Hi, can you target a hostage taker onto itself, and get a infinite blocker? Just want to know for a pirate deck (:

MTG saw that and fixed it
9/29/2017 Hostage Taker has received errata to prevent it from targeting itself. The correct Oracle wording appears above.

Yeah, it was a typo on WotC's part. But I think they changed it.
