Jahanacicus couldn't wait more. He left the arena. He could still watch the battle with his ether magic once it actually started. After leaving the gate he went strait to the HQ of Simic Combine in Legorna. The dagger wasn't even that good. What was important, is that the vampire held it. So it had the DNA of her on it. The DNA was given to the Simic for their mad experiments, in exchange of a key. This was the key to the elite forge, the best forging facility in town, and perhaps in all of South-east Ravnica. He got on the task immediately. Soon, he had daggers tipped in a slowing potion, an enfeebling potion, a nausea potion and just plain poison. He had a dagger for every occasion. But perhaps the most important item was the true concealment blade, which he attached to his trusted saber. One or two slices and dices, and the tapping into her true dragon self would be problematic for the girl.
Leandra glanced over at Radhe when she approached her, not recognizing her at first due to the shawl and headscarf. After the explanation of the situation, she briefly ponders her options.
1. Refuse to help.
2. Help Radhe to understands the contents of the books.
3. Help Radhe, and then lie about what the books say.
Leandra decides to help Radhe with her research, moving aside her own books and notes for the time being. If nothing else, she would at least have more information to work with. She opens up the books Radhe had brought, and briefly reads over them, paraphrasing as she went, particularly the more aquatic based plants that'd be found by the river.
"According to these, the most prominent plants you'll find are mostly various strains of moss, willows, and something they call algae. Supposedly it's constantly growing in calmer waters."
(Obviously this happens at the same time as @KalamMekhar's post, before the fight.)
Leandra was fast, but taught well, condensing several sentences into just a few, easy-to-remember phrases. After going over details both major and insignificant, from the preferred substrate of mosses to the evolutionary differences between Chlorophyte algae and Charophyte algae, Radhe thanks Leandra fervently for her help. She puts the books on the librarian's desk, not knowing where to put them back into, and departed for the arena, hoping to go well ahead of time so that she could grab a decent seat (not that it mattered anymore, of course, but somehow, seeing had more feeling than, well, feeling). On the way, she pondered about the strange fruit that the priest had administered to Corscine in the first game (if Neora received the same, she hadn't seen it). It resembled what her people would call a kharjura, although clearly it had more power than one. Perhaps it grew somewhere nearby. The knowledge might be useful, she thought.
Neerayne had ran into one of the openings. "He is as aggresive as he is rude" she thought. "You are just like the Viridian scum, running into the dark to hide whenever you get the chance." - Dakkarum Neerayne had stopped listening to Dakkarum's taunts. She could not let anger or frustration affect her decisions. She do not have much of a chance against Dakkarum. It was clear just before she had fled into the dark tunnel opening. It was like a labyrinth, perfect to escape to get a moment of planning. Apart from Dakkaram's taunts there some other noice in the tunnel. She procceded forward to investigate when she stopped just before some iron bars. "Perfect"
Dakkarum could almost smell the elf now. She was getting closer? The smell came from just around the corner. With an attacking movement he moved into the corner. before he could realize what it was he got bitten by a large lion with a second one just beside it. Dakkarum regained his stability and cut the throat of the first lion, the second attacked his waist causing a huge wound but Dakkarum just moved his balance and rip the lions back open so the bloodstain covered him. He got lightly aroused by the bloodbath he had created. He then continued inwards to find the stupid elf.
Neerayne saw the lions get slaughtered but it was still an successful attempt as they had damaged the vampire quite badly. The vampire stood still for a moment just looking at the lion bodies when Neerayne noticed the wounds of the vampire was healing. She had to be more clever for the next attempt.
Dakkarum kept following the smell which he could feel better now. He heard new noices coming from the right. Could be the elf but it was most likely some new animal. It dosen't matter. He ran down the tunnel and greeted the rhino with a bloody welcome right through it's breast. The wolves were easily decapitated. Another rhino jumped over him so he fell to the ground. The elf then appeared from the dark and put a dark glowing hand on his head as he felt the anger and even more bloodlust grow within him.
For each animal the vampire killed, Neerayne felt a as she had been stricken with a blade within. She could not use the animals much more or she would most likely be killed by these internal blades. The sapphire she had would for some reason not work against this kind of magic, or was it because there where no physical magic involved. She saw the vampire become overwhelmed by a rhino. This was her chance. She prepared her dark touch as she ran to the vampire and touched his mind. Something was wrong. Something was preventing her from controlling the mind, her attempt only made Him angrier. She ran away again into the darkness. She stopped, tried to think of anything as she felt another internal blade from the rhino being killed. A moment later she felt another blade and one more. The blades came one after the other until they finally stopped. She heard something comming from the other side of the tunnel. A lion appeared from the darkness and she began to run.
Dakkarum got his arm free and pierced the rhino multiple times before he threw it off him. The elf had continued left he thought as the walked forward. I'll deal with her later last. He came to another cage with three lions. He slashed the lock open and killed two of the lions, the last one escaped. He continued along the tunnel and found another cage with a bear, one with two wolves and one with some weird animal. His bloodthirst was still not satisfied and the ethereal's enchantment did not make it easier to satisfy it. Probably the opposite. He continued towards the last smell he could fell. He came out in the sun again where the lion from earlier lied in pain with a dagger in its neck. He moved to the lion to finish the work and as he struck, something blew of blowing sand into his eyes temporarly blinding, him but his other senses still worked well.
Neerayne had just trown a dagger into the lion before she hide in a dark corner. He prayed to the dark mother for strength, magic, an idea or something. After a moment she got an idea. Crazy and dangerous would not be able to describe it but it seemed like the only possible way of victory. When the vampire had appeared at the lion she threw a dagger inbued with magic to create a little sand cloud. She would not be able to fight the vampire but she could avoid his swings for just enought time she believed. She ran to the vampire once again with the dark touch. She tried to avoid as many swings as possible as she manipulated the vampires mind more and more. She ran and hid in the dark again thereafter. She stayed completely still, praying that this would work.
Dakkarum was very furious and his bloodlust was relentless. He felt the smell of blood filling his nostrils so intense that he could almost taste it. He looked around and he found the rogue's blood scent. He made himself ready to attack and threw himself towards the rogue he had found.
The crowd screamed in terror as the vampire smashed through the barrier and landed right before Kara who was shocked. Dakkarum swung at Kara. Cling! His claws was stopped by a sword. He witdrew his claw for another strike against the one who had stopped him but he was too slow. Oliver repositioned his sword and cleaved straight through Dakkarum. The audience and many of the contesters were still terrified from what had happened. Even Mishra was minorly supprised.
Someone was applauding. Neerayne and everyone else looked at pale man in his seat. He was looking at Neerayne with an intimidating smile of pleasure.
Mishra tried to not think too much about all that had just happened. He had to prepare for his fight. It was only 4 hours left and it would be located in the old town at the canal/river.
@NokiSkaur Thank you for a good competition. As you probably know. You will recieve one favorite for each card in Dakkarum's evolution you post including this one.
This fight was too even. My head hurts. Dangit: it was a scout not a rogue -_-
Eyebrows raised momentarily of their own accord. Mishra settled back to his near dormant state a second afterwards. The scout had won? That actually worked in his favor; the vampire would've doubtless proved difficult, and scouts were as easily bested as scoundrels and assassins.
Through lowered eyelids Mishra carefully observed the crowd's reaction. He stopped and looked more intently at each opponent in turn. None appeared ready for his upcoming battle. This commotion with the animals had caused quite a stir and the audience it would seem.
"What?" Mishra's eyes opened a little wider. "R5-T4 looks as though he's triangulated on my position. This should prove interesting, I wonder what he wants."
Jahanacicus wasn't too upset. He upgraded the vampire because of the dagger thing, but he always secretly rooted for the elf. Now, he did not come to the fight. He had unfinished business. As he left, he gently, accidentally-on-purpose completelt vaporised the whole ice cream supply of the dragon girl. That will teach our host to make smart remarks. "Ice cream > Any god he can think of" Pfft! You don't think of ethereal gods! You beg them to consider you are worthy! Lastly, he checked the ice cream didn't blow up or anything in case his opponent has another stash. Nope. Just ice cream. Colder than usual, but still, just frozen milk.
He had some more work to do at the forge.
@Jonteman93 Ice cream is great, but not greater than being a son of a god!
Neerayne couldn't believe she actually won against the vampire despite almost none of her powers, or the protection, were useful against him.
'Apparently my luck is still not running out, for now at least.' She thought while was walking back to her quarter to take some rest and to patch her wounds after she pulled away her dagger from the ground.
'Thank you, my Queen.' She silently prayed to the Dark Mother, her left arm clutched tightly and closely in front of her chest.
'And I believe I should get a better weapon.' She mentally sighed.
But something else was also nagging her mind. One thing she knew, things were always tend to be getting worse and worse in a tournament. Especially if it involved blood in it.
When the priest had put Dakkarum back to life, he sat down a moment while he was told what had happened. The vampire apologized to Kara before he went to the federation building to get his stuff. He could however not stop thinking how Jahanacicus' magic had caused him to lose control to easy. If he would have fought without it he would most surerly have won. "No matter. Hopefully I don't encounter Jahanacicus on the way, or i might lose my control on purpose."
Bafae walks around the slums of the city...looking for allies. If the scum here can help it will be useful.
Since she now knows that Mishra plans to bring an army she might as well...passing off as a high up ruler of her plane she hopefully gathers allies. Assuring that none will work for Mishra with promises of riches from the people in her plane she continues.
Apparently she is going to be at a water mill. She heads down the river to practice swimming against the current and climbing/parkour king around similar structures(unless we can practice in the stadium which hasn’t been addressed as far as I can tell)
After some fierce training she continues on sharpening her weapons and priming her nimbleness and explosives...
(Of course @Jonteman93 will make the rules, but I think he wouldn't want us to gather help from locals in a battle. Mishra's ability--even on his card--is making constructs to help him fight etc. so it seems logical that he'd be able to use them. Also, he could just make them during a fight. But, getting other people into the arena seems against the Lagornian code. What do you think, @DoctorFro?)
(After maybe or maybe not ditching the scum of the city) She continues to train and hone her skills.
The tales (that relate to skills that will not be used in this fight most likely) of why I am called the vanishing assassin or teleporting mistress...
Bafae just looks around for anything useful that could help her in the fight against Mishra and his automans. Just in case things get sketchy she buys a bow with (maybe poison tipped arrows). This Bafae thinks allows her to hide out and snipe him from a distance.
Another thought occurs, but I have to see if we are allowed to train in the stadium once it is announced ^^
Until then Bafae practices just killing off moving targets, a few unimportant civilians go missing before the battle. Minor inconviences (spelling!) they were just trying to steal her money.
Now she just waits that the stadium practicing and honing her skills that hopefully will be useful against Mishra
Yea I know; I am fine with whatever I was just thinking of ideas because this is fun and I was running out of things. But I understand bringing your automans in
