Oh sorry @Stormtide. I overlooked your earlier comment about the races. I think Humans and Elementals will play a large part. I'd like to see werewolves for some reason.
How about a new race? The Tiki. Little spirits, white, red, green, and blue aligned. They could just be spirits too actually - Tiki in their name title. Idk.
The Tiki generally protect humans and other lifeforms at their whim. Demon's, generally, do harm but could be appeased to do humans bidding in rituals. A cycle of rituals might be fun. That the inhabitants invoke to summon favor of these spirits /tiki/demon's.
Red can also have lizards. Perhaps one island even has viashino. Black can have bats and rats.
The Tiki are supposed to be guardian spirits of sorts, so their type can be spirits, but we can differentiate them in their name titles with "Tiki". "Tiki Shaman", "War Tiki", etc.
I like it, @NokiSkaur. I like it very much! Now, we need 1 more plane name entry and then on to voting. EDIT: Leviathans work very well in blue. Scarecrows maybe are animated by the magic...? And Kithkin returning, lel!
Yes, magically animated scarecrows. I was kinda stuck in this voodoo loop for black, and I thought of a figure similar to the SOI scarecrow that I forgot the name of. Not Wicker Witch or Harvester's Hand... the lanky one with glowing purple features.
Here are some races that seem to fit the Polynesian theme. I think each tribe should have two colors that can use it. Of course, there will be animals and things too. These are just sentient races. WU- Aven UB- Kapua (Shapeshifters) BR- Flamekin RG- Puaa (Boar folk) GW- Plant people (Treefolk, Dryad, etc. I haven't decided) WB- Humans UR- Viashino BG- Tiki (Spirits) RW- Menehune (Dwarves) GU- Merfolk (With a shark-folk subcatagory, with the same type)
I've gone back and forth on whether Humans and Tiki should be switched.
Notes: The Hawaiian people believed that every object has a spirit. Also, there is a common myth about the spirits of fallen warriors playing drums. This will mean a lot of spirits in the set. We don't want to go Kamigawa-style though.
Lastly, the Dragons in the mythology are called Mo'o, don't fly, and turn into islands when they die. I feel like this could make for some interesting cards, mechanic-wise.
So no O-Kagachi. Got it, @Stormtide. Maybe there would be dragons with "when this creature dies, create a land token with {t}: add u, r or b to your mana pool." So now, what about the story? How about, if there are Viashino and Dragons, we reprint Hivis of the Scale?

Black could have demons.
White: Humans, cats (cat people), spirits
Blue: Merfolk, fish, turtle, leviathans, drakes, (another sea creatures too?)
Black: Demons
Red: (I have no idea)
Green: Birds, snakes, cats, beasts (I don't know what kind of beasts there will be)
Colorless: Sand elementals?

W (Flying): Spirits, Elementals, Birds
W (Non-Flying): Cats, Dwarves
U (Flying): Spirits, Birds
U (Non-Flying): Elementals, Leviathans, Mystics
B (Flying): Horrors
B (Non-Flying): Shamans, Scarecrows, Tiki
R (Flying): Dragons, Elementals
R (Non-Flying): Tikis, Humans, Beasts, Dwarves
G (Flying): Insects
G (Non-Flying): Artisans, Cats, Beasts, Boars
Chrome: Humans
I can also change this as new ideas come along.
Green flyers: Insects because they seem to be the best candidate here. Giant, flying insects. Or smalls too, whatever.
That makes colour pie sense, and it works flavourfully. I usually associate green with flying hate, so I can't usually think of many green flyers.
