SCI-FI contest 2
Welcome to the second annual SCI-FI contest!
I think I'm going to do this contest annually once a year on this day. Why?
First of all, I have been a cardsmith for a year now, hooray!. If anyone cares, probably not.
Second, today is May 4th. And you Star Wars fans know what may 4th is.
And third, many new people come every year to cardsmith to create cards in his or her image. Some of these people really like something like Star Wars and creates Star Wars cards. They could be really good or they could be really bad, like me. A contest like this every year will allow them to share these cards that they create even more in a simple just for fun way.
For those who are new and/or are interested in the sci-fi contest here is how this contest will work. (The rules have been updated since the last SCI-FI contest.)
You can create up to 3 cards that are a SCI-FI theme and post them here.
SCI-FI includes advanced technology that doesn't exist, Space or time travel that either uses advanced technology or alien technology from another planet, something that exists Beyond the year 2017 (preferably beyond at least 100 years from now), NASA, and/or one of the following SCI-FI movies,games, and books.
Star Wars, Star Trek, battlestar galactica, terminator, Independence Day, transformers, alien, starship troopers, halo, destiny, portal, half life, deus ex, doom, system shock,XCOM,mass effect, titanfall,overwatch, ratchet and clank, jak and daxter, the hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy, guardians of the Galaxy, and etc.
If you have any suggestions to this list just ask.
for each of the cards you post i will judge and comment a little bit on based off of artwork,mana cost, description, abilities, mechanics, flavor text, power/toughness, realism.......and grammar.
the contest will start now and end on june 4th.
i will then post a leaderboard that shows the winners of the contest.
the winners of the contest will get...
1 MILLION Spacebucks.(just kidding)
1st place: 1 follower and 2 favs
2nd place: 2 favs
3rd place: 1 fav

by the way, is anyone going to see guardians of the galaxy vol.2?

Aether glutton has fine artwork and it's third ability makes aether glutton good against kaladesh or energy counter decks. I'm confused with it's second ability. How do you exchange energy counters with a target opponent?
EDIT: Remade terraforming apparatus. This 2.0 version is now immune to ban hammers.
From Shadowrun and based on one of my favorite classes from it.
A classic from Star Wars.
and a potential realistic technology, but featured in a lot of science fiction.

xander freedom fighter would be great to have on the rebel alliance.
herrick would be great too, but i would have to pretend that he doesn't have a plasma rifle in his hands.
should i say anything about energy pistol adept?
it's officially pronounced lightsaber, but lightsabre works too.
It would be interesting if you would say something about the Energy Pistol Adept, but if you can't think of anything then don't. It would probably be in the rebel alliance as well.
decker should join the rebellion too, and i like the flavor text.
I can't believe i'm saying this but i would actually prefer decker over red-5. even though red-5 is the callsign used by luke skywalker, but there are a few problems with red-5.
first of all is that i don't think it should be crew 2, i would prefer it to be crew 1. because technically X-wing's can only have 1 pilot, but i can see why you would have 2 because there are astromech droids in them. but those are optional and are not required for X-wings. and the same thing goes with the pilot. astromech droids can also fly X-wings on their own.
second is that the ability to tap to destroy a creature with a power of 5 or greater is overpowered, even for luke skywalker the best X-wing pilot you can get, X-wings can only get so powerful. the destruction of the death star was just a lucky shot. and it's not just luke skywalker who has used this callsign, pedrin gaul and grizz frix has also used this callsign.
i think your terraforming apparatus got banned or something because i can't find on cardsmith and after barely reading the flavor text i think i see some language in there. but i like your idea

ok
energy pistol adept could become really powerful overtime if it is left untreated by opposing players, especially in multiple numbers. but make sure you have many sorceries and instants at your disposal or otherwise this card is useless. if you have other creatures in your hand or already on the battlefield, make sure you play them and then block with them when needed to protect your energy pistol adepts that don't have any counters on them.
Also would you mind if I remade Red-5? Make it a lil better?
I will let you remake terraforming apparatus but red-5 will stay.

if you have a creature named rey in your deck, you would want scavengers salvage in it.
once we find out what is rey's last name of course.
but a little spendy.
and that's one slow deathbeetle.
the portal rings and sphere of destruction are very similar to a planeswalker. except you don't have to worry about losing your portal rings when you run out of power counters.
for sphere of destruction, one word, overpowered. if it's you and just one opponent or teams. you just won the game. if it's a free for all people have the choice of attacking whoever they want. if you have this card out in play somewhere in the beginning of the game, you're going to get bored. attacking with creatures might be interesting depending on how powerful your opponent's creatures are but i'm sure you got other overpowered enchantments like this one. you know what would really make this card overpowered, if it was an instant. if you drawed this card but not on this turn because another enchantment or instant from another player and targeted you and the enchantment or instant said that you must draw a card or more and then blabablybalbaybla. it was probably to move a certain amount these cards to your graveyard, exile, or bottom of your library or something. if this card managed to survive that and it was an instant it would be able to prevent damage that is targeted torwards you by other opponents.
make sure you have plenty of silvers in your deck.
