler and Altar to my cube.
Can you say turn 2 infinite colorless mana/win for GG (Using Channel with the combonation @Rednaxela just mentioned?) Wizards, why U do this?
Here is how it works: Turn one: Play Forest. Ship turn. Turn two: Play Forest. Cast Channel. Pay 12 life to cast a Myr Battlesphere, an Ashnod's Altar, and a Cogwork Assembler. Sacrifice 4 myr tokens: Create a token of battlesphere. Repeat this process twice. Swing for 21. Good Game, Opponent! You haven't even cast your first spell yet and I killed you! Such Compelling Gameplay!
So your opening hand has two Forests, Channel, Ashnod's Altar, Myr Battlesphere, and Cogwork Assembler? I believe Evan Erwin refers to that sort of scenario as "Magical Christmas Land".

The -2 seems to just be a version of Encounter at the Bridge, or whatever it was called, minus the life gain, which is kind of unexciting.
Also, the ultimate has the ability to be insane for something like Grixis Affinity in Frontier, which I'm always excited about.
Not so good. Unless you use these...

Expertises are a cycle.
Here's the white one...
...and its corresponding legendary creature
Good removal/New mechanic
Great energy production and an extra turn.
Cool elephant:

The green legend. Should be getting its expertise soon. Seems good, goes well with this from yesterday:

Yahenni seems pretty good.
Solid 2 drops:
Doesn't seem very difficult to hit that eight artifact of same name requirement. Especially using tokens.
We got Rishkar's Expertise:
What do you think? Better or worse than the scissors.
A lot of people are exited about this one. Great control creature.

Vampire Groundhawk.
This + Myr Battlesphere + Ashnod's Altar= Another infinite combo to add to the long list of infinite combos that this set is creating.
Great job, Wotc

Meanwhile, I'm more excited for Aetherborn or Pirate tribal in casual eternal play.
It's worth pointing out that a turn 2 battlesphere almost always wins you the game, silly combos aside.
EDIT: Just noticed he is trying to eat the Masterpeice Sol Ring. XD
Shocking!
