Here's my entry: http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/guara-muraganda-refuge?list=user Challenge: make a city. A little background info... Muraganda is a wild place where only the strongest survive. Most humanoids of the plane live in close knit nomadic clans traversing the wilderness. But two hundred years ago a few humans settled down at the base a huge tree and started Guara. To protect it from constant assault from the wilds, the first Guarans tamed imperiosaurs to protect the city. Now, as the only permanent town stead in all of Muraganda, Guara sees many different tribes and people pass through it. @Everybody, I will announce the winners of the first round on Tuesday or Wednesday. @Death_Methods, @Faiths_Guide, I will judge your entries last, so you'll have a couple extra days.
Opponent: @MTGkitchentable Challenge: Make a card full of puns that could be seen in a non-unset.
So the context for the card's non-punny flavor is that it's a part of Steam Siege, the second set in my custom block, Blackened Skies. Basically, the plane this block is set on consists of a huge city (kinda like Ravnica, but not seemingly endless) while the rest of the plane is uncharted wilderness. The city is nearly completely void of natural life, spare humans and their pets, but there are some areas of the city that have been abandoned where the first wildlife is returning.
@MagicChess So sorry I am asking this so late! When you say a remake, do you mean we make another card thats a lot like the overpowered card? (Temporal Mastery to Time Walk.) Or do we make a card of the same name as an overpowered card, but edited to be balanced. Please tell me if I need to elaborate more. Thanks
@ThyMaster What I'm asking you to do is take a real MTG card that you find overpowered, then make the same card with the same image with the same name (and with the same flavor text if there is any/you can fit any), but balanced. For example, @Angry_Potatoes made a balanced remake of Prophet of Kruphix: http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/prophet-of-kruphix-6
Opponent(s):KrampisZman, butterkirby Challenge: Make a balanced remake of an (in your opinion) overpowered real MTG card.
When I thought of an overpowered mtg card, I immediately thought Black Lotus. But how can you balance that? So I went to plan B, Ancestral Recall. Hope it's good!
@Rednaxela, yes, sure. @Everybody, it will take me longer than expected to judge your entries, since another one of my contests is ending and I need to judge that one as well. Expect results by Thursday or Friday.

I like how this makes Evolving Wilds a man-land of sorts.

I don't think I'll be able to make a card by tonight. Would it be ok if we extended our challenge one extra day?
Opponent: @mtgwizard9003
Alright, I lost, Hopefully not though!

Hmm, guess I need to give you all more time to make your cards.

I'd say the first as it's more flavorful. But I can't say for sure!
