Xanther and Walhavia lead the ally aliens that help the humans protect Earth. Their race is called the Enubis(like ours is called Humans case you need some clarity.) Can't forget about the forerunners in the underground illegally using aliens to their own advantage.
And another for the Earth Humans. This is the Rusviet Battle Armor, used in the territories formerly known as Russia, as well as parts of Eastern Europe and Central Asia that used to be part of the USSR.
The World government is strong, but different parts of Earth are broken into territories. Though the United World Government (UWG) is in charge of Space defense and Earth policy in the stars, the individual ground defenses of each region are largely up to those who live there. As such, in the tradition of many Russian leaders before him, and in the face of invasion, Sergey Vadik, Commissar of the Rusviet Territories built his defenses on numbers, over individual firepower. As such, the Battle Armor which populates the main force of the territories defenses provides little protection to the user, but increases their damage output.
As a side note, if any of the history I create for these cards is against previous cards, or the general idea someone is working with, let me know and I can revise as needed! lol.
It's not so much the history, more the concept of the world. I haven't done any alien stuff yet, and don't plan to make any 'ally' aliens (with invaders simply focusing on destroying/enslaving mankind). In terms of Humans, it's just the concept.
So, the way I'm currently crafting, it works like this...
Earth Humans: People who live on Earth and in its orbit. The United World Government (UWG) rules Planet Earth and its sphere, as well as all of mankind. They are in charge of all stellar policy and military actions. The Earth itself is broken down into regions (that follow stereotypes of sci-fi art, such as the Russian battle suit or cyber-ninjas... etc.), and each region is in charge of its own land based defenses. There are, of course, individuals who act outside of the main influence of the government (hackers, smugglers, etc.).
Space Humans: People who live in space. This is broken down into 3 groups. 1) The UWG Fleet, and it's various parts. 2) Operation Frontier (which most or all of the ships and space human stuff I create will be part of) which is in search of a new home for mankind for fear of the Earth getting destroyed. 3) Others, ie. the aforementioned hackers, smugglers, etc.
If that basic concept is acceptable, I can work from there. I just want to be sure it is. I mean... I've created a general defense system for Earth, a colonization fleet, and the way Earth's ground defenses work, but that obviously might not mesh with what other people were thinking. So... though I'm unlikely to budge on my concept for Operation Frontier, I don't want to add random stuff like the Enemy at the Gates battle armor when it doesn't fit the world being created by everyone else involved in this.
A bit of homemade storyline, that should meld nicely enough with the current themes. Thoughts are welcome.
The West European District, severly damaged by early Invader graviton bombardments, relies entirely on the Moëbius-Kravinski Syndicate, a scientific and para-military organisation, for its defense. The MKS, a powerful figure of the UWG, is the main weapons provider in this uncertain future. They are also the main employer of the Abzalan Combine, a ruthless and powerful Outworld (Humans that left Earth) mercenary organisation.
As such, they provide with bleeding-edge technology, combining Human craftiness and retrofitted alien tech to fight off Invading xeno scum.
They also run the CyclOps Program, focused on the awakening of the psychich potential of human beings, but hey, it's a secret.
The Warden units are their most recent Autonomous Combat Drone (ACD) models.
First is General Richardson (previously seen in the flavor text of the O.R.D.S.) of the Earth Humans. He can potentially gets other humans on the battlefield quickly, but at the cost of his controllers life (martial law is bad for morale and all). That said... I'm not sure I like his effect and mana cost, and am open to different suggestions.
Then, some shock troops of the alien invaders. They again speak Klingon, and just chant Kill, Death, over and over again, as that is what they are created to do... Kill things and bring them death.
@ASubtleGhost - Your card makes the theme song of Pacific Rim go on in my head. lol.
The MKS-Raider Model 9 is the standard equipement for the European mechanized infantry, adept at fighting the invading hordes on the ground. The more advanced Model 12 is the Abzalan's favorite skirmisher vehicle.
Everyone the cards are great and the storyline each cardsmith is bringing to the table is helping to develop this thread as it goes so please continue with your cards and lore! If you are reading this and are simply interested in making cards but no story (or vice versa) then please submit your thoughts and/or card(s) I'll check them out, this is a contest I wish I could partake in lol (my wife @Aryanf says I can't compete in my own contest I said I know but I want to make cards for it so that's why I have a bunch of example cards!)
OMG that's awesome @Teacup! And just so you know you influenced me to start my own favorites folder I saw you had one I thought it was a good idea. It may take awhile for me to fill it though but just so you know you influenced it
@saveria201 makes awesome cards I plan on making more cards of cardsmiths on here down the road @saveria201 is one of many I want to create a card for.
In case you missed it before @Corwinnn@Teacup I made a card called Corwinnn's Teacup it was meant for both of you I thought the image was really neat, and @Corwinnn my Bobo, the Flying Squirrel you influenced that card. I thought flying squirrels? Why hasn't anyone done this yet? At least I didn't see any yet on here so far. Hope you check the cards out!
There was a faint beep, announcing a visitor at the steel door.
"Come in" said Aelin.
The door slithered open, and a man entered, in his late forties and wearing a tight-collared officer's uniform. He prompltly saluted, and went on to introduce himself.
"Captain Velion, at your service commander. I understand you have sent for me."
"At ease, captain. I have called you because we are walking on thin ice right now, and I need all the help that I can get." She took a deep breath, then carried on. "Since my father, admiral Aurias, died, Operation Space Frontier has been ... somewhat compromised. He carried a great vision, a vision all the Opertation volunteers followed. I wish to keep his legacy alive."
Velion nodded silently, encouraging her to continue.
"But now the others are not so sure. We should have warped to the Deneb system eight days ago, but they stall our progress, entangling themselves in discussion. Some of them want to split up. Some even want to go back to the Sol system", she added with a weary sigh, sittting on her plasteel desk.
"A troublesome situation, commander", stated the captain. "How can I help you ?"
"I understood that you were very close to my father. He said you were the closest thing he had to a true friend"
He shrugged, uncomfortable. "I believe I had his trust. He definitly had mine, and my loyalty. I would have followed him, to hell and back if he ordered so. Your father ... he was a great man, the rare kind that brings people together against all odds."
"That is why I need you", Alin said, sitting up. "If you follow me, and Aurias' vision, if the other captains see you putting as much faith in me as you put in the admiral, then they will find reason. They need to understand that I can be as truthful and capable as my father" She paused, piercing him with a gaze of determination mixed with a tingle of fear. Velion had always been good at reading people.
After a brief silence, he took a deep breath and replied: "If you can keep your father's dream alive, then I see no reason not to follow you into this odyssey. If he chose to make you into what you are now, and know that he never chose lightly, then they can be no mistake into putting my loyalty with you." He straightened. "The Carthago is with you, commander".
Her relief was plain to see. "Excellent, captain. Everyone must undersatnd that staying back is signing our death warrant."
That raised his eyebrow. "You do not trust the UWG forces to keep the Invasion at bay ? The last time I saw Earth's forces, they outgunned Operation Space Frontier's fleet eighty to one", he pointed out.
"They do, but the Invasion is a facade hiding a far more sinister, and dangerous, truth." At his surprised look, she added" : "I hired the services of an informant. A very talented one. What came out of his investigation is bigger than all of us. And deadly. So very deadly."
"An informant ? Into alien territory ? You asked the Enubis ?" Now Velion was frowning.
Aelin smiled. "No. It happens that we have our own mind-freaks now. Very useful individuals. Very rare, but it seems the Syndicate has found a way to make them more available."
"With all due respect commander, meddling with the Syndicate isn't always very healthy."
"My informant was a solo operative, having escaped the UWG's radar. They have no idea of what's coming for them, sadly. And if even if they did, they wouldn't believe it anyway. Overconfidence is a very insidious killer."
"So Earth is doomed ?" His face was set in stone.
"Until the underlying threat is fully exposed, we cannot know for sure. But my father believed it was real. And that's the reason Operation Space Frontier exists. That's why we must go in exile."
If you think something is not going in the right loresque direction according to you, please make me know ! Especially @RayearthIX , since I used some of your characters.
