@Credius, @Death_Methods, since this round is much harder than the previous rounds, I am not putting a time limit on it. @BradXmagic, take your time, but keep in mind that your opponents are waiting on you.
@MagicChess Here is my entry. I tried something different, that hasn't been done before. Since there isn't anything to compare it to, I don't really know if they are good or bad. I just think that the idea is cool, and I want feedback on how I can improve them because the ability is interesting.
They all have one color in the mana cost, but have an additional color to make them enemy colors. And they all have the ability to be put directly onto the battlefield at the beginning of your first upkeep, at a price.
@BradXmagic A cool idea. But the power levels vary quite widely in some cases, with some near fundamentally broken. That and some feel mismatched color-wise. Although, I think that's likely because you felt the drawback would be too strong on some of them.
I'm imagining a world in which the white one is in the WG color identity. That would be the ultimate cancer! XD
@modnation675 Yeah, I wanted to get them done and over with. If there wasn't the restriction of the color cycle, and I had more time to think, they would have turned out much better. I would like to see how some other cardsmiths use this idea, as inspiration.
@BradXmagic Yeah, I think it is an excellent idea for Commanders. Especially for those that want to make something simpler.
I think this would be an amazing idea mixed with partner being on the cards. Especially as ways to round out the options for partner based decks. (As well as provide an optional challenge?)
The results of Round Four! Remember, one person will be eliminated, and the final two will move on and battle for the win in Round Five. If you are eliminated right now, you will win the prize for third place (two favorites and you choose an honorable mention).
@nsm91................... :::Dramatic music crescendo:::
You are safe! XD Gotcha there, didn't I? You were actually the winner of this round! Congratulations!
So that leaves @Credius. Sorry buddy, but you have been eliminated. It was a valiant effort, and you are deserving of a hearty congratulations for making it this far. You are our third place winner! Thank you so much for participating. It's been a pleasure having you.
And now, Round Five!
@nsm91, @BradXmagic, take your places for the final duel! This will be the most difficult challenge of all! Your challenge is...........
:::drumroll:::
Make a mechanic! You will invent your own new custom mechanic and smith five cards to exhibit it in as many various and interesting ways as you can! Not only will you be judged on your mechanic, but also on the cards you make to show it off.
You will have more time for this contest, as it is the hardest yet. I'll give you guys two weeks, but feel free to post your entry sooner.
Since this is the final duel, I will let the Cardsmith community contribute their opinions and vote on who they think should win! I will take into consideration the result of this poll if 10 or more smiths vote when determining the winner!
Good fortune, my valiant competitors, and may the best smith claim the title of Champion Cardsmith Duelist!
@MagicChess another tough challenge. Really made me think. Thanks for this contest, btw super fun.
So for this challenge I wasn't sure what I wanted to do but I kept having this reoccurring thought. One thing I hate more than anything is in a long, heated match that is coming down to the wire and all you draw on your last three turns are lands. I wanted to give these wasted draws some utility and so I eventually created Coalesce.
Coalesce (You may cast this card as though it has flash if you discard a land card while casting it.)
Each of my cards try to showcase how this can be used across the various colors and card types - Aura, Enchantment, Creature, Sorcery, Artifact
Okay, I put my entry into a set. These are the first 5 cards I have created with the mechanic, I will make more.
Graveborn (You may only cast this spell if a card that shares a type with it was put into your graveyard this turn.)
So if you have an artifact with graveborn in your hand, you can't cast it unless an artifact was put into your graveyard this turn.
I rushed it and made the cards all in under an hour total, so the design isn't the best. But I do believe the mechanic is pretty cool and flavorful. Thanks for the contest @MagicChess
@BradXmagic. @nsm91. We have come to the final judgement. You both have done well, and made it through five harrowing rounds, and you have striven to succeed against valiant competitors, but thrust, feinted, and parried your way through the ranks.
The winner of Cardsmith Duels! The smith who gets some awesome bragging rights! The owner of the promised GLORY and EVERLASTING FAME! The Champion Cardsmith Duelist is..........................
@Faiths_Guide, I am going to honorably mention your Potion, Cryotoxin Vial. You made a very good argument in its favor, and I find that I am leaning towards your point of view. The choice to eliminate you was definitely the hardest one in this contest.
@Faiths_Guide, is it just me, or does your avatar change every time you comment on something? Just a minute ago I was on Nameless Set Contest, and your avatar was something totally different.
@nsm91 Well done! @MagicChess Thank you for the contest, I am honored to have placed 2nd. I was going to choose @Faiths_Guide for my honorable mention, but I will choose another participant. I also receive a follow and 3 favorites right?
@Hergusbergus, of course! You are in. @Anybody_Else, if you would like to reserve a position and are worried that you will miss the window to enter in Season Two otherwise, please do so now and here! @BradXmagic, Ok, sounds good!
@MagicChess Wow I'm honored. Never would have guessed this when I entered. Thanks for a really fun contest.
For my Honorable Mention, I would like to give a shout out to @pstmdrn with Alpine Trail. It pretty hard to make a cool land, not to mention a snow land, and I think this one was really exception. Probably the best first turn land drop you can have in a hand with no 1 mana spells.

But it has also been extended at least twice for people who did show up at the end.

I present to you, emblem commanders:

For all those nerdy programmers like me.

Congrats @nsm91, @BradXmagic, and @Credius!
Haha, I've been shuffling them around lately. Trying to find something I'd like to keep for a while.
May I have a reservation for next season?
@MagicChess Thank you for the contest, I am honored to have placed 2nd. I was going to choose @Faiths_Guide for my honorable mention, but I will choose another participant. I also receive a follow and 3 favorites right?
My honorable mention is @Arceus8523
I enjoyed his card Rust in Peace (http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/rust-in-peace-1)
And he was a worthy opponent.
@Anybody_Else, if you would like to reserve a position and are worried that you will miss the window to enter in Season Two otherwise, please do so now and here!
@BradXmagic, Ok, sounds good!
Thanks for the HM =D
@MagicChess
I'll reserve for season 2 while I'm here

@Superman101, "my liege" XD
@nsm91, does that mean you're entering? Hope so!
