Sometimes ago before the outbreak happened, a particular dark skinned elf person was having a conversation with a certain person clad in a dark cloak in a particularly hidden but still-not-really artifact shop.
"For a dozen of those potions, they are technically just costed twelve silver coins. Here's also an advice for you because you're such a good person: Honey makes the effect of those potions much more potent." Said the cloaked merchant.
"...Well, that's... enlightening." Remarked the dark skinned elf girl, still in thinking position.
"Oh, and one more thing. It's about your sword." Added the merchant.
"Uh, what about it then?"
"You'll notice some different changes if it comes in contact with the essence of the abyss."
"The abyss?" She raised her eyebrow.
"In a few days, a sort of infestation will befall this region. You will understand it later. Oh, and after that you can also turn yourself into a wraith by channeling your black mana to your sword. A neat trick to evade deadly attacks or to infiltrate some unreachable places. It's almost like becoming a ghost, but you still can hit something with your sword because of its half-corporeal properties."
Neerayne didn't really sure how to react towards that statement. In the end, she just shrugged.
"... Thanks." And she smiled.
The hooded person only gave her an approval sign.
Present day
"Ugh, why I always forget about the honey stuff..." Neerayne grumbled while was mending the injured Garrett in front of her because another infected animal was ambushed the party while they were heading back towards the city.
"Maybe you're right because it tasted like grass, without anything that made it swallowable you know, ouch!" Commented the wounded young soldier after got a swipe from the clawed animal on his stomach. The wound was currently being bandaged by the dark elf girl.
After that, she then helped Garrett by the walking by letting him slung his hand over her neck.
"Let's not waste more time in this accursed forest, let's go." Commanded the captain of the party, and the other soldiers were also started to walk again along with carrying the previous dead bodies.
Neerayne just let out another sigh after she observed the carcass of the slain animal due to her quick reaction, although at the cost of Garrett's wounded stomach.
@TenebrisNemo Most of the soldiers that were departing with the ships was from the surrounding province, not only Legorna which by the way is the largest city with the best harbor in the province/region.
There are approximately 250-300 soldiers at total left in Legorna with an additional 500 militia. (The watchmen are not counted amongst the soldiers but they are 17 now after Howard's downfall.)
The better equipment soldiers and captains have something like this kind of armor. https://www.artstation.com/artwork/1l2w3 The militia mostly has a gambeson with some standard equipment.
Most of the soldiers of Legorna are more order keepers than they are warriors. (approx. 100) though are more experienced as they travel around the province for different reasons. Messengers, deliveries etc. Most of these were riding out into Trogon when the outbreak happened.
They behave as most soldiers of lesser settlement would in most fantasy settings. Half of the soldiers during their time on duty are walking the city. The other more experienced half are in the barracks or close to it. Soldier off time though do mostly what they want to do and the taverns are somewhat popular locations then. Also some guard soldiers on duty are here.
Kara's eyes blinked open. He was immediately confronted with something furry. He stared at it for a moment, uncomprehendingly, then sat bolt upright. It was a rat. Kara screamed a very high-pitched and embarrassing scream. The rat squeaked an equally high-pitched squeak as its form exploded with Kara's strange magic. It ran under the bed. A guard poked his head in and chuckled to see Kara, back pressed against the wall in fright, hiding from a rat. As soon as his back was turned, the creature emerged and scuttled in frantic circles, its many thin, segmented legs making clacking sounds against the stone floor of the cell. A bony carapace encased its midsection, and a thicket of tentacles exploded from the opening, all twitching furiously. Kara shrank back into the corner further. And then, before he could blink, what was once the rat had dashed across the room like tentacled lightning and climbed up his pant leg. Kara threw a fit, rolling and slapping at himself and screaming, but the guard had no reaction other than, "Not again." After a moment, the rat emerged from Kara's shirt and perched on his shoulder. Its tentacles hovered right over his face. He froze in fear as the creature wandered over his upper torso. It curled up on his chest, right over his rapidly beating heart, and lay contented. Kara stayed as still as possible, trembling slightly. He noticed that the enchanted bracelets that he had been given to suppress his powers - curse, he reminded himself - were no longer glowing. Instead, they were dull and rusted, the runes cracked and broken. Suddenly, Kara felt a wave of affection for the little creature on his chest. It was cute, in a way. He stood, the scion still clinging to his shirt, then stopped. Why did he feel an urge to protect the thing? It was an aberration, a slap in the face to the natural order of the world. He took it between his thumb and forefinger, and flung it against the far wall of the room, then knocked on the door. The guard opened it a crack and peered through. "Yes?" Kara held up one wrist and showed the man his broken bracelets. "I don't think these work..." he said. The guard blanched and hesitated, eyes darting wildly. He started to close the door, but Kara wedged his foot in the crack. "Wait!" Kara opened his mouth to ask the man to take him to the clergymen to be cleansed, but instead of words, a writhing mass of tentacles came out, ensnaring the guard's face. Without a sound, he warped into a vaguely humanoid Eldrazi, probably a scion or a drone. Kara stumbled back, shocked, as the tentacles receded into him. Then in an instant, he felt incredible guilt... for throwing the rat creature. Kara rushed over to the thing, feeling as though he had thrown his own child, only to find it completely unharmed. Relieved, Kara lifted it to his shoulder. Motioning for what was once the guard to follow, Kara strode out through the open door. He thought for a moment, then turned and went back into the cell. Wordlessly instructing the drone to hide beneath his bed, Kara merged with Ratty, sending it out of the room to scout around. He then lay down, feeling happier than he had in a long, long time.
@Jonteman93, what does Ratty (and through it, Kara) see?
Note: Kara is currently blind and deaf to his own surroundings, living entirely from Ratty's perspective for the time being.
So, to recap: - Kara can now command and merge his consciousness with Eldrazi that he creates - He is experiencing sudden and violent mood swings, as he loses his personality
Ratty went out of the door to Kara's cell and appeared in a corridor with stone walls and three other doors on the same side as Kara's. Ratty went through the different doors but all where just different cells. On the other side of the corridor there were two doors. The first door went to a wine cellar which seemed to also contain cheese and some bottles with something that looked like fruit swimming in some almost black liquid.
Ratty went to the other door. Ratty came into a room that looked like a workshop. There where a large working bench and many metal objects hanging on the wall. In a shelf ratty saw some metal rings that looked like smaller versions of Kara's bracelets. There were a bunch of daggers and tools in a basked on the side. Beside it stood a bunch of bottles wrapped with some silk looking material. The bottles seemed to contain some liquid. Maybe it was that flammable liquid the priest had used to heal the contestants wounds. There were many other stuff like candles but most of the other stuff was just mundane items.
Ratty could hear voices from above. There was a spiral stair at the end of the corridor that lead both upwards and downwards. Downwards was a door that seemed like it was sealed with some powerful magic. Not even a dragon would be able to break through that. What are they hiding? Ratty went up by the stairs and ended up at a large wooden door. The voices came from the other side. Ratty was able to crawl beneath the door and ended up in some small hall with stone pillars and decorated walls. To his left was the door out of the chapel. To the right was a chamber with an altar. In front of the altar stood six priests in dark cloaks and behind the altar stood the priest from the tournament. On the altar lied an animal that seemed to be infected with some black curse or something. It was strapped with some metal chain as it was very aggressive.
The priests spoke some prayer or something while the main priest took up a knife and cut the animals stomach open. Black blood spilled out of the animal who gave away a cold scream. When the animal had finally died, the priest took some powder and sprinkled it over it. The animal took fire and burned in a black-red flame. The priest took a step back and gave an expression of disappointment.
Then the door opened. A man in a black robe and a large tattoo on his bald head came in. He was followed by some mysterious man in a full covering cloak. The priest spoke "So you have finally decided to show up." The man which Kara assumed to be the clergyman looked towards Ratty who quickly hide behind a pillar. "Where is this subject of yours that troubles you so? The man said as he revealed a metal ring attached to a skull and a dagger. The priest took out a key and approached the wooden door which Ratty just had came through. Ratty ran to another pillar to hide behind. No one seemed to notice.
Oliver and four other watchmen appeared in the door. The priest looked at them and asked a little concerned "What is going on Oliver?" to which Oliver responded "Bristana wanted to make sure that the contestant is not subjected to harm unless he is provoking for that outcome to be necessary". The priest nodded and then put the key in the door and unlocked it. Kara then felt a huge pain and was his connection with Rattay was broken. Kara was back in his own body and he was himself again, at least for a little while.
A few moments later the door opened and the cloaked man entered. "I believe this is yours." he said as he threw something on the floor. It was Rattay. The man laughed and then went out of the door. "I now know how he looks like. I'll now leave him to you boys" before he continued to laughed as he went up the stairs. The clergyman looked in and then at the watchmen. "Get him out of here. I'll need space to work. Put him on the altar in the main chamber... And get him new bracelets."
@MagicChess Kara is brought to the altar above where the clergyman will investigate him and try to uncover his truth. He knows that Kara's powers are from another world and that he is some kind of puppet to a greater being. He does not know what or who though.
He will put new bracelets together with an aura (similar to the mark already put on him) on Kara while he does his "investigation". They will prevent him from transforming and dying from the "investigation" If it would be possible he would probably be able to "cut out" Kara's "curse". He is however more interested in his investigation. He believes that the powers can be contained somehow and unleashed when needed. with other words. He wants to investigate if Kara can be used a kind of weapon. Contained when not needed. Unleashed when needed.
As said by Oliver. Zaralim is not allowed to interfere unless there would be a need to. Zaralim has however left the chapel. Oliver and two watchmen will soon leave. The clergyman will after a while order the other two to go outside as he needs to focus. The priest does not like the clergyman's violent ways so he will also leave. The drone/scion is still in the cell.

Haide was standing at Legorna's gates with her hands crossed while staring at the clocktower. It was midday. The sun shined brightly in the blue sky, where only a few clouds sailed. It was rather quiet as well. She could hear faintly the waves of the ocean and the guards who were chit-chatting at the gates.
"What's taking her so long?"
A few seconds later when Haide asked that question from herself, she heard as someone was running down the road at her direction. Leather boots stomped on the ground as the individual ran in a hurry. Haide turned her head and recognized the person who had left a trail of dust behind.
"Finally."
It was Tiamat. She suddenly stopped running when she was near Haide, who had her usual armor equipped, and slid on the gravel road until she was right in front of the waiting watchman.
"Sorry that I'm late!"
Tiamat was panting silently and sweating a little. She had a new set of shining armor which resembled her old one. She was also carrying her greatsword, which had changed its appearance.
"I had to get my sword from the smithy. It was on the other side of the city!"
"Ah, I see. It's curved now."
"Yep! Now it's easier to maintain balance after each swing."
Tiamat took her greatsword in her both hands and demonstrated a few smooth swings to the air while keeping a steady stance. Haide smiled under her helmet and clapped a few times.
"You've improved a lot. I see your enthusiasm, but you better save it for the hunt."
Tiamat sheathed her sword. Her face was serious as she stared at the gates of Legorna. Radhe's injury and the funeral crawled to her mind as Haide mentioned the hunt.
"You don't have to go if you feel like you aren't prepared yet."
"I've trained with you for months and I've killed beasts before. I came to the tournament fully knowing that I would face powerful and ruthless opponents. I am fully prepared for this."
"Well, then. Let's get going, dragon girl!"
Haide walked to the gates and Tiamat followed her. The watchman nodded at the two chatting guards, who then informed the others to open the gates. After a moment of the sound of chains and hinges, the gates were fully opened.
"May Keralda herself sing for you, warrior of dragons", said the young guardsman to Tiamat as she passed him.
Calm winds of the sea welcomed Tiamat and Haide as they stepped onto the fields of Legorna. The gate made the same noises as it did earlier when it closed behind the two armored fighters. They walked along the road which led to the Trogon forest.
When they were reaching the outskirts of the forest, Tiamat saw as there was four soldiers standing at the forest's entrance. Two of them had standard Legornan iron armors and the rest had light leather armors. The ones with the iron armors had spears and shortwords. Those with leather armors were archers, one with a crossbow and one with a longbow. Everyone of them were young men except the one with the longbow, who was a young woman.
A fifth soldier walked from the forest's shadows. His silver armor and white cloak shined under the sun. His left arm was resting on his sheathed longsword's pommel.
"The flashy one is your squad's captain", Haide said to Tiamat.
As Tiamat and Haide were getting closer, they could hear the hunting squad's chatter.
"... animals only. On a sunny day like this, I don't believe we will see any Akons crawling up to the surface to show their ugly heads", said the captain to the soldiers.
"And even if one would, you could use your chicken cloak to fly away and alert the city", said the taller spearman while trying to hold his laughter.
"For the last time, this is NOT a chicken-wing cloak! They are the wings of angels, blessed by the priests with a divine spell."
"Humans with chicken wings, I bet."
"Tch."
The female archer turned around and saw the watchman and the dragon contestant of the tournament.
"Hey, they're finally coming!"
Captain turned his head from the blasphemous soldier.
"Perfect. Everyone, get ready!"
Haide walked to the captain.
"Greetings, Captain Niven. Here is the contestant which I told you about. She will help you in today's hunt."
"Ah, the child born of dragons. Or... is she her big sister?"
"No, this is the contestant... in the flesh. The power of dragons have accelerated her aging."
"I see. Well, we will hunt today with the strength of dragons at our side!"
"Try not to get yourselves killed", Haide said and started walking back to the city. She waved at Tiamat when she walked past her, and Tiamat waved back.
Leandra took out the paper she have been given from Fedron and put it on her desk. She sat in her room as it began to turn dark outside so she lit up some candles beside her as she began to read.
If you ask anyone of the gods they will most likely say that there is four of them. However there are actually six, or well they once were six.
Friyena The holder of the grail or the goddess of warriors and battle, love and compassion. Friyena is considered to be the most powerful of the gods and highest in the hierarchy of Lisakdonia. Every year a tournament is arranged in honor for Friyena and her knights and champions for their deeds against the enemies of the kingdom. Friyena is a hero amongst the people and Lisakdonia as she saved the city of Crastine from the Margeficus Akon a little more than twenty years ago. A monster resembling a dragon and the greatest Akon to have ever traveled the world. To compare them is misleading though as the Margeficus has killed more people than the other hundred or so Akons have combined.
Knights and soldiers of the Lisakdonian when going to war sing to Frieyna to watch over them. Our own Sir Wardnan once was a chosen knight of Frieyna. Today he is what is called a silent knight of hers.
Terrodus The watcher of the abyssal gate, holder of the key or god of death and dark essence. Terrodus once was a god of death as he guided dead people's souls to the afterlife where they would later be reborn into our world. He has however in the later thousands of years picked up the duty to guard the gate of the abyss since the great failure. Likely as Friyena, Terrodus has his own chosen knights. Most of these are abyss seekers that seek up wounds created by the abyss in our world and prevents them from spreading more. After that they begin to treat it. A process that might take weeks or even months if the wound is large enough.
Levirga The bringer of harvest. The goddess of life and white essence, Life and ferility. Levita is the one of the oldest gods that provides the world with life and fertile soil. She is also the god that blesses fertilization and is the most important god to young couples. Levirga was before the Lisakdonian invasion of Legorna considered by many to be the god of Legorna because of the fertile lands and animals we have here. Trogon is considered to be one of her homes in the world. People sing for Levirga at the beginning of the harvest season to show their gratitude.
Keralda The master of the harp, the singing goddess or the goddess of song, harmony and peace. Keralda is the youngest of the gods and could beside Levirga easily be considered the most loved of the them because of what they have ever done for the people. Levirga brings food to hungry children, Keralda brings peace to people in tragedy. People in sorrow and broken souls seek to Keralda so that their souls can be given peace and they can once again live in harmony. You have met her yourself in a moment of tragedy and trauma. Apart from the other gods, Keralda loves to hear the people sing and dance so they tend to do it for her even when they are not in need. As people sing and dance for her she sings and dance for the people.
Decaotus The bringer of truth, the god of loyalty, honor and dignity. The traitor god. Decaotus was once a god that acclaimed men and women that fought for their families and loved ones. A god that praised people to be loyal and true to each other. Decaotus was thought to be a the love of Frieyna until Ironically he betrayed her, the other gods and all of Lisakdona by going to land of Stelladora, the enemy of Lisakdonia. It is believed that He is the reason of the Margeficus attack and thus the one behind the war between the realms.
The abyssal god There is not much known about this god except that he was the first of them all and a protector of the world. Only the greatest of scholars and the gods even know his name. He is not praised except by a very few handful of priests. A few ones that tries to control the abyss.
Thousands of years ago this god saw a vision of demons, monsters or beasts not from this world. Beings that would render the Akons as weak and insignificant. Beings so tall that they would cover whole cities in darkness as they travel the world and consume everything living. Three beings that would consume our world and leave only a wasteland behind. In a desire to protect the world he tried to conquer and control this worlds strongest source of power. The abyss. To make it a weapon against these monsters if they ever entered the world. But. As the got more and more power over the abyss the abyss also got more power over him and in the end it took over and consumed him. As he lost control of the abyss was now had released upon the world. the other gods managed to trap it in what was earlier the gate to the afterlife.
He became trapped in the abyss to be tormented for eternity. Robbed by both his life and death. The abyss had been realized from its initial state and now seek to destroy. Just like the abyss let tormented souls back into the world as Akons and other beasts. It is believed that this god will once also return. As the abyssal avatar.
Today the battle between contestant Paradigm R5-T4 and Beq, Voltaic Monolith will commence. Since the damage in the Trogon forest has yet not been completely fixed the battle will held on the fields of Legorna at where the forest and river meets. Far enough away from the infected areas.
Kara jerked bolt upright in his cot as a searing pain racked his mind. The drone startled, jostling the bed from beneath. He grabbed his head in both hands and screwed his eyes closed. After a moment, the sensation faded, and he noticed that he'd lost his connection with Ratty. Kara stood and began pacing in his cell, pondering his position. He had only the drone left; not enough to escape. He could easily make more, but he needed creatures to warp. Then he stopped, horrified. What was he thinking?? He wanted to be taken to the clergyman to be cleansed. He didn't want the burden of his power - CURSE - any longer. He didn't want any more deaths on his hands. As he stood, wrestling with himself, guards swarmed into the room. He was grabbed by countless hands. Surprised, his po-- curse broke free from him, and two of the guards were slain, one dust, one a warped corpse, before he could wrestle his abilities into line. He was shackled and led away. He tried to stutter out an apology, tears staining his face. The distortion had crept up his body and now took up a good portion of the left half of his face. One guard slapped him across the head and roared, "SILENCE." Kara fell silent, cowed. Another tripped him and snickered when he fell. Kara looked into her face, outraged, but then saw the tears there that matched his own. He looked away, feeling even guiltier. He knew what it was like to lose someone... did he? Kara didn't remember anything like that, but was sure that at one point... no matter. He was led though twisting hallways, and he walked with his head down. Suddenly the stress of his multiple flashbacks caught up to him, and he sagged, abruptly weary. With curses, he was slung over the shoulder of one guard like a sack of potatoes. Uncaring, Kara let them, his head bouncing painfully against the guard's back with every step he took. Looking behind the rest, he noticed two drones now followed him, one walking like a man in his guard's uniform, a disguise functional only from a distance. The other scuttled along on the ceiling, suspended by sticky tentacles. Kara gave a slight smile. For once in his life, he wasn't alone.
The first match will begin in 40 min. I will also change one thing about the judging. The crowd-support aspect will change to simple character-influence. Otherwise this would be very unfair towards some contestants that by nature doesn't have the same opportunities as others.
"Bibble, Thibble, how nice of you to come. Now, what is it you wanted to discuss? There isn't much time before your construct's match, so you'd best be brief and to the point. I have no intention of helping you make your champion stronger, but, I should say that he stands a very good chance of coming out ahead in his upcoming test. If you wish to discuss artifice I would be delighted. My first question would be where you've acquired mizzium. Did you bring it with you?"
The fields where the very open on the locaion where they would fight. There were no farms for at least hundreds of yards away towards the sea and Legorna. In the other direction the Trogon forest raised up as a wall at the side of the fields. Down the valley the river was bending towards the Abandoned town. The audience had taken seats on some temporary wooden benches on a hill between the fighters and Legorna. There were very few watchmen present at this time and only three hosts had showned up, Fedron, Nathan and Clementia. It looked like she was streesed but for the moment tried to relax to the calm winds of the plains. Nathan stood up and presented the contestants. He did really not have the same deep voice as Sir Wardnan but it did not matter. It relaxed Beq to hear him present her. He was a little confused when he presented R5-T4 though so he ended up just calling it the metal champion of magical metal. Beq believed that Nathan tried to make a joke or something there.
During the speech, Beq had felt of the sourroundings for any size like the quarry like the first match. There were no such size close but she could feel a body of cracked granite below her. If she could not find a quarry she just simply had to make her own.
The priest where pouring some kind of powder arround the arena and cast some enchantment over it before Nathan procceeded to the usual. "Our heroes will never die as long as we have faith in them." which the audience repeated. Nathan remained silent for a moment as he searched his pockets for something. He threw up some small bombs that created large pink and red clouds as he shouted. "Let the first quarter final of the 16th tournament begin!"
Beq was forcing stone after stone up from the ground to fling towards the robotic opponent. The first ones were really difficult to get up as the ground was covered by biological contents that held it together as grass and other stuff but the more she flung stones the looser the soil became. Her opponent was not as quick or as brute as it had been during its last fight but it was more sophisticated in its moves and it did not malfunction any longer.
Most stones and boulder missed the metal person but some hit it swinging it some yards into the air. Whenever Beq got the chance she channeled lightning to "jump between the airborne stones and strike the R5-T4. It did not seem to do much if any damage but Beq did try it either way. Could maybe damage something within. It became easier to fling the boulders but the metal man seemed to be better at predict where they came from and destroy them with quick strike with its transforming arm.
Paradigm R5-T4 did have difficulties moving towards the girl as the storm of stones that was constantly flung towards it. The stones did not do much damage to R5-T4 but some parts were beginning to tale damage. the girl needs to be taken down fast or she would break those parts and it would become too difficult to avoid her stones. R5-T4 moved forward as well as it could on the field that earlier had been completely green and now was a mix of brown soil and green plants and grass. The frequency of stones began to decrease. This was its chance to get a strike onto the girl. R5-T4 moved swiftly on a blind spot it had found from Beq's stone barrage.
Beq must have thrown hundreds of stones at her opponent when it found a opening in her barrage. It killed distance between them swiftly. She forced a wall of stone to appear in front of her just before R5-T4 destroyed it in a powerful swing. Beq sent a forceful amount of lightning at the metal man but it did not do much more damage than the pure push backwards. The grass around her took fire from the lightning. R5-T4 was only pushed back a short distance before it leaped towards her again. It got a hit on the left of her waist. She pushed up a new wall of stone with great velocity under the metal man to throw him towards the forest. The metal man must have flied 70 yards or something. That did however took much of her power and she began to bleed badly. She ran as well as she could over the brown field to the side on the opposite side from R5-T4.
Paradigm R5-T4 was airborne for a couple of seconds before it landed. R5-T4 was beginning to take damage but the girl had taken depleted her energy much more and would soon be powerless. Beq screamed from across the field. She lied on her knees with her hand on the ground. From the brown field hundreds and hundreds of stones and smaller boulders flew up and towards R5-T4. It had to take defensive position as the stone rain was too massive to doge or break. *BOOM, KRASH, DUNCH. After 20 seconds of constant stone rain it stopped and R5-T4 could move up from its position. It was definitely damaged now.
------------- Configuration damage report. ------------- Left ankle dismembered. Right arm section - broken. Energy core - damaged. minor damage to body structure.
R5-T4 looked back at the girl. She sat down with her hand on her wound. she was bleeding heavily and was very exhausted. She would most likely faint from blood loss soon. R5-T4 started to walk towards her to finish the job. Take her out as soon as possible so that the match could be over. When R5-T4 walked over the brown soil it could see that she was channeling mana with her right hand as if she was holding something. Why would she. Then she released her grip.
The ground all around R5-T4 lost its support and began to collapse. R5-T4 tried to run off but it had too many damages to escape. It fell down into a deep hole and hit the bedrock beneath. It could hear Beq scream at the top and then the whole surrounding walls collapsed in. R5-T4 could not escape and the massive blocks crashed right down onto it.
Beq looked at the hole that had collapsed before her. I hope this is enough She shut her eyes for a moment but it must have been 5 or more minutes. After a long while she felt something move before her. She opened her eyes.
Damage re... Daamm. ga. Daamage. Damage repopopo... Dama. Report. Damag.er ERROR. configu. Config. Co... Damage. Warning. Warning. High damage. Extreme critical damage to. Damager. Error. Error. Less than 3 minutes to shutdown...
Before her stood. No lied. She was not sure. R5-T4 was in front of her but it was so heavily damaged that she could not even make out were its head was anymore. It just was there in front of her with what appeared to be a broken knife or something in its arm which it could not really hold up. Some liquid or something seemed to leak from it but she was not sure. Beq was so exhausted and had lost so much blood from the wound and the struggle that she could not even push the metal man down the hole again. She could not keep her head up anymore and she collapsed.
If this battle would have happened between R5-T1 and Beq, Geomancer Extraordinaire in the first round I am sure that Beq would have won. Beq was very interesting for me from the start and I believed that she would make it as far as the semi finals if not even the finals itself. However as the first round was finished and the 5 mana versions was released I believe that Beq did not evolve as well as many other characters.
Beq may be the one of these two I still like the desing of more. But Paradigm R5-T4 has a better card design in my opinion. I am still confused bu R5-T4s story as it feels more like a head hunt (literarly) than anything else with some annoying goblins. Even if it is messy it got my interest. Beq had a very good background story sadly she did not have as good character development as R5-T4. I had decieded who would win rather early but I wanted to really give Beq a powerful ending. I hope I succeded in giving her that.
@Swegboss12 I thank you and Beq very much participating in this tournament game. I will give you one favorite of your choice for each card in Beq's evolution that you post Plus 1 favorite of my choice since you got to the quarter finals. You are also very much welcome in writing a last story segment for Beq and what she does after this match.
I still need to post Bafae's evolutions...but I am keeping up with the battles and scenearios and they are so cool! Awesome job. May I bring up the suggestion of having the winner host a tournament but not the same because tourney stuff is more interesting in my opinion than straight up competitions. I mean the winner of the whole thing by the way.
The matches will be played at approximately the same time as this one, that is 20:00 CET. If anyone would want their match date changed for some reason please contact me as soon as possible and I'll see what I can do.
@DoctorFro I agree with Tenebris. wait until the tournament is close to the final. It is however completely up to the winner if he or she wants to host a new game and if so. He or she deciedes how it is played. story or no story and such.
@Jonteman93 (My character is currently in a camp outside the city at the edge of the city along with a group of soldiers, guarding the perimeter. It's a sort of like first line of defense, where are also many other group of soldiers who are stationed and scattered around the city to keep watch over the incoming outbreak.)
@Swegboss12, Head Architect Thibble wishes it to be known that it was a pleasure to do battle with Beq. We found her to be an excellent challenge, and we hope for a glorious future for this promising geomancer.
@Jonteman93, thanks for arbitering the challenge! Concerning lack of story, I promise you that I am merely setting up the stage for what happens next. Stay tuned!
@Gelectrode I'm not saying that you lack story. I believe that my explanation was a little badly written as it appeared as bad critic. What I meant is that it felt like it was all over the place. Not neccesarily in a bad way. Sorry for the miss explanation.
Neerayne began to prepare her equipment for the upcoming match against Mirshra. Garrett stood at the side looking at all the stuff she packed. "You are going already?" "Yes I want to look around the town before the match begins, increase my chances and so." "Well so you know, we will cheer for you during the game. I would have loved to come with you but well you know, guard duty." Garrett said. Neerayne put her hand on his shoulder. "I know that you will and I thank you for. Well see you after the game then" She said as she began to walk towards the abandoned town.
Mishra was already in town when Neerayne arrived. His assembly workers were helping some men in theater section. They seemed to do some renovation or something. Mishra took a quick look at Neerayne before he continued to oversee the operations. The match would begin in just a little more than an hour. It should be enough time for her to look arround and Mishra seems to not be interested in interupting her so. Let's begin.
The audience began to enter their seats in the theater. Four assembly workers that had been working with the renovation now went over the canal to the arena. Six other stayed and continued their operations. "So they have allowed you to use your assembly workers again? Were they not intimidationg enough last time?" She thought for herself as she looked at Mishra. "Let's see if I can use them to my advantage."
Sir wardnan was absent this day as well so Nathan began to present the contestants as everytime. He gave thanks to Neerayne for her assistance in the Trogon forest the last time and Mishra for his assembly workers' cooperation. He then ended with the usual. "Our heroes will never die as long as we have faith in them"which the audience repeated as always. He threw new color bombs into the air. these where purple and blue. "Let the second quarter final of the 16th tournament begin!"
The match had begun. Mishra had his personal assistant beside him and his four assembly workers spread out. Neerayne knew what that personal assistant had done towards Bafae. She would not let the assembly workers take her out of guard, she would take them out of guard. Neerayne disappeared amongst the buildings. Mishra ordered two of his assembly workers to get after her. Unlike those he had used during the match against Bafae these ones were made for battle. Mishra did not need to fear that the crowd saw his machines combat abilities. He was however somewhat grateful to his opponent that gave him an opportunity to not reveal them. yet.
Mishra wanted to check some things on his chair so it was ready in case something went wrong so he let his assistant push him into the same house as last time. During his check he noticed the special metal pieces from smith master Krautus that he had installed on his chair this time. "I should make a visit to you Krautus when I get to Crastine" He thought loud. After some minutes he heard one of the assembly workers return outside. His took pushed Mishra out of the house and correctly one of the assembly workers were returning. It was empty handed, no body of the elf. Why is it returning without the elf? Mishra thought. It seemed to be damaged though so Mishra ordered one of the other assembly workers to take care of it.
When the constructs came close to each other the damaged one swung a heavy blow against the other and destroyed it. Msihra's assistant directly went and took down the defect construct. Msihra could hear the audience speak. This must not happen again. The other assembly worker now came out of a door behind some houses. Mishra ordered his assistant to check it out before it came within the audience's view. Indeed did this one too attack but was quickly taken down. "So you are using my assembly workers against me?" Mishra gave sign to the assembly workers still busy with the renovation to come over. He ordered two of them to go together and search for the elf. Meanwhile Mishra attended to investigate the malfunctioned ones.
Neerayne was hiding in the dark ceiling in the house where the two assembly workers entered. She held the duskbringer in her arm while she waited for a good opportunity. One assembly worker went under her and then the other. She dropped down behind the second one and struck the sword through its body but not through anything vital. She used her magic to manipulate the construct through the sword. Who knew that constructs were so easily manipulated when the metal shell had been passed through. The other construct turned around but she was already finished with this one so she jumped over to the other and repeated the procedure. "Sadly that I can't teach them to attack on order though" she thought as she removed the sword from the second and they disappeared out back to Mishra.
Mishra saw the same wound on both of the defected constructs. The elf had somehow manipulated their control disc and made them mindless. At least for a while long enough for them to get back and attack him. He heard the other two approaching. They had the same wound. They were soon taken down. Mishra was somewhat ill-tempered "You have cost me five assembly workers elf. Well no matter. I will take you down myself." Mishra took his three remaining assembly workers and the assistant and moved to the location where the two earlier ones had come from.
Neerayne sat in a dark window as she scouted on her opponent and his four constructs. "Why are you coming yourself? Do you not want your constructs to be alone with me" She thought as she laughed a little to herself. "That assistant will be tricky though. If I can't manipulate it I have to somehow destroy it." Mishra and three constructs were waiting on the street while a last one searched the houses. They were watching and listening. Some houses later they got to the house where Neerayne was. Mishra is definitely waiting for her to make her move and the storm over her, but she have a secret weapon on her own. The assembly worker appeared under and she initiated her plan. As she manipulated this construct she heard the assistant coming in towards her.
She hid in a corner and used her magic to make her disappear. The assistant came in and put the lesser assembly worker down with ease. Now. Neerayne took a second and transformed into a wraith form. She went inside the assistant kind of and with the duskbringer struck it from within. It worked! She was able to manipulate the assistant. It did take longer and more concentration but it worked. She heard another construct approaching. She was finished with the assistant and turned around the corner and with a swing she attacked the other construct. *Ting!
It did not penetrate. She then saw that it was not a regular construct. This one was darker and looked more human. The construct swung at her but she could easily doge it. It seemed to move rather slow for some reason. As if it was not finished... or it had been sabotaged. The assistant showed up and forced the new construct through the wall into the other room. The new construct pushed the assistant into the wall. While the two special constructs were fighting she began to move towards Mishra to end the match. She could not see her opponent anywhere as she came outside. She looked around. She saw one of the constructs entering a building further down. She followed it.
Netanya got into a old house which smelled strongly of mold and it was difficult to see because of lots of dust in the air. "Why would he go into this house. Probably too lure me .However I don't need to see to find you Mishra" she thought. She went further into the building and down a corridor. After a minute she felt three constructs and a cripple. "So your construct won over the assistant I see" She was thinking as she empowered the duskbringer to take down the construct. That merchant had helped her with an enchantment that would be able to destroy any metal, even the assistant of Mishra. It must work in this one as well, even if it did outmatch the assistant but she only had one chance so it had to be done correctly.
Mishra was in the other end of the room she appeared in and the constructs was in a room just to the side. An ambush. Well I won't fall for that. She took a silent and deep breath and turned around the corner as she struck down the construct. The other two constructs where in the back of the room and began to shake loudly as of fear, and their core began to shine blue. They were rather distracting. She got a minor glimpse of the construct from the blue light. It was... the assistant!? But ho... A cold feeling took over Neerayne's body. She looked down on her chest and saw that she had been penetrated by a metal hand. Wh who..?
Mishra watched as the elf fell lifeless onto the floor. He was lucky that he had investigated the assembly workers or he would not have been able to modify the assistant to resist her manipulation powers to a mere 30 seconds maximum. Otherwise it would have destroyed him as something, or someone have done something to his armor making it difficult to see, hear and move correctly. Who knew that I had this armor and was experienced enough to know what to do? There is only one other construct in all of Legorna. He had to think more about that later but now he would return with Neerayne's body to the audience. He could be seen as a hero for a little bit longer before he leave for Crastine. There if not earlier, the goblins with pay for their miserable sabotage attempt.
Best Card: Mishra, Self-Enhanced Best Caracter: Tie with minor advantage to Neerayne
Neerayne did not feel particular special to me before the first round. I even had difficulties to grasp that she was a woman. She did however grow very well after the first round was over and became rather significant for the whole Outbreak story. While Mishra stayed on his clear path Neerayne really defined herself here. I could see her as the character she is.
When it comes to the cards. I believe that Mishra, Self-Enhanced is a more interesting and better designed card than Nerrayne's. I feel that her card is more difficult to evaluate but I can't deny that I feel that she is too powerful in the right deck while being very difficult to play against. Mishra is powerful but not unstoppable. Neerayne in the wrong/right conditions is. This is mostly what I evaluated the result from. This of course is just my evaluations.
@sanjaya666 I thank you and Neerayne very mich for participating in this tournament. I will give you one favorite of your choice for each card in Neerayne's evolution that you post including these two. Plus 1 favorite of my choice since you got to the quarter finals. You are also very much welcome in writing a last story segment for her and what she does after this match. If you would like to finish your outbreak story you might do that. Neerayne is in a way hired for the deed.

Flashback
There are approximately 250-300 soldiers at total left in Legorna with an additional 500 militia. (The watchmen are not counted amongst the soldiers but they are 17 now after Howard's downfall.)
The better equipment soldiers and captains have something like this kind of armor.
https://www.artstation.com/artwork/1l2w3
The militia mostly has a gambeson with some standard equipment.
I hope this answers your question
"Yes?"
Kara held up one wrist and showed the man his broken bracelets.
So, to recap:
- Kara can now command and merge his consciousness with Eldrazi that he creates
- He is experiencing sudden and violent mood swings, as he loses his personality
The priest spoke "So you have finally decided to show up."
The man which Kara assumed to be the clergyman looked towards Ratty who quickly hide behind a pillar.
They will prevent him from transforming and dying from the "investigation"
If it would be possible he would probably be able to "cut out" Kara's "curse".

"Alright, squad! Let's get going!"
Leandra took out the paper she have been given from Fedron and put it on her desk. She sat in her room as it began to turn dark outside so she lit up some candles beside her as she began to read.
If you ask anyone of the gods they will most likely say that there is four of them. However there are actually six, or well they once were six.
Friyena
The holder of the grail or the goddess of warriors and battle, love and compassion.
Terrodus
The watcher of the abyssal gate, holder of the key or god of death and dark essence.
Levirga
The bringer of harvest.
Keralda
The master of the harp, the singing goddess or the goddess of song, harmony and peace.
Decaotus
The bringer of truth, the god of loyalty, honor and dignity.
The abyssal god
There is not much known about this god except that he was the first of them all and a protector of the world.
As Septhis.
Since the damage in the Trogon forest has yet not been completely fixed the battle will held on the fields of Legorna at where the forest and river meets. Far enough away from the infected areas.
@Gelectrode @Swegboss12
The crowd-support aspect will change to simple character-influence. Otherwise this would be very unfair towards some contestants that by nature doesn't have the same opportunities as others.
VS

Configuration damage report.

Left ankle dismembered.

Best Card: Paradigm R5-T4
Best Character: Draw
I will give you one favorite of your choice for each card in Beq's evolution that you post
Plus 1 favorite of my choice since you got to the quarter finals.
You are also very much welcome in writing a last story segment for Beq and what she does after this match.
@Gelectrode & @Swegboss12 - Well fought, both of you.
@DoctorFro - I would like to see this tournament come to an end before we start thinking about new ones. )
Q2: Monday 20th
Q3 Wednesday 22nd
Q4 Thursday 23rd
The matches will be played at approximately the same time as this one, that is 20:00 CET.
If anyone would want their match date changed for some reason please contact me as soon as possible and I'll see what I can do.
@DoctorFro I agree with Tenebris. wait until the tournament is close to the final.
It is however completely up to the winner if he or she wants to host a new game and if so. He or she deciedes how it is played. story or no story and such.
(Let's just salt the arena with magical salt so the combatants will never die. Lel.
Just kidding, boss.)
Neerayne VS Mishra
@sanjaya666 @Faiths_Guide
@Jonteman93, thanks for arbitering the challenge! Concerning lack of story, I promise you that I am merely setting up the stage for what happens next. Stay tuned!
What I meant is that it felt like it was all over the place.
Not neccesarily in a bad way. Sorry for the miss explanation.
VS
If I can't manipulate it I have to somehow destroy it."
Mishra and three constructs were waiting on the street while a last one searched the houses.
@Faiths_Guide
Best Card: Mishra, Self-Enhanced
Best Caracter: Tie with minor advantage to Neerayne
