I agree with @Lujikul If you can keep the number of comments to lesser degree I would appreciate it. Instead of posting 2 or 3 comments after each other, just edit the earlier one. Also if you want to write something to only one person that is not a character conversation or similar, or if it is not a question that would be good for everyone to know the answer to. please write it in a personal message.
Okay, we were discussing an idea to have the winner host another contest like this one sorry Since it is your competition I was hoping you might comment on this
On a side note @Jonteman93 the next round is in 2 hours right?
@DoctorFro There are alot of comments so it is rather difficult and time consuming to anwer to everything. Personally i don't care if any of you want to make your own tournaments. I would just be honored. I will most likely not make a second tournament of my own within the next 2 months. But before i decide anything of that sort I want to at least have reached this tournament's semi finals.
Maern completely missed the last match. He had been practicing fighting with his new "friends," who were a group of mercenaries who came to Lagorna every few years and this time managed to watch the shows. When he heard the announcement for the battle and the announcement noting the result, he payed no attention, as he was either still ringing from a good hit from one of the mercenaries or, in the case of the second, fast asleep after spending almost an entire day practicing different fighting stances. The thugs also helped him with his demeanor, as it was rare that he found someone who wasn't the slightest bit intimidated from a first glance. To be honest, he had almost completely forgotten that he was in a tournament at all, as he hadn't seen any of the others for a few days now and hadn't heard any of the announcements. But still, he was preparing for battle, as that was what his life was all about.
The abandoned town where not particularly far from the rest of Legorna. If She did not know better she would probably have thought that it was just district of Legorna. They had walked upstreams from the bridge in Legorna for not more than a mile when they reached the Vineyards. From a hill beside the road one could clearly see the town. As they reached the town it was clear that not the whole city was abandoned, no most of it was actually residents. As they walked closer to the riverside of the city it became more abandoned looking. "Cursed soil only worth fighting on" said an middle aged woman. Some of the audience entered some of the little more distant houses to avoid being in range of the arena. Most went over the canal to the other side where an old theater was located. It looked almost as well treated and preserved as the central arena.
Radhe went over the canal in a relaxed state. It seems as the books she had let Leandra read for her where from before this place was abandoned. There where lots of flowers and grass growing out of cracks in the stone roads. Some small trees had found foundation to grow in the broken towpath at the canal.
Leandra was wondrous looking at the theater. "Why is this theater so preserved when the surroundings have fallen so?" Nathan then suddenly appeared out of seemingly nowhere. "Well that is because we Legornians where very fond of theater performances. Or well we never stopped being fond of it. So even though the uses of this theater are rare nowdays we can't let it fall to rubble." - Nathan "Where you as fond of theaters as you are of arena fights today?" - Leandra "Oh no you can't even compare them. Only reason we have such audiences for the fights today is because it is one of few performances we can witness. All three arenas are actually old theaters. I remember when i was a young boy. I used to sit on this seat right here. I loved the performances, especially one named "The homeless beauty and the wizard." It was both very tragic and so, beautiful." Nathan started to get tears in his eyes as he seemed to disappear in old memories. "Well the time is soon. I must return to my co-hosts. I'll see you later i suppose" he said with a smile and teary eyes as he walked away.
The hosts had appeared on their seats on the top of the theatre but the tall man from the first to matches stood in the middle of the theatre. He raised his hands and Repeated his usual speech. ... "Our heroes will never die as long as we have faith in them."
"With a background of mystery and a purpouse to pursue what her heart desires, be it gold or be it life. She is alway lurking in the shadows but she is as vanished whenever someone search for her. I give you the one and only, Bafae the Vanishin Assassin The audience cheered her name
"From unfortunate history his body has endured and his mind has become ever so more powerful. Crippled in body he uses his ingeniuty to create workers of metal to do his bidding, an always loyal army. I give you the one and only, Mishra the Crippled Genius The audience cheered very highly the name of Mishra, some even said words as "saviour but some very also sceptical."
"Let the third... " ... "Let the fourth round of this tournament begin!"
Knocked out in the first round, for shame! Ah well, I greatly appreciate the Dark Souls-esque telling of Corscine's style! I was dreading how it would turn out but I can appreciate a good story.
On that note, @Gelectrode, way to make my character a coward from the start, eh? There isn't artist credit at the bottom because *I took the screenshot. It's my character.* Please don't drag other people's creations through the dirt to forward your own.
Jahanacicus was having a good chuckle now. What was the vampire thinking? You need to specify what upgrade you want if you don't want shenanigans like that. All spells work on all races differently. No wonder he lost the fight. (Note to future buyers from me)
He didn't even know who to sponsor in this fight. Bafae was annoying, but he had gained her trust. He admired Mishra, but making him any stronger would be risky, especially with the vision and whatnot. So he decided to not interfere with this one.
And the match was started. Mishra's assistent took the wheelchair and began moving Mishra into the nearest house. Bafae did not respond with any action. She knew that it might be a trap. She than came to mind. Mishra's assistent seemed, different, as if it was missing some pieces and the color seemed new.
"There is most likely some kind of trap, so i have to be cautious" She moved up on the roof of the house which Mishra had entered. There where no windows where she could peek in. She then heard a metalic sound behind her. She looked back and indeed, three assembly workers had just appeared on the street, ready for combat. "Is this it? no this must be some decoy."
Mishra unravelled the package which one of the assembly workers had brought here last night. "From Smith Master Krautus, Crastine. To Arfificer Mishra, Legorna." "I hope those merchants didn't overastimate your skills and assets Krautus."
Bafae jumped down on the streets again. Now she could hear two additional assembly workers moving within the house. She could not find any window that was not covered with planks. She must get in there but it is most likely a trap. "You think i'm that stupid, Mishra?" she thought. One of the assembly workers had now seen her and it alarmed the others. The two assembly workers came out of the house and joined forces. Two assembly workers attacked Bafae. She took a quick step back and threw two rune enchanted knifes at them, immobilizing them. One new construct came through the window behind her. Bafae had to move upwards so that she did not get caught. She could not fight everyone at the same time. She had to spread them out or lure them into traps. She began doing that. She went down on different roads hiding sigil marks under broken slabs, beind barrels and anything which seemed like a good hiding spot.
One of the assembly workers now came at her. She waited to see if the trap worked. As the assembly worker went over the sigil it gave away a shock of lightning, causing the construct to fall down a couple of yards away from her. "So what is your so called master pla.." The construct suddenly exploded, sending splinters and sparks at her. She dragged herself back. Luckily her armor stopped most of it. two pieces had stuck in her forehead and one just beneath her left eye. "I must give it to you Mishra, that was quite creative." Two other assembly workers now appeared from bot ahead and beside her. She jumped up on the roof but there where another assembly worker waiting for her. BOOOM! She had covered her face but the explosion put fire on most of her armor and disjointed her right shoulder.
When she had put out the fire, only the shoulder was left. She took some long breaths and with a quick pushed the shoulder back. It was not pleasant but it had to be done. There were still two assembly worker on the streets below. She still had her traps but this time she would keep distance. As she jumped down again she saw something amongst the barrels. It was a wooden shield. "hmm, might be useful" She then proceeded to lure the remaining two constructs into traps, one of which exploded like the earlier ones but now she had a shield. Well she have had her fun with the heavy piece of wood and threw it away. She jumped up the central house again to scout. Mishra was back outside again. Bafae readied her bow but Mishra was covered by an 7th assembly worker. She sneaked between buildin roofs but she could not get a good aim anywhere. Either the construct was in the way or the houses.
"What did he have for her this time?" she was thinkin as the jumbed down on the streets to confront Mishra. The assembly worker took stance to assault her but she just threw another enchanted knife to immobilize it. Mishra was turned away from Bafae. "What other surprises do you have for me?" she said as she drew another knifes. She heard a new construct in the house beside her. She stepped away from the door and readied another knife. When the construct came running out through the door straight at her she threw the dagger, but it had no effect. She took a couple of quick steps back and threw an electric bomb but it too was useless. She had to jump up on the roof to avoid this construct which she now saw was Mishras assistent. She was in good position for an arrow now but the construct jumped just in fron of her, forcing her to change roof quickly. She tried another arrow, but she did not have enought time.
"This construct. I can't stop it and I can't get an opening from it effectively." She hade to get rid of it. She jumped between the rooftops one after another trying to create a gap that was large enough. When she was satisfied with the distance she jumped behind Mishra as she drew a dagger. An 8th assembly worker appeared in the door charging at her. She did once again another backstep. She then felt an intense pain in all over her face. The splinters were vibrating under her skin. The assembly worker got in a powerful swing at her, causing her to fly into the canal to the sound of the audience. She climb out a bit downstreams where the audience nor Mishra could see her. She had to get rid of these splinters, she cut them out with a knife. She was bleeding from her face but the fight was not over. Hopefully Mishra did not expect her to return.
She was quite bruised as she sneaked between buildings back to where Mishra was. The assembly worker where gathering the scraps from the other constructs. "Good, I have an opening." she thaught as she readied her bow. She took aim at Mishra when she felt a movement behind her. The arrow flew straight into the air as she was hit by the assistant. She flew straight out in the open. The construct came up to her and put a heavy hand on her so that she could not escape.
"Why, why do you not kill me?" she said to Mishra. Mishra just sat silent. He was more concerned with the pale man who spectated the match on the other side of the canal. Bafae tried to think about something that could set her free and in the confusion strike Mishra down. She used her sigils and dagger on the construct but it did not even flinch. She tried an electric pulse but it only harmed her. The construct seemed to have been reinforced by some resistent metal arround its crucial parts. "Are you trying to humiliate me?!" She shouted at Mishra who did not respond.
She had tried anything she could think of. she had tried to reach Mishra with a throwin knife but the construct had stopped her. There where nothing more she could do. Her body was bruised and cold. She almost had no weapons left even if she would get free. She saw no other way now than to take the humuliation of losing to a cripple. "I surrender."
The tall host declared the winner and the audience cheered. "Is it because you don't speak to shadows" Bafae was thinking as she looked as Mishra. The assistant construct took up Bafae and carried her to the back of the theater where the priest was. On her way she could here some people in the audience speak "Should we really allow that kind of metal monster in Legorna?" "It is only one that seems to be dangerous though, and it is his personal assistent." "Yeah it's probably only that powerful to protect its creator" "The workers don't seem that dangerous at least so we probably do not need worry."
Mishra had on purpouse used weaker and cheaper versions of the assembly-workers and they would only explode if they where out of sight from the audience. He still had one fight left in Legorna and he needed the people to trust his assembly workers.
@DoctorFro: It has been awesome having You and Bafae here at the tournament. But sadly only one can stands as victorious. You know the procedure. You will get one favorite of each Bafae card you post including the first.
Update! Sorry for being so late with posting this match. I wanted to gather all data I could and the text became very long in addition to a burdensome week and it being the second of two matches on the same day. I became very tired and went to get some sleep. Also I am in the process of changing master thesis project and that have been somewhat psychological demanding.
I have decieded to not judge any matches today. I need to relax for once. (Netflix and chill, alone though.) It can probably be seen in the texts as i have made alot of spelling errors. I will also not judge more than one match per day as well as I am terrible of limiting myself. I hope you guys have understanding for this.
So for the future days. I will judge one match per day, Sunday - Wednesday The next match between Jahanacicus and Tiamat will be played tomorrow (4th of february) @HeroKP & @TenebrisNemo
( @Jonteman93 - Fantastic work! And please, don't overload yourself. Relax and take it easy. One match per day sounds good to me. )
Tiamat has never seen anything like this in her life. Strange, metallic beings that could stop a skilled rogue. The whole tournament has been quite an experience for her. She left the arena, and walked to the fields right outside Legorna...
Jahanacicus came out of the forge. He finally had all he needed. Was he overpreparing for a match against a frick*ng lil'girl? Probably. But better safe than sorry, and the ethereal gods knew that better than anyone else. That was as much as he could carry, so he picked out the items very carefully.
The list of items Jahanacicus has on him (to simplify judging):
Daggers dripped on slow, enfeebling and nausea-inducing potions (on the belt)
The sword of hidden truth [To stop Tiamat fully transforming into full-dragon mode] (behind the back held by a strap)
Semi-automatic bow and self-navigating arrows [courtesy of one of the merchants he made a deal with] (Across the chest and in the quilt)
Bracelets of fire deflection [useful if Tiamat does manage to transform] (On the arms, obviously)
And of course, ethereal magic worthy of gods (In hands and hair)
Also, I want to point out, purely from a gameplay standpoint, a blue-black deck would have plenty of ways to not let her deal any damage, and Jahanacicus would not let her use any of the mana that she gains back using the second ability.
(Well fought @DoctorFro. Well written @Jonteman93. I'm still curious about that package! Question: I know other winners haven't yet, but do the winners need to post there 5-mana version?)
Kara was scared. He was sitting in a corner, far away from he crowd at the abandoned town during Mishra's and Bafae's fight, with his back against a tree. Though his eyes were open, he was entirely absorbed in his thoughts. Why did nobody understand his predicament? He had tried to explain to anyone who would listen what would happen if he lost control... Kara just didn't want anybody to get hurt. He can't control his curse; it just was. He imagined what would happen if he lost control during the coming battle, eyes staring forwards, unseeing... ...Kara saw his opponent, Kaleezo... Kaloozee? Keemee? standing before him. He pleaded with him: don't do this! We don't have to fight or please the crowd or whatever! Trust me; it's for your own good..... %#&* that sounded like a threat again. He saw a burst of blue-purple energy erupt from Kalozee's staff, striking him in the chest, twisting around his head like a jagged crown. He saw himself scream and fall to the ground..... ...And suddenly he was back at the oasis where he had first known the full horrors of his curse. He writhed on the sandy ground. Out of the corner of his eye he saw Kerooza standing over him, laughing. Then the fish thing erupted from the water. Kara tried to tell Kazera to run, to flee, to get away, but no sound came out of his throat. Keezora turned, just in time for the monstrosity to clamp its jaws over his head and pull him, screaming and flailing, into the water.... ...Then with a flash Kara stood, surrounded by bandits in the sand. He screamed at them to save themselves, but his face contorted and warped, and only a dry croaking could be heard. He noticed that atop nearby dunes were clumps of spectators, all cheering wildly. He was struck by an arrow, and the last vestiges of his control vanished. A wave of eldritch force exploded from him, warping everything in its path. The bandits flailed and screamed, their clothes and weapons fusing to them as they were twisted into hideous shapes. A second later, the wave hit the crowd. There was chaos as people pushed and shoved to flee, but all were distorted before they could get away. Kara's face shifted back to normal and a scream tore from his throat. Tears stung his eyes as he saw the dozens and dozens of innocent people afflicted with his unnatural power, a burden only he should have to carry... ...Suddenly Kara stood in the abandoned town again, in the town square, facing off against Keemo. Between them was nothing but cracked cobblestones and a well. Again Kara pleaded: You don't understand, Kaybee! Please! I don't want to have any more deaths on my hands... dammit! Can I say one sentence without seeming intimidating?? Kerri laughed and raised his staff, but the crab monster from the oasis clambered out of the well with a spray of water. It carried Keera's headless and twisted corpse, and it flung it at the real Krooma, who ignored it and turned again to face Kara. His corpse stood up, facing him as well. The crab monster produced a head of cabbage and hunkered down by the well to eat it. The two Koobas advanced towards Kara to the cheers of the crowd. He backed away, but was suddenly surrounded by dozens of Kimas, all warped and twisted into strange patterns. He backed against the well, surrounded. The single un-warped Karee approached Kara. He reached out with his staff to touch Kara on the forehead. Just as the glowing tip of it made contact with his brow, Kara reached out and grabbed Koomo by the face with both hands. Kelzo screeched horribly as his flesh twisted and distorted. His staff became one with his arm. One leg bifurcated. His mouth opened and his tongue elongated into dozens of tentacles that flailed in the air. The audience fell silent for a moment, then erupted into applause as all of the Kurlos crumpled to the ground and dissolved into white, chalky dust. Kara jumped onto the edge of the well and bowed, exulting in the adulation of the crowd, rejoicing in the carnage around him. Then the crab monster stood and grappled him, leaping into the well and taking him with it. With a final flourish, Kara tossed his hat into the air as he disappeared into the darkness of the well. The hat hung in the air for a moment before tumbling down after him...
Kara gasped and shook himself out of his reverie. He was startled to find tears on his face. As he raised his hand to wipe them away, he noticed that his flesh had warped again. He waited for it to fade, but it didn't. He looked around, and saw that the ground for yards around him had warped. The tree he sat against was lifeless and twisted. Small insects cavorted, their carapaces replaced by smooth white bone and their limbs replaced by tentacles. A warped squirrel chattered at him from the tree with a dry clacking noise. Kara rose, shaken, and backed away, slowly at first, but then he turned his back and ran into the forest, not noticing the trail of distortion he left behind.
@Timmeh7o7, I am sorry that I did not properly acknowledge your screenshot. This would have been a great opportunity to write that you took the screenshot from Dark Souls 3 in the comments below. Even though many cardsmiths do not list artist credits in their cards, it is taken very seriously because unacknowledged artists can get very angry at our website. And as an artist myself, it really does annoy me when this happens.
As for dragging your creation through the dirt, I am certain that you got many notifications, as we were tagged a lot early on, and consequently many opportunities for you to add to the story yourself. I wrote to add to the story, which was just starting to grow. It was just creative writing. And as demonstrated in the actual battle, my writing probably had little to do with the outcome. If you wanted to add your own viewpoint before the battle, you were free to do so.
I apologize if I appear condescending and/or supercilious to you. I am just trying to solve the problem and not leave you angry.
Tiamat heard the goblins before she saw them in the field. There was the crunching of dry copper grass. The clanking of valuables absconded earlier that day. Guttural muttering, and squawking, and cursing. She calmly waited for the goblins, which sauntered into the clearing with disheveled laboratory robes and red-rimmed eyes. Both were barely shorter than her
"We are emissaries from Nivix, madam" the taller of the two goblins began. "We have noted a disappearance of a key body part for our contender, and we suspect foul play on the contenders' behalves."
A missing body part? Tiamat wondered what these goblins were talking about, but then she started to feel sorry for the metallic contender. It wouldn't be fun to be in Mishra's state.
"I haven't seen any metallic body parts lying anywhere, but if I find one, I'll make sure you get it!"
Then she continued her journey to the middle of the great fields with little jumps and left the two goblins behind her.

@Faiths_Guide
(Netflix and chill, alone though.)
It can probably be seen in the texts as i have made alot of spelling errors.
I will also not judge more than one match per day as well as I am terrible of limiting myself.
I hope you guys have understanding for this.
So for the future days. I will judge one match per day, Sunday - Wednesday
The next match between Jahanacicus and Tiamat will be played tomorrow (4th of february)
@HeroKP & @TenebrisNemo
Tiamat has never seen anything like this in her life. Strange, metallic beings that could stop a skilled rogue. The whole tournament has been quite an experience for her. She left the arena, and walked to the fields right outside Legorna...
I will post the evolutions later
Question: I know other winners haven't yet, but do the winners need to post there 5-mana version?)
"Where is it, dragon-child? Where is it?"
Said Jahanacicus confused with a spark of anger. He expected an answer.
