Swift Challenge #2 Allies (Smithing time has now begun)
So I was thinking that a good way to see actually how good people are with using their creativity and the resources applenty around them to create magnificent cards, was by making challenges that left little time to either process of creating a card, be it looking for artwork or looking for a balance of abilities and effects.
This challenge will be looking for Allies, make me some interesting and fun to play Ally cards that fit within the theme of all zendikar sets.
So here it is, my second swift challenge.
General Rules of Swift Challenge:
°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°
- From the moment we have 5 participants, you all have exactly 1 week to create a balanced card.
- Cards used for the challenge may only be made within that frame of one week (trust me, I'll check the datestamps)
- The usual rules of keeping it clean-ish (no profanity, pornography, etc)
- All cards will get a favorite
Winner gets: 5 additional favorites of choice and a trophy
Second place gets: 3 additional favorites of choice
Third place gets: 2 additional favorites of choice
Rules of Swift Challenge #2
°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°

-effects and abilities must work well with allies OR have Rally — Whenever CARDNAME or another Ally enters the battlefield under your control, …

Shatterskull Pathfinder by @keplerde
-One of the few non-rally cards in this contest with a dangerously useful ability, this one would have an amazing synergie with any white/red ally deck and thus earns a mention.
Leader of the Charge by @Serpentail
-Though a few format issues are there, it represents a vital part of any ally deck using red: swift action and as expected a bunch of weenies, combined with any other red ally, this one could make overwhelming an opponent quite an easy thing to do.
Now on to the winners:
Third Place:
Angel of Retaliation by @Jonteman93: It's not the card with the best format (just a tiny issue though), it's not the easiest ally to play, but it did present something an allya deck always lacked: the opportunity for a boardwipe without having to depend on cards such as WotG. It's quite well balanced and as a late game creature, it is not just dangerous, it's utter destruction, well done.
Second Place:
Agadeem Alchemist by @NokiSkaur : Black, I'm biased towards it and this one was just amazing in both form and function. Well-balanced in cost and ability for an uncommon and though it might be slightly too costly for it to ever be in any of my ally decks, it is surely an annoying ability to be facing with any regular ally deck.
First Place:
Beastwatcher by @Lujikul
Did anyone ask for an innistrad/zendikar mix? I haven't, though I wish I had. This card at first glance looked to be making the same mistake as I did with my original example for this thread, but at closer inspection it is actually well balanced, as it's token creation is limited to combat damage, it's not a big or especially dangerous ability, but it makes for a useful ally and the colors used also fit nicely with the flavor and intention of the card. Well done.
Congratulations to the HM's and winners, thanks to all who took some time to join in and allowed me to enjoy looking at some interesting and fun ideas on the old Allies of Zendikar. Winners, please list which cards you like to be faved and Lujikul may expect a trophy xD
