The Great Counter War
In my experience, most people are on one side of the fence or the other, concerning counterspells. We either love them or hate them. So now, I'm challenging all you cardsmiths to pick a side. Batte for glory, or for silence!
Rules:
1. The usual courtesy and appropriateness rules apply.
2. Cardsmiths may submit up to two entries, in any combination of sides. (Two for counters, two for not counters, or one for each.)
3. There will be a total of seven winners: first, second, and third places for each side, along with a grand prize winner.
4. Entries must be submitted by October 17th, at 11:59 pm MST.
5. New cards preferred, but not required.
Prizes:
Grand prize: Five favorites and a card made in their honor.
First places: three favorites.
Second places: two favorites.
Third places: one favorite.
Winners and honorable mentions will have their entries favorited.
I wish you all luck in this contest, and look forward to seeing what you come up with!

2. What kinds of entries are we submitting?
Slightly down-graded Grand Abolisher (for safety reasons).
1. Yes, you can battle for both, which is mostly why I specified two entries in any combination, which may need specifying exactly what that means, now that I think about it.
2. Cards. Counterspells (e.g. Counterspell), cards that fight counterspells (e.g. Prowling Serpopard), etc.
Old cards are allowed, yes.
and of course this off-colour counterspell from an earlier counter-contest
Pretty cool! The CMC should probably be a bit higher though.
Nah, its already enough for a 1/1 creature.
Repeatable counters are far too easy to exploit. CMC should be higher.
Its already high enough because it already needs a ton of cost (3 mana and 3 cards) only to counter a friggin Lightning Bolt. And the cost goes higher for the higher cmc cards of course.
I have trouble explaining some of this stuff.
The card is very powerful, mostly due to the confluence of all of the different edges you've given it. The repeatable counter ability may not seem that strong, but it definitely is. Ironically, one of the best parts is what you've put in as a downside: milling your library. You can easily turn that into an advantage in the right deck. There are plenty of decks that like filling the graveyard, like reanimator, or delirium, or Laboratory Maniac. Most recently, God-Pharaoh's Gift decks would love to have this. You could easily drop this on turn 2, and with a little bit of artifact ramp, be prepared to counter every spell your opponent plays, locking them down until you mill into the pieces for whatever your chosen graveyard strategy is.
Combine that with the fact that you gave this flash, immunity from counters, and the ability to also counter activated abilities, and you've got way too many good things for such a cheap card. I'm definitely with @Faiths_Guide on this. Either the cost should be increased, or some of the abilities should be toned-down.
Fine, m8.
Knew I could count on you
I find it hard to explain how "down-sides" are "up-sides" quite often.
While I applaud discussion to improve works, please don't flood the contest page.
Apologies.

Here's my 'We hate Izzet. All hail creatures' card. This is arguably for either side, but I'm submitting it as an anti-counter as green and white don't get in a lot of countering anyway.
Izzet strikes right in the counter zone xD
