Hope you like it Also, I'm glad you share my enthusiasm for flavor text. Always try to cram those into the card if possible. (Also I found an exclamation point followed by a full stop. Please overlook this silly mistake, I have no patience for a full redo, thanks )
This contest is now closed for entries. There are a lot of cards to get through and I've got a really busy weekend so I probably won't be able to get results out until some time next week. Watch this space!
Hi everyone. Here are the results. This was a tough one to call and the top 10 to 12 cards were very difficult to separate. On a different day with a different judge the results might be very different. Where things were pretty much equal between two cards, I took little things like spelling, grammar, templating, etc. into account to make a decision. There were also a couple of instances of otherwise good cards that perhaps didn't sync the flavour together between card name, art and effect or where there was a question mark over balance. And of course, as mentioned right at the beginning, solid commons and uncommons were always going to catch my eye.
3rd Place Veracious Parley by @ManaChrome We don't see enough parley and this makes good use of it in a very fun card.
2nd Place Cartographer's Insight by @KalamMekhar A very clean, solid and simple design. Great choice of art and the card name pretty much tells you what the effect will be before you read it. Not flashy or super exciting but it doesn't need to be. A really nice common.
1st Place Azorius Interrogator by @TenebrisNemo This was a fantastic early entry that remained my number 1 choice throughout the challenge. Very clean and solid. This thing practically oozes flavour. Narrow, sure, but in the context of the intended format it's a very nice effect.
Woah! Didn't expect to place on this contest! I don't have any specific card in mind, so just visit my library in your free time and like what you feel is interesting! ^-^

About your entry, you'll need to reveal the drawn card to make this work.
I do love me some cantrips.

Not necessarily made for the contest, but the stars did align quite nicely, so why not make it an entry!
Thanks, I totally overlooked that! Here's the revised version:
Changed my final entry. If you want me to send in something a bit more, well, family friendly, then do let me know.
Flavor-wise... he didn't keep his end of the bargain.
EDIT: Rebalanced.

This was a fantastic early entry that remained my number 1 choice throughout the challenge. Very clean and solid. This thing practically oozes flavour. Narrow, sure, but in the context of the intended format it's a very nice effect.
So I believe the points are as follows:
@TenebrisNemo - 1 point
@KalamMekhar - 3/4 point

I assume that's correct, @Corwinnn?
Also, winners hit me up with which cards you'd like faved.
Thanks everyone for your entries!
Please fave any five cards of mine which you personally like.
The points are correct, by the way!
