Izzet Aristocrat
A while back I made a card called Rakdos Aristocrat. The idea was to make a 10 card set of Aristocrats based on the Ravnica Block Guilds. I was never truly happy with the cards I made for this, and I was waiting for the moment when inspiration would strike, and then I realized that this would make for a great challenge!
We just completed the Sixth challenge for the Selesnya Aristocrat.
http://forums.mtgcardsmith.com/discussion/284/selesnya-aristocrat/p1
So here it is... The seventh of 10 challenges (As long as you all like it and it continues to be popular)
Izzet Aristocrat
The guildelines are as follows...
1. CMC of 5, 4, 3 or 2.
2. Must have at least one blue and one red mana in the casting cost.
3. Should be Uncommon or Rare.
4. Should fit the feel of Izzet.
5. Subtype should include "Advisor"
6. I would prefer the name of the card be Izzet Aristocrat, but that's not required.
The judging will be comprised of Comments made on the cards by other cardsmiths as well as favorites on the cards, and I will also take into consideration your thoughts as well. Any ties will be broken by myself, or a vote.
The reward for this challenge shall be a TROPHY and a custom card of choice! The top three cards will be announced.
The contest ends on June 5th
Here is a recent sample I made

I may make another one that incorporates Overload rather than Replicate.

The whole point is: 4 mana for guarantied overload? Or 2 mana for a 50% chance of it?

Someone has made a second appearance in this card, a certain Robor...wonder what this Izzet freethinker is up to.
So the choices are Boros, Gruul, and Dimir, correct? Of those three, I like Dimir, Boros, and Gruul, in that order. It's your challenge, though.
I saved the more interesting (I felt) for last... Many people have scoffed at the idea of a Gruul Aristocrat, but I think a version could be imagined that would fit the idea of one quite well... I believe in the creativeness of the cardsmiths to capture that essence and prove the doubters wrong!
And thank you for the input!
(I'm making a vanilla 3/3 for RG, and there's nothing you can do to stop me.)
Muahahahahahahahaha.
Drat!
i really like overload on creatures!

Ver complicated, but very, well, Izzet, you know?
Replicate? Check.
Replicating an overloaded spell gives you a copy of an overload? I checked the rules and worded it precisely so that it would work.
Overpowered? Well, no. Your overloaded bolts will burn him too. And you, for that matter.
