Introducing 2 mechanics specifically made for Artifact creatures:
Reforge:
This is attached to a quite costly creature and allows for a mana dump to boost it using +1/+1 counters. The effect would only be as good as the mana you use at the time and wouldn't be cumulative. This can come over as a mix of Awaken and Monstrosity keywords made specifically for Artifact creatures.
Retroforge:
This is intended to cast a creature that is good in it's own right, but then give you an option to lose the keywords by sacrificing the creature to give a counter based boost to another artifact creature.
There's a good chance they both suck as it's my first real try but let me know what you think!
Impart [Cost] (When this creature dies, you may pay its impart cost. If you do, target creature gains all activated abilities of this creature.)
Next three:
@liftinggravity (Edited slightly, it does the same thing.) Legacy {n} (When this creature leaves the battlefield, create {n} tokens that are copies of it, except they don't have this ability.)
My mechanic I made for @ningyounk's Trabadart contest. (Edited in response to criticism.) Blackmail (Whenever this creature attacks, you may gain control of another target creature until end of your next turn.)
@Tomigon's Apparate [Cost] ([Cost], {t}: Shuffle this creature into its owner's library. Then draw a card.)
@KJMartin Why did WoTC stop making downside mechanics?
Pillage X - When this creature deals combat damage to a player, exile the top X cards of their library. You may cast those cards until end of turn, you may spend mana as though it were mana of any color to cast them. by @Monty
Cowardly. (Whenever an opponent casts a spell, tap this creature. If one or more spells were cast last turn, this creature doesn't untap during your untap step.) by @me
Rouse (Whenever you or a creature you control is dealt damage, untap [CARDNAME]) by @kltmtg29

Sorry, but none of these cards link to @Faiths_Guide's mechanics, making them both invalid
