The Legends' Descendants

A long time ago, in the third expansion set of MtG, we were first introduced to named characters with backstories; the first legendary creatures.
This set was fittingly called "Legends", and it sported Rubinia Soulsinger, Rasputin Dreamweaver, Tetsuo Umezawa, and other colourful people.

I'd like to see your take on what remains of these great names today.

Wizards has already done similar stuff: There's literal descendants (like Korlash is Dakkon Blackblade's heir), shifted versions from a time-twisted alternate reality (like Jedit Ojanen), or similar.

Now it's your turn.

I'll give you as few guidelines as possible:

Has to hold up with nowaday's powerlevel without being over the top.
Has to be a possible commander.
Has to have a connection to its forerunner (style, flavor, type and/or name).

You can find the original legends here:

Also, don't feel forced to go all mythic powerhouse on these; the original legends' rarity varies from common to rare, so you have all the room to do what feels right in that regard.

I will leave feedback on each entry, and favourite the ones I like the most.

The top 3 will be nomintated on the first of June.

Until then, go make some cards!
