Outside in the streets, Neerayne saw a multitude of shops and many other small, everyday business. The sun was shining while she was walking in a rather composed posture, with her rather dull grey hood covering her head.
'It seems that they just see me only as a rather small fish in the pond. No wonder why nobody cares now whether I'm actually their prisoner or not. Or is it really? I still have this bad feeling as if like someone's always watching me since I was dumped here in the first place. I don't even know if I can escape from this whole mess. They'll easily catch me of course.' She sighed.
"Hmph, should really took that Jahanacicus person's offer about the blessing. Then again, dead man blesses no magic." She muttered to no one, still walking aimlessly under her downed mood.
There, down the street she glimpsed a shop that looked like selling weird and curious artifacts. Curious, she then decided to approach it and went inside. She didn't really know the name of it due to the difference between the alphabets in her homeworld and in her current place.
Inside of the shop, she couldn't really understand most of the displayed artifacts that were displayed there, but that didn't mean that she was completely oblivious to the fact that they radiated a sort of power. There was glowing large rings that floated on a sort of pedestal, then there were another glowing rings that were impossibly linked each other, then a multicolored still living bird that surprised her a bit, a floating and large metallic sphere, a multitude of gemstone jewels, a golden lotus...
'Why is nobody here?' She looked around but saw nobody. Then she saw something that interested her, a black longsword inside a glass box. The sword was a bit scratched here and there, but she could feel the dark enchantment around it. The design was pretty simple and it would be coming in handy for someone with swordsmanship expertise like her.
"Found what you like?" She surprised and turned her head around to see a black-cloaked person came out from a dark corner of the shop. The sound was definitely a male, and his face was pale like a corpse behind the mouth-covering of his. And she could definitely feel a powerful aura that oozed from him.
"Y-yeah, I'm just curious about the sword." She composed herself. 'How did- nevermind.' She closed her eyes for a bit longer and frowned.
"Hmm, you seem to be lost, am I correct?" He questioed with his gravy undertone.
She only nodded and held her rigid stance.
"Relax, my dear, I'm just the owner of this little business here." He then stroked his hidden chin. "Hmm, do you want to hear a story about the sword? It's a very interesting piece of artifact I got from another world too."
Neerayne tried to open her mouth, but it was interrupted by the finger sign of the ominous shop's owner.
"Now now, let me tell you about the story first. Ehem." He cleared his throat.
Leandra was making sure the vials where still in her pocket where she had put them. They where there. She took another look around trying to confirm her memory of the town maps. She hoped she were correct. Maern looked at Leandra which seemed very distracted by everything. No she was probably looking for a plan if she did not already have one. Well he had one of his own. "Let the 6th round of this tournament begin!
The start was given and Maern left no time for more for planning. he took a swing with his whip at Leandra which hit her right on the check making a bloody mark as she ran towards one of the doors which she seemed to have chosen in advance. She was now out of range for another swing so he took after her. Leandra's check hurt very much as she ran into the house and up the stairs. Maern came in a few seconds later. He stopped and listened. Upstairs! He ran upwards the stairs but was met by a locker coming down on him. He was forced into the wall by it. He pushed the locker down the rest of the stairs as he continued up.
"Where are you?" he said as he was standing in the middle of a corridor, slowly moving forward as he scouted each room. Then he came to a room where there where an open window on the other side. He looked out and saw a bent drain pipe as if someone had tried to climb down it. Maern did not need any assistance from some pipe, he simply jumped out the window and continued. Even where she was going she would sooner or later run into trouble.
Leandra was running just beside the canal trying to avoid her pursuer until she had found what she needed. When Radhe had asked earlier about those books with plants she had kept one specific plant to herself. Hopefully it still grew in the outskirts of town. She came to a wall at the end of the city. She could either ran back a little bit or she could go under the wall in the water. No I have to remain dry in case things would go wrong. When she went to the corner she dropped onto the ground as fast as she could. Maern where on the other side of the street. He did not seem to have seen her though. She had to get rid of him somehow. There were a log just around the corner. She had to risk it so she grabbed the log and threw it as far as she could in the other direction. The log hit the wall of a house. Maern look in its direction for some seconds. "Please go, just go" He began to walk in the direction of the log. When he where out of sight Leandra took her chance and ran towards the wall gate.
The gate was almost completely shut except for a broken piece where she could just get through. She was not at the edge of a forest at the side of the road. She began to scan the ditch for a yellow plant. There! Four plants where growing in the ditch just outside of the wall. She took out a piece of cloth and a small knife. She had to avoid the tags of the plant as she cut her way into the poison chambers. The chambers where like a powder in the cloth. She had far more than enough for both of them. now she just had to find a kitchen or somewhere she could burn it. A stick cracked behind her. It was a mercenary. She ran back and through the hole but the mercenary where at her grabbing her foot. She luckily got a kick into his face and he released her but now there where only a question of time before he found a larger place to get inside.
Her lungs began to hurt of exhaustion but she had to continue. She ran into the large house straight forward. Another corridor of rooms. She walked downward but as she walked past the last door it swung open and another mercenary grabbed her. "I got her boss!!" he shouted. She tried to get out of his grip but it was not possible so she opened the cloth piece and grabbed some of the poison sacks and smeared them into the man's face. He released her as he lowered his head. he began to make sounds as if the were to throw up. Leandra had to get going. She ran to what looked like a kitchen but her luck where not long running. Maern appeared behind her and threw his whip around her neck pushing her to the ground as he strangled her. She moved with all free limbs trying to kick him off but for no use. "You will get paid well for this." Maern said to the other man who now appeared. The man were very wobbly and seemed rather absent. He looked at Maern strangling Leandra. He picked up his axe, "What are you doing to sis!" he shouted as he swung the axe at Maern. Leandra got free and ran for all she could.
The man attacked Maern again but Maern just took the axe out of his hand swung it back into the man's head leaving a bloody scene. Maern took up his whip and continued where Leandra had run earlier. He walked down some stairs into a basement. There where a trail of broken vases which he followed. He came towards another of the mercenaries which turned around, this one also being absent as he shouted "You took my pig!" Maern raised the axe and separated the poor fellas poor head from his poor body. He later came through a corridor where light were coming out from one of the doors.
The fire was running and Leandra put three vials on the table together with the rest of the plant poison sacks. She mixed one of the vials content with the rest of the poison sacks. She heated the mix so it became a liquid and she then added another herb. She took off her jacked and the shirt. She took one of the vials and poured it on her hands and arms. She took the warm mixture. the last vial and knife from the table. "I really hope you were correct Neora" she thought as she made herself ready.
Maern came into the kitchen with silent steps and before she could notice him he put another stranglehold on her. She began to wave with her hands and then she grabbed a knife and cut Maern in the arms. She got in three cuts before he could hit it out of her hand. She continued o wave around, she got hold on the candle with she dropped onto the floor where her clothes where for some reason. Her resistance became weaker and weaker. She twitched some last times before she was completely still and silent. Maern let Leornas body fall onto the floor where the candle began to get fire on her clothes. He was panting as he left the room on his way back to the audience.
@HeroKP - No offense taken! Jahanacicus wanted to defeat his opponent at any cost, and I'm sure nobody wants to lose in this tournament, not even Tiamat.
If @Jonteman93 allows you to still add something to this discussion, you can PM me about Tiamat's and Jahanacicus's relationship. )
He continued to hit into box and locker after one another. His eyes could not focus and he was still panting heavily. He sat down for a moment trying to get back his energy. It did not become better, it seemed to become worse. He had to get back as soon as possible. He stopped when he suddenly heard a sound from the kitchen.
Leandra's body was lying in the middle of the room with the candle not far from her. the jacked began to burn really well. At the moment the flames touch her skin she jumped up with an extreme shock. Her heart were beating faster than it ever had. She was trying to get air but it seemed difficult. She felt extremely bad and ill. she was confused and lied down again shaking. She tried to scream but she could not make any words come out. Her eyes were pouring with tears.
Maern stumbled into the room with very little eyesight left. Leandra tried to scream once again but nothing. she waved around with her hands trying to find something regardless of her extreme shaking. She found a meat cleaver which she grabbed poorly with both her hands as Maern came towards her. She swinged around with the meat cleaver but it did little good. Maern used what little eyesight he had left and strike towards her with the knife. Leandra swung around with the cleaver again and this time she hit Maerns left arm. He grunted as continued to kick around and finally kicked his foot enough so he fell onto the jacked extinguish the fire. She continued to swing with the meat cleaver and got a hit right onto Maerns head. He screamed as he swung around violently with the knife as he could not see. He managed to cut Leandras hear, fingers and arms. She could still not scream. She only tried to remain in a corner but her shakings made it very difficult to remain there. Maern continued his attacks managing at least three additional hits on Leandra.
The priest where walking past a body of some mercenary on his way to the contestants. He stepped into the kitchen where he saw a bloody Maern in the middle of the room. Leandra was in a corner shaking extremely. The priest went to take care of Maern. The sign in ink. the burning liquid and then the fruit. As Maern left the room he went to Leandra who looked terrified at him. He poured the liquid over her and put it on fire but she was still shaking and the trauma she had been through was shining through. The priest opened a box he had. he picked out a small flask. He opened it and poured the content into her mouth. She began to fall asleep.
Leandra woke up on a riverside. She could hear music and someone sing. She looked around and saw someone or something siting on a large stone a bit away from her. She stepped up and walked there. As she came closer it was clear that it was not a human that was playing a harp and singing. It was some tall entity. It stopped playing and looked at Leandra. It then looked at a stone beside her. Leandra went and sat down on the stone while the entity continued to play and sing. Leandra had not felt this peaceful in a long time. It was like all her worries and fears just left her as she sat there beside what she believed to be some god. She sat there for what must have been hours on hours.
She then woke up and the trauma and all her bad memories where "cured". Not gone but made harmless. She lied in her bed in the residential building. On a chair beside her bed where a new jacked and a vest. She went back to think of that goddess being. She should go to the library and see what she could find out of them.
Sorry for the seemingly one sided story telling in this one. It felt best to tell it in that way. Also this felt like the most even match yet with the win going to Leandra mosly for her being a bookworm (Sorry I like bookworms).
@TheCenterOfTheUniverse Thank you very much for your and Maern's participation in this tournament. I would really like to see how Maern's character would become on higher levels but sadly, only one can win. I'm actually surprised that not more entries where like Maern. (so many rogues.) You know the procedure. You may post your evolution chain for Maern and you will be given a favorite of your choice for each step including the first.
BREAKING NEWS! The residence home of recently vanquished competitor Jahanacicus has burned down in a massive magical fire two hours ago. Local law enforcement suspects arson.
The fire was reported early in the evening by the Muffin of the Month Church Club which was holding a reconnaissance meeting a floor below, aiming to 'stamp out wickedness in the tournament hooey.'
"Well, we are all hard of hearing, but I was the first to notice that Secretary Tooga was screaming because her wig caught fire" reported President Esmeralda Wagwag, 87. "And then we realized that everything was on fire!"
"Time sure does fly when you're discussing important matters" Wagwag added.
Although the Muffin of the Month Church Club was unable to pick out many details as they spent much of their time running around in circles shrieking bloody murder, four members recalled two goblins 'galumphing' down the nearby stairs, as if trying to escape as quickly as possible.
"We were trying to peacefully summarize the number of ways we could boycott the nasty tournament when those two filthy gremlins darted through our meeting like bats out of hell!" said Muffin of the Month Church Club member Agatha Gribble, 79. "They were dressed in these outrageous blue-and-red robes, they wore these funny hats, and they probably looked mightily suspicious then. They even had this funny metal orb tucked underneath their icky armpits!"
When inquired why Mrs. Gribble did not report the suspicious activity, she said "Don't you dare question my judgement, you whippersnapper!" She then proceeded to chuck day-old muffins at the reporter, who fled the scene.
Although Secretary Tooga's wig suffered severe burn damage, no one was severely hurt or killed.
Law enforcement insists that local residents keep an eye out for two goblins that meet the prerequisites above, and report suspicious activity immediately.
@Jonteman93 I will post the next levels when I have the time. Admittedly I'm a bit disappointed, as I really liked some ideas in my head, but I'm happy with the result. Congratulations @Lujikul! Good luck in the second round
@TheCenterOfTheUniverse I'm sorry that you did not make it. I saw/see potential in both Maern and Leandra but sadly only one could remain. If you want you can write a last segment on what Maern does before his departure home. (Every player can do this as their champions does not suddenly teleport away from Legorna).
It is middle of the night in Legorna. Two watchmen are standing in a corner observing the residential buildings. "Is it really safe to have him continue the tournament. People have started to talk about distortions and weird magic." said the younger of them. "If Clementia would have been worried about him she would already have planned something as she did against Jahanacicus after the third match"Said the older of them.
"But Clementia have not been completely present since the Federation leader came to her last Sunday. I don't think she has the time to go in to these problems. Kara might not want to make harm to anyone but he does neither seem to be able to control his power." The younger responded. "Maybe you are right" "So we should let Vincent destroy him like Jahanacicus??" "Are you crazy!? Clementia would never allow that again, she is disappointed enough from the first. We would be served to Terrodus on a silver plate. Even if that would be a solution, Vincent has gone to the dragon's blue river. I heard it had been an outbreak of abyssal magic there." "So what should we do?" "The danger comes from his difficulty in controlling his abilities you said? I'll let Dask Vortel keep at eye on him tomorrow in case something happens."
@Jonteman93 definitely! Writing a bit about going home will actually work perfectly for my next card that I'm going to reveal, so I'll do this when I have time.
Tiamat was in her room, sitting at the table. Bright sunlight lit the room from an open window. An unlit candle, a quill, an inkwell, an envelope, and a paper were on the dark, wooden table. She took the quill and started writing on the paper. The only noises which could be heard in the room were her writing and the songs of birds which were right outside the open window, not to mention the sound of the bustling city.
Hey, Nathan von Moxartine.
I am sorry about what happened in your family's house. If you haven't heard yet, I broke a few doors and other furnitures when I hurried to the arena. I didn't know-
Tiamat's hands started to shake a little. She felt tingling pain within her chest. She got up from the chair, took a leather bottle of water from her bag which was next to her large bed, opened the bottle, and took a swig. The warm water relieved the pain until it vanished away after half a minute.
"Weird. I just had breakfast."
The dragon child sat down at the chair once again and continued writing.
- about Vincent's plan, but I shouldn't have destroyed things in my way. I hope the two soldiers are okay, especially the one who fell in water. I don't remember what he was wearing, but if he had any kind of metal armor, he must've sank to the bottom of the harbor's water like a rock. If you want to, I can fix the doors and other broken furnitures within your house. Or I can send you money so you can buy new ones.
I also want to thank you and the other people for looking after me. My time in this city has been slightly lonesome, but having friends like you gives me strength.
Your contestant
Tiamat.
Tiamat folded the letter, put it inside the envelope, licked the envelope, closed it, then wrote Nathan's full name on it. She didn't realize until last night how grueling yesterday was. Even though she didn't get a chance to actually fight in the match, the emotional ride and the chase was strenuous for her. Tiamat stretched in the chair and relaxed for a few minutes. I'm still here, mom. I'm sure you would be proud.
Today, the two wizards will fight each other. This was a match which Tiamat couldn't miss. She had only heard about wizards in stories and books before arriving to Legorna, but this time she will see them in action. There was plenty of time before the match would start, however. She got up, took her bag, then put the envelope in it.
"I think I'll track down Haide and finish our little match", Tiamat said with a smile. Even though she was mad when Haide prevented her from getting to the arena, the dragon child's anger turned to admiration and joy when the situation was explained to her. Now was the perfect time to train and get to know Haide a little better. As Tiamat took her bag and greatsword, the pain returned.
This time it was far more painful. It felt like she was burning from within. She took another swig from her leather bottle, which was on the table.
"If this keeps on happening, I need to get help."
Tiamat closed the bottle, put it into the bag, closed the bag, and walked to the door. She planned to deliver the letter to the house of the Moxartine family, train with Haide, then watch the match between Keres and Kara. The dragon child left the room while humming a song which she heard in her home.
Whoa, this whole thing kinda exploded. Anyway here's Neora's 3rd form at 7 CMC:
Had a hard time fitting everything on one card. I dread trying to get the 9 CMC all on one card. I also had to skip the reminder text for bushido, which I felt bad about. Hope people like it.
It is fair to say that Mishra didn't like Maern, but, he did find it odd that he hadn't managed to overcome the young Leandra. She'd taken pleasure in gathering knowledge while Maern was more than happy being brutish, but Mishra hadn't anticipated her library studies being enough to conquer the sturdy muscular foe. During this latest fight (and he was becoming tired of never being able to actually see the engagement) Mishra hadn't left his personal chair. Of course it didn't seem irregular as it was a tedious transition out of it and the non central arenas didn't have very nice seating.
Later that night Mishra couldn't help chuckling at the report he was issued regarding certain mages of the greener color and their less than legal activities above the Muffin of the Month Church Club. His first thought was that he should gain even more credibility by turning Bibble and Thibble over to the authorities. However, after some time building more Assembly-Workers, he decided he'd better let the proceedings run their course without interruption.
"If R5-T4 and his accomplices are to be punished," he thought "I need have nothing to do with it."
The Assembly-Workers had been so efficient in carrying out the merchant's assignments that there was a lull in work for them while more shipments were waited on. The most powerful of these merchants had begun making enormous plans for the future, one in which they'd deliver ten times what they currently did and earn ten times that. Of course, they'd need to solicit the help of Mishra. Not for his personal services, but for private Assembly-Workers of his creation. They wanted to own individual armies of these construct workers. Automatons such as these would serve dual purpose, protection and production. A number of the merchants had come to similar conclusions at the same time and had come together to discuss the prospects rather than carry on in secret. the reasoning was that they would stand a better chance of acquiring Mishra's help if they didn't do it in private and in opposition to one another. These merchants discussed the idea with Mishra.
"We've had an epiphany." Began the merchant elected as spokesperson by the others. "What if we employed you to begin construction of your metal men for purchase? The payment would be vast. You'd be supplied with whatever space and manpower you required to produce enough for each of us to own a few. Perhaps it could expand beyond that in the future and our trade would reach un-imagined heights!" The other merchants gathered inhaled as one, mentally swooning at the thought of such riches and power. "An epiphany you say." Came Mishra's response after a long moment's pause. "I fail to see my true benefit in it all." He continued in spite of the lead merchant's attempt to interrupt. "You see, I have no use for wealth. At least, not for Lagornian wealth." The merchants collectively held their breath. "I'll think on it." Mishra said this in a way that convinced each merchant equally that the conversation was over.
As the last merchant turned and walked away, Mishra smiled disconcertingly as he reentered his room. They had no concept of what they were asking. By forcing them to wait, the genius had actually intensified their desire for his acquiescence. Now, when he inevitably agreed, they would do all in their power to help and please him. He could have warehouses secretly acting as assembling foundries where specially designed constructs would assist in the creation of Assembly-Workers. Those could then be sold into the exclusive trade of one merchant or other and begin saturating the harbors. Mishra knew that some of the locals had become increasingly nervous around the machines, but he also knew that the ones occupied in commercial pursuits were becoming more and more accepted as they were "wholly harmless."
As he continued fashioning his current construct, the mastermind envisioned his future plan.
"If what you are telling me is correct. then we have to put the match in Trogon forest instead. The people will be told that it takes place in the central as was planned at first. Nathan will use a binding spell on Dask Vortel as medium so that he can create the illusions. Kara has to be escorted there as he might be extra fragile and unstable with the fight on his mind. If everything is understood we can begin."
A soldier came up to Keres "Your fight against Kara will be held in the Trogon forest in 2 hours sir."
The watchman that had watched out for Kara spoke to a soldier before he went to speak to Kara. "Your fight with Kara will be held in the Trogon forest in 2 hours. Tell me when we are ready and I will escort you."
Maern prepared to leave the morning after he lost. Trying to look at the bright side of things, he knew that at least he still had an entire city he could go back to.
On his way towards the port to leave Lagorna, he noticed the old man's shop yet again, this time stuck between two lavish apartment buildings. Curious how it actually moved, he went in, not knowing what to expect.
Upon his entrance, the old man looked up and smiled. "I thought you'd come." "I lost the battle. I just came to ask you-" "Who cares if you lose the battle? Admittedly, you used too much brute strength for my tastes, but I appreciate your decision to use outside forces to your advantage. The mercenaries were a nice touch." "So why are you telling me this?" "I've renewed my offer. I see potential in you. You only know how to use brute force, and have never actually tried magical means. That was why you lost. You can't rejoin, obviously, but who knows how magic would help you in your world." "So you'll teach me?" "Most definitely. Just step into the back room." Maern followed the old man through a small closet door, only to discover a wide expanse larger than the building itself. "Here, time goes slowly, so while you will train here for a year, you only spend 12 seconds in the real world. So let's get started." 17 seconds later, Maern left the shop, with a new set of clothes and looking overall much differently. He boarded the ship that was going towards his town, and never came back.
I will post the second and third upgrades later on, but this is the only one I will write a story for. I actually changed this card's flavor text because of the result. @Jonteman93 thank you again for an incredible contest!
Round 7, part 1 (I took some parts from your earlier "encounter")
Henric appologies the current condition to the audience and explained that the fight was moved because of a sabotage attempt by an earlier contestant. He then proceeded to present the two wizards while Nathan created the illusions of them. "Our heroes will never die as long as we have faith in them." The Audience repeated the sentence. "Let the seventh match of this tournament begin!"
"Where is the audience?" Kara was somewhat nervous at the whole thing. She had been escorted by a watchman and now the audience was not here. "There is reason to believe that an earlier contestant is after someone of you for revenge. Therefore you have been chosen to fight here instead." said a middle age watchman as they began to back away in different directions. Kara did not believe the watchman. They where most likely doing this because of him but it did ease him up a little as he did not risk harming any innocent people. "If the contestants are ready then the seventh fight shall commence. Contestants! Begin!" shouted one of the watchmen.
"You have some special powers but they will not save you here Kara" said Keres as he shot a burst of energy at Kara. Kara warps, missed by inches as the energy Keres blasted ricochets off the trees far behind Kara.
"Please, Keezee? Keezer? Keeree? I'm so nervous, I don't want to hurt you or anyone. Something strange is going on with my body and it could be lethal, maybe even for both of us!" Kara backs from Keres. Keres stops to think.
'If what he is saying is true, then there could be a profound amount of energy and knowledge to gain from defeating him in combat. I must not let an opportunity like this pass. I need to take all his knowledge and power from him, and add both to my own!' thinks Keres, as he readies himself to blast Kara again. This time, Kara closes his eyes.
"Please..." pleads Kara.
"Time to lose the tournament, Kara..." Keres says as he lunges at Kara in an all-out energy attack. Kara barely blocks the attack but he could still feel it within him as if he began to lose sanity. "Keseer! We should not fight, neither of us will get unscathed from this regardless of the priest's healing magic!" Keres did not listen to him as he continued to swing energy attacks at Kara who felt his control decrease. The ground around Kara began to warp. He had to take Keres down before he lost all control. Kara attacked Keres with his own spells but in some way Keres just repelled them with ease. They continued to throw attacks at each other where Keres easily and Kara lost more control.
Kara felt his arms beginning to warp and the trees around him. He had really difficult to keep control as Keres relentlessly shot energy attack after energy attack. Keres began to see how his opponent twisted into something very inhuman and the nature around him where clearly also twisting. 'What is he doing?' "We have to stop here and now! please!" Kara screamed. Keres could not allow his opponent to turn into what it was he were turning into. This fight had to end now. He used almost all magic he could generate in a last attacked that would destroy his opponent hopefully. He slung the energy bolt straight onto Kara who fell backwards. Kara felt the hit as he lost the little control he had left. He began to warp violently and the trees around him began to crumble. His vision turned darker as he warped more. He then felt a hit in the left shoulder, and then two more before it became completely black.
Rebuilding of R5-T4 delayed by absence of workers, who are evidently watching the battle between Kara and...Kiera? Or was it Karra? Maybe one was Keres and the other Korra. Whatever. Lack of distinguished names disquieting.
Kara began to wake up in some bed. She opened her eyes and saw the three watchmen in the room with one sitting on a chair looking at him. "What are you actually?" The watchman sad with a strict voice. Kara did not answer, he discovered that his breast and shoulders had a large bandage on it. He then realised that he was numb in the whole left side. "Mexotum extract, can put even a smaller dragon to sleep with only a bunch of arrows. You began to turn into some kind of monster so we had to put you down." Kara asked where he was and how long he had been asleep as he noticed some engraved bracelets on his arms, legs and around his neck.
"You are in the custody beneath the chapel and you have been asleep for three days. Those magic binders you have were put on you as soon as the priest got you here. Said that it would force a flow of dark essence to pass through your body and prevent you from twisting... to a degree, at least that is what he believed. I myself believe that you should surrender to your opponent and go home to whatever place you came from."
"So I won!? and Keres is okay?" Kara responded.
"Your opponent was very misshaped when the priest got to him, said that he never seen that kind of damage . He was brought to the chapel and treated for the whole night and most of the following day before he was considered restored. About your victory. according to the rules you had beaten your opponent but if you are allowed to continue is up to your host. Until then you will stay here under supervision from the priests and at minimum two watchmen."
1 day earlier "His magic and the wound on the other, I have never seen anything like it before" - The priest. "Would the clerics of Crastine be able to investigate it better and find a solution to our problem? - Bristana, the fourth host. "I do not believe that they would be able to find out anything that we have not." the priest responded. "We can't wait for Vincent to return, would it be possible to let him go free with the bracelets you gave him?" "Only if he does not completely lose control himself."
Bristana sat down in a wooden chair. "If the magic does not have any similar features with the abyss except that it seems to be consuming life essence of living things. Would it not be possible to give him a stone of the cold peak to prevent life essence from reaching him?" "It would not work my lady as the magic does not require external life, it only feeds and corrupts it." "Then we must send message Crastine and ask for one of the clergymen of the cathedral." "That seems to be the only way to avoid either execute him or sending him home."
The same day "Since our only reason to take the victory from the contestant is based on the assumption that he would lose total control. Yet the same man was put down within a minute by watchman Dask Vortel alone."
"Have we come to an agreement that the contestant will remain within custody until an answer had been recieved from Crastine about the clergyman? And thereafter remain under watch from minimum of three watchmen until a possible solution has been found? Then this meeting is over and we can declare the contestant Kara as winner of the seventh game."
@sorinjace I thank you very much for participating in this tournament. I hope you have enjoyed as much as I. You will recieve one favorite for each card in Keres evolution that you post including this first one. You may also write a segment of the story for what Keres does after his departure from the chapel.
@TheCenterOfTheUniverse I really like your last story. Those cards are absolutely awesome! I miss Maern already because those cards are lit. makes me wonder how the story would have went with him dying in the end.
Please send the four cards you would have favorized on a private message to me.
( @TenebrisNemo - Well the "Geomancer" subtype is technically Wizard, and, if you don't count him, then there are no other Wizards besides Kara's opponent. That's odd. )
Leandra had since recovered from the trauma, and was out and about once again. She'd been practicing her puzzle solving skills, but feared they wouldn't be enough. She'd gotten lucky in her last fight, and she needed to learn more about combating her opponents, including the monstrosity that was T1-54. Begrudgingly, she realized she'd need help from the most influential man in town: Mishra. She travels to his residence and knocks on his front door, fully intending to request a basic course in understanding the functions of machines.
(I'll post her next stage when I have the chance!)
Hans was standing and throwing stones into the water. A watchman noticed him and began to approach Hans with information regarding the upcoming match. When the watchman had come out on the beach Hans was suddenly gone. "Hans? Hans? where are you hans?"
Where did Hans go? stay tuned for more only on the tournament of champions.

"Once upon a time..."
Beware of brutality
[Updated]
@DoctorFro - Thanks!
@HeroKP - No offense taken! Jahanacicus wanted to defeat his opponent at any cost, and I'm sure nobody wants to lose in this tournament, not even Tiamat.
If @Jonteman93 allows you to still add something to this discussion, you can PM me about Tiamat's and Jahanacicus's relationship. )
Beware of brutality
Winner
@Lujikul
(so many rogues.)
You know the procedure. You may post your evolution chain for Maern and you will be given a favorite of your choice for each step including the first.
Congratulations @Lujikul! Good luck in the second round
"Maybe you are right"
"So we should let Vincent destroy him like Jahanacicus??"
"Are you crazy!? Clementia would never allow that again, she is disappointed enough from the first. We would be served to Terrodus on a silver plate. Even if that would be a solution, Vincent has gone to the dragon's blue river. I heard it had been an outbreak of abyssal magic there."
"So what should we do?"
"The danger comes from his difficulty in controlling his abilities you said? I'll let Dask Vortel keep at eye on him tomorrow in case something happens."
@sorinjace @MagicChess
The match between Keres and Kara will commence in 6 hours.
Writing a bit about going home will actually work perfectly for my next card that I'm going to reveal, so I'll do this when I have time.

@sorinjace & @MagicChess
Only Kara, Keres and three watchmen watching them are going to the forest.
Two with Kara where one escorts him, one with Keres.
On his way towards the port to leave Lagorna, he noticed the old man's shop yet again, this time stuck between two lavish apartment buildings. Curious how it actually moved, he went in, not knowing what to expect.
Upon his entrance, the old man looked up and smiled.
"I thought you'd come."
"I lost the battle. I just came to ask you-"
"Who cares if you lose the battle? Admittedly, you used too much brute strength for my tastes, but I appreciate your decision to use outside forces to your advantage. The mercenaries were a nice touch."
"So why are you telling me this?"
"I've renewed my offer. I see potential in you. You only know how to use brute force, and have never actually tried magical means. That was why you lost. You can't rejoin, obviously, but who knows how magic would help you in your world."
"So you'll teach me?"
"Most definitely. Just step into the back room."
Maern followed the old man through a small closet door, only to discover a wide expanse larger than the building itself.
"Here, time goes slowly, so while you will train here for a year, you only spend 12 seconds in the real world. So let's get started."
17 seconds later, Maern left the shop, with a new set of clothes and looking overall much differently. He boarded the ship that was going towards his town, and never came back.
I will post the second and third upgrades later on, but this is the only one I will write a story for. I actually changed this card's flavor text because of the result.
@Jonteman93 thank you again for an incredible contest!
(I took some parts from your earlier "encounter")
"Keseer! We should not fight, neither of us will get unscathed from this regardless of the priest's healing magic!"
Keres did not listen to him as he continued to swing energy attacks at Kara who felt his control decrease.
'What is he doing?'
"We have to stop here and now! please!" Kara screamed.
PROGRESS REPORT 227:
Rebuilding of R5-T4 delayed by absence of workers, who are evidently watching the battle between Kara and...Kiera? Or was it Karra? Maybe one was Keres and the other Korra. Whatever. Lack of distinguished names disquieting.
-------------------------------
Kara began to wake up in some bed.
1 day earlier
"His magic and the wound on the other, I have never seen anything like it before" - The priest.
Would it not be possible to give him a stone of the cold peak to prevent life essence from reaching him?"
"It would not work my lady as the magic does not require external life, it only feeds and corrupts it." "Then we must send message Crastine and ask for one of the clergymen of the cathedral." "That seems to be the only way to avoid either execute him or sending him home."
The same day
"Since our only reason to take the victory from the contestant is based on the assumption that he would lose total control.

@MagicChess
@sorinjace I thank you very much for participating in this tournament. I hope you have enjoyed as much as I.
You will recieve one favorite for each card in Keres evolution that you post including this first one.
