@jaceberlin Thanks for the feedback. That symbol is not the ixalan symbol, it is the eclipse symbol. I might change it to Dominaria though. I will change the creature type to cleric.
  • @jaceberlin
Actually Wizard subtype's primary color is blue, it's secondary color is red.
  • @SteampunkDragon Hey! I'm pretty sure that card is in one of my contests! Feedback: yeah, the card is awesome. It could counter double threats by countering 1 spell and giving a creature protection from another, great card.
  • @jaceberlin Yeah I put it your counter contest. I meant for it to be a nicer counterspell, one that mainly focuses on burn and removal and protecting yourself rather than disrupting your opponent's whole game plan.
  • @SteampunkDragon
I left feedback on Eidolon of Sanctuary.

Comment on and/or favorite either Bishuun Towers or Aaron, then post up to two cards of your own!

Also, if you wouldn't mind, could you guys go check out my last comment on my other discussion thread? I've posed a question for you over there:
    https://forums.mtgcardsmith.com/discussion/2127/faiths-guide-personal-art#latest
  • @Faiths_Guide
I faved both of them. Bizhuun Towers are cool 'cause your own creatures can dwell there and Aaron is interesting, though it looks like a Vampire. But there's nothing wrong with it being Human.

    Your thoughts are welcome.

  • @Ilmarinen Commented. Your card is quite well designed!

    My card:

If you are confused about what this does, please look at the comment section!

  • Interesting. Very unique and creative.  You get a favorite.

The idea behind it is to have the thing gain momentum by rolling down the mountain. The bigger the mountain, the bigger the momentum.

  • Hey cardsmiths, I made this for another contest for a 4-color guild that focuses on Group Hug (pairs well with Kynaios and Tiro of Meletis as a commander, for example).
    I have a question:

My intent was to add to the politics of a game by giving other players incentive to let each other draw an extra card during their draw step, but is this ... like ...
    B R O K E N because of its tap/untap ability? I guess I didn't think about how it might be abused.  Thoughts?
  • Offertory Plate is - how did you say it? - ah yes, B R O K E N because it offers way it much abusiveness for literary the lowest cost possible. Maybe increase the cost by 2 or something like that. Also, in terms of wording, it should say "At the beginning of each player's upkeep, if CARDNAME is untapped, that player draws a card" and in terms of formating, I think there should be flavor text.

    Apt Kraken

  • @TerryTags Also, your suppose to comment on the above card.
  • @joemamajoe thanks!  I appreciate the heads-up on the protocol for this thread  oops!

@Level20GnollBard I like that card, and I like that you're not "using" mana from your mana pool, you're just tapping an untapped Mountain.  Since you don't get the mana from those Mountains, how about: "Tap an untapped Mountain you control.  Each time you do, Kordran Juggernaut gets +1/0 for each time you've tapped an untapped Mountain this turn."  So the first Mountain you tap, it gets +1/0 that turn, then the second Mountain it gets another +2 (total +3), then the third Mountain it gets another +3 (total +6).   If you tap eight mountains, that's +36 in one turn (1, 3, 6, 10, 15, 21, 28, 36).  The total bonus to power is a "triangular number", not exponential, so yeah it gets huge ... but not logarithmic-ally so.? LOL    (I'm real good at making Broken cards, though, so don't take my advice, LOL  )

  • Well @joemamajoe, Apt Kraken really makes me want to run a mill deck, and it works perfectly with izzet. You know what it also works perfectly with(Coincidence)?
    My card!

    @LordTachanka123
How is she able to write runes on her back? And what is a Tyr?

Flavor aside, I really like the artwork. The batching keyword "rune" should probably just include artifacts and enchantments, since a lot of Magic "rune" cards are either artifacts or enchantments. Vigilance seems useless, and the text needs some adjusting so it would be in proper MTG language. Here's a suggestion:

Whenever you cast a rune spell, you may draw a card. (Instants, sorceries, and enchantments are runes.) OR (Artifacts and enchantments are runes.)

Rune spells (you cast) cost {1} less/more? to cast as long as you control a rune creature.

For balance reasons, this creature should also be legendary, given how much it resembles Jhoira AND even has the ability that affects the cost of runes: https://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=jhoira, weatherlight captain

    Your thoughts are welcome.

    Beehive Protectors

Edit: Changed rarity to uncommon, thanks to the thorough feedback of @TheCenterOfTheUniverse!

@Ilmarinen your card has a wording mistake, and is a little weak for a rare. I would change it to an uncommon if I were you.
  • @Ilmarinen
Artifacts, legendaries, and Sagas are historic, not runes.

I like the idea of runes being instant, sorceries, and non-saga enchantments.

    @joemamajoe
What wording mistakes??? If you think that the keyword counters are wording mistakes (first strike counter & vigilance counter,) then you must not have seen the new Ikoria cards. Keyword counters were introduced in that set, and I wanted to use them in my card:
    https://mtg.gamepedia.com/Keyword_counter

Here's a card that uses keyword counters:
    Call of the Death-Dweller

As for the balance, my card creates two flying tokens at an instant speed and you put first strike & vigilance counters on them as you create them, and their total power/toughness is 3/3. That's a 3/3 flying first strike vigilance for CMC 4, and you may cast it at any time. Compare that to Shepherd of the Lost, which IS AN UNCOMMON:

    Shepherd of the Lost

It costs 1 more mana and you can't cast it anytime you could cast an instant!

Lastly I want to tell you that your criticism isn't very constructive. If you tell someone that their card has wording mistakes, then please have some little effort to point those mistakes out!

    @The-DM
I didn't say that historic cards are runes??? I just said that it would be a flavor-win if ARTIFACTS and ENCHANTMENTS would be counted as RUNES, because a lot of ARTIFACTS and ENCHANTMENTS in Magic: the Gathering ARE RUNES! Counting instants and sorceries as runes doesn't feel right and would seem like a flavor-fail, but that's just my opinion.
  • @The-DM
I mean, if you just simply search for Magic cards with the word "Rune" in their name, you would notice that a VAST MAJORITY of them are ARTIFACTS and ENCHANTMENTS:
    https://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Search/Default.aspx?action=advanced&name=+[Rune]
  • @Ilmarinen I know what keyword counters are. I have numerous cards from Ikoria with keyword counters in the text.
  • My cards:

    Mana FalterRespiring Sentinel
  • @joemamajoe
Then what's wrong with the card's text?
  • Also, @Ilmarinen you did say Artifacts and Enchantments could be Runes.
  • @joemamajoe
    Would you answer my question?
  • @joemamajoe
Look, I'm not very happy about the fact that you just splutter nonsense about my card just so you could post yours here.
  • @Ilmarinen there aren't any wording mistakes - you're completely correct in your wording
  • Like I said, the wording is completely on point - looking at Call of the Death-Dweller like you mentioned & Forbidden Friendship, I see no issues with any of it.
However, I do agree to a point that the card isn't very powerful - even though it is 3/3 worth of stats, it's not a 3/3 flash flying vigilance first striker (which also I think wouldn't even necessarily be rare material for 2WW, but that's closer) - it doesn't give you more than 2 first strike or vigilance power, which is quite different  - this means it doesn't really ambush anything greater than a 2/2, except it can trade with a 3 toughness creature. If you wanted to push it, I think you could make it 1WW to cast, but if not, just 3W would make more sense imo, or making it uncommon.

  • @TheCenterOfTheUniverse, that's some sweet design space. I really enjoy the idea of colorless breaking down the barriers between color and type restrictions. Only suggestion would be maybe to reduce the stats/increase the mana cost because a 5/5 for 5 is a very good rate and might be too efficient for colorless.

  • @TheCenterOfTheUniverse Xel is weird and bizarre and I'm 100% here for it.  NICE.  Super strange way of decimating artifact and enchantment affinities and synergies by redefining what is, and isn't, a creature on the battlefield.  WEIRD.  I love it.

@Temurzoa your Speaker of the Skyrazers is SO aggressive, but I like it, and it's not overpowered, in my opinion.  It works well early-game, as well as late-game (if it lasts that long).

Here's one of mine for the new 4-color "group hug guild" I'm building because of another contest.  Is this Aven Windmonger balanced?  I based it on some of the other "monger" cards from a previous set, and I'm hoping I got the rarity and powerlevel right.

@TerryTags the card is a great uncommon. Other than 2 things, it's perfect:
    • the art looks plain and has no background.
    • how does it belong in theros?
