  • @Mellow_MC A lot of the time, when an ability triggers on a creature you don't control being tapped they'll include the clause "if it's not attacking" just to scale it down a bit.  With something like drawing a card for each tapping creature, you're probably good to include this clause.  That also keeps go wide strategies from just swinging in with a bunch of creatures and getting a ton of free damage in.
    I also wonder if stun counters, but without any way to tap the stunned creatures, actually hurts the ability, since those creatures are going to either avoid tapping, or just remained tapped if tapped already, making you less likely to get the pay off.
    As a commander, this is a tricky build, since you miss blue, the best color at tapping down opposing creatures, and it seems as likely to kill you as to help you in 60 card formats, since it doesn't come down until late, and then your opponent can likely wait to tap anything until it benefits them, or even kills you.  It seems a challenging card to make work, but, that also could make it a really interesting card to build around.  If you're looking to make a tapping creatures you don't control themed deck in Orzhov, this is a really good top end or possible commander.
  • Here's a card I made that I'm positive can be broken, and have thought of some possible issues, but, I'm not sure how to get an "anti-leyline of the void" effect without it also enabling a bunch of insane nonsense.  Let me know if you have any ideas to reign it in:

    Funnily enough, my first draft of Rime was going to be orzhov as well, but I wanted it to be azorious to allow for blue color identity availability and changed the emblem ability. Anyway, Seela is kinda overpowered, though much better balanced than some of your other cards. It should probably be a mythic. As for non-balance feedback, it is an interesting design that makes your opponents reconsider their attack and can really work as a nice finisher for control.

    (NEW, FINAL VERSION)

  • I'm a big fan Mikaeus, the Packfather because he perfectly shows why green is the best color.
  • wooowww holy heck Chagren that looks like a legit card I would pull from a random deck lol! Only thing I find a little odd is “as though it had flash”, idk why but I feel like it could have been worded differently
  • I am Undertale Fan, but I made it MTG friendly. Thoughts?

    Lore: This Sans is only the skeleton who has no nickname as he is from the orginal timeline. He has nothing but a purpose to judge humans for actions he/she have made. Compare with others his kind, he is weakest entity, yet a lot of stamina and agility makes it up for him. His ability in additional do more damage to these who do wrong doings more than these who do good doings.

    Lore: In alternate timeline, which Sans - for some reasons - gains memories of what human have done in different timelines and he couldn't do anything about it. So, to prevent this history repeat itself, he takes his friends and his kinds to make himself strong while force human to remain weak. His nickname is Murder or Dust as this timeline is called Dusttale.
  • @yomogimaruu that's how it is supposed to be worded.
  • @FireOfGolden those cards look really good!
  • The character in the card art is featured in “HATSUNE MIKU: COLORFUL STAGE!” and hands down is one of my favorite characters. It took me like 15 minutes to try and make a proper card of her haha

    Since we are in the Anime Universe, what do you think of Commander Wolfgang von Stahlfels ?
    The first Version is the "General" Version, a Tactician that oversees the whole Battlefield, while the second Version is the "Commander" Version, who likes to go where the action is.
  • Yippee!! More anime! I find these interesting, I feel like both versions live up to their characteristics
  • Curious question for everyone on here:

    What sort of feedback are we looking for?  Is this a place to share ideas you aren't quite able to get right to get feedback on how to make them work?  Is this a place where you post your final product to fish for compliments and praise?  Is this were you take something you feel really good about so it can get torn apart by critics?  Is this were you pick the brain of the community to find out if there's some interaction you overlooked that actually makes your card broken?  Is this were you take your ideas and just get feedback on how to properly word what you're trying to say?

    I'm almost wondering if we need a couple different threads on this basic design, one for just casually sharing favorite cards and getting likes and an occasional "nice card, bro", one for workshopping ideas that aren't quite coming together for us, and one for those that want their best work nitpicked.  However, if everyone wants essentially the same thing from this thread, I just would like some clarity on what that is, so I can support it.

    That being said, @Chagren I like the concept of Stronghold Priestess.  It's very flavorful and everything seems to make sense except flying.  I don't see any reason why a human cleric avatar would be flying around.  If it were an angel or spirit, flying would make more sense, but it seems a little out of place.  It might even be okay to be like "As long as you control a spirit, Stronghold Princess has flying" if you want to give the sense that her connection with the spirits is allowing her to fly.
    Aside from that once little flavor concern, the rate on making a spirit seems pretty low considering there're essentially 2/2's with flying, but, since it can only be done once a turn, I don't think it's too concerning, and making it cost more seems too steep.  You could consider making them 0/1's (functionally 1/2's).  Overall, the card seems really well designed, balanced, flavorful, and fun.

    Also, I didn't get any feedback on this when I posted it nearly a month ago, so here it is again:

    This is definitely breakable, but I'm curious, A ) how you'd break it and B ) if you can think of a way to make this effect, but less completely broken.  Let me know what ideas you have.
  • @StuffnSuch Thanks for the feedback! As for your card, it's pretty good, although I see it as being rare rather than mythic. I would also change the wording so it reads "If a card would be exiled from anywhere, put that card in its owner's graveyard instead." Overall, it's a pretty solid idea!
  • @StuffnSuch in the grounds of breaking the game with this card, you could do some pretty crazy things with Slimefoot and Squee or other Mardu commanders due to red being very good at exiling things from your own deck and this card being able to send them back to the graveyard to be reanimated. Idk though, just a thought.
  • Fixed it by removing flying.

    I think natural cycle can be pretty op. First of all, extra costs like delve or collect evidence could be literally for free (if you have enough cards in the graveyard). But what I think is even more op are cards with flashback, which you could cast over and over again. Also with cards like {{Backdraft Hellkite}} it could be even more crazy. So all in all I think mythic rare is good.
  • @StuffnSuch
    Right, sorry. People put a lot of cards in here and it seems these covered your card up.
    Natural Cycle - {3}{g}{g}
    Mystic enchantment

    "If a card would be exiled from anywhere, instead put it in its owner's graveyard."
    I'd say this way will certainly helps red, blue, and black deck a lot as they heavily depends on sorceries and instants, this way BREAKS any sorceries, instants, and creatures with the following keywords;
    - Unearth (Allows owner to use it many times as he/she wants to at sorcery speed.)
    - Aftermath (The card becomes part of owner's hand without taking one room up and it's not even counted as his/her hand.)
    - Delve (Doesn't cost the owner at all.)
    - Flashback (This way remains in the graveyard, and allows owner cast more than just one.)

    However, there are some expections that will COUNTERS some creatures and any spells says exile cards.

    Hence, don't use "Anywhere", try to be specific to avoid breaking these creatures and spells that exist in MTG.

    Like this;
    "If a card would be exiled from anywhere, if it wasn't caused by triggered ability, activated ability, or itself, put it into its owner's graveyard."

    I haven't get feedback on these;

  • @Lurisauri
    For 5 mana cost? Seems fairly, but the way it's worded greatly benefits most of red, blue, and black while setbacks green and white. That's right, even green!

    This way will also breaks some cards and made them unplayable. For example, adventure sorcery. Originally, the card can be casted for its part spell then creature is exiled, so caster can cast it later. However, Natural Cycle prevents that. It allows the spell resolves but forces owner to put the creature directly into the graveyard rather than exiling it. Another example is Natural Cycle DISABLES any keywords that need exile itself to work, like Foretell and Suspend.

    Natural Cycle is completely broken cause it allows you to play spells from your graveyard that would be exiled afterwards over and over again.
    Lets say you have an Ashnods Altar and a creature with Delve, you can play it for free, because of delve, then sacrifice it for 2 mana, then play it again for free. Unlimited mana. And then all you need is a spell with lets say flashback that deals damage.

    You could fix this by changing text to:
    "If a card would be exiled from anywhere except from a graveyard, put that card into its owners graveyard."

    And since today is Labors Day, i made ...

  • 🙂🫠
  • @Chagren I think in terms of design the card is really flavorful! I don't really have any advice to give, since I'm still pretty new to designing actually flavorful cards :)
