Help a fledgling author make stories!

Howdy everybody! My name is Zic, for those that do not know me, I am a (you guessed it) fledgling author. I enjoy writing stories about my own magic cards.
However, I have found that not many of my cards really show any... Story potential.
So, as a interesting challenge, I want you to make a card that tells a snippet of a story. Then, post it here. The top five winners will receive a story written by me, about the card. :D
Rules:
Only one card per person. You MAY make revisions, but make it a good card.
You don't have to have a flavor text, but it might help me write the story.
You may use cards you have already created, but these will not be graded as well as new ones.
This challenge ends on June 20.

Have fun! I cant wait to see what kind of material you have for me! :D
Yours humbly,
-Zic

  • Here is an example of a short story I have written surrounding the Vigil Corporation. The story is set in the SteamseaCollaboration set that me and my friends are making.

Here's mine. I tried to make up my own story for each piece of artwork I saw, and I thought the one I had in my head for this one was pretty interesting.
  • Orel'un, Hope of Yarthis - http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/orelun-hope-of-yarthis-1#.VYbykoJdU8o

Orel'un is one of the few that the Serilian tomes identify by name in the recounting of the four wars, and the only one named from the 70th century. Following the destructive assault on Yarthis, the survivors gather together under the leadership of Orel'un, who is described as:
"... a golden woman who, perhaps alone of the Yarthese, had survived the shock of this notable storm. Certainly her parents, who had chosen to wear the colors of Seril, were slain by it. Her descendants in our day have become greatly inferior to their grandmother's excellence. No one may ever match her wit, nor her abilities."
We know from the Serilian tomes that she was of high birth, and likely had Yarthese ancestry, though it is impossible to be sure. It also appears that Orel'un was spiritual: the Serilian tomes say that she won her battles "with help from the Celestial Idols".
Specifically, the tomes recall the titles of three Celestial Idols: The River Master, The Flowing Fire, and The Arisen Light. According to the tomes, Orel'un organised the survivors into an armed force and achieved the first military victory over the Serilian invaders. However, this victory was not decisive: "Sometimes the Serilians and sometimes the citizens [meaning the Yarthese inhabitants] were victorious."
  • Pretty ambiguous. The card only introduces two characters: The Weaver and The Spider, who were in some way romantically involved. It's left up to you whether these characters are actual people, metaphors, or some combination of both. It's also left unclear exactly what the two are; are they deities, people with those names or titles, or literally a textile worker and an arachnid? Anyway, have fun!

It might not be a good card, but what set doesn't have vanilla creatures?

Anyway, the artwork points out that the setting is a desert, as the name very well implies, and that evolution is the key to surviving. But how is unexplained and for the reader to figure out. There are no given characters and that is for you to decide, except maybe the giant lizard. You might be able to start off with a normal-sized lizard and follow up with how it becomes that large.

P.S. : Fittingly, I have no clue either and made it out of sheer need of a vanilla creature with small flavor text.
