@Scott_Anderson - It's also because not everyone signs in every day. For example, I don't look at these boards generally on weekends. So more time means more people can see it and potentially join in.
I liked the theme and American lore that went into this one. It is definitely an all American card. The one downside I had was the art. It works, but the giant white borders, which are not centered either, look out of place on MTG card art.
There were two manifest destiny cards submitted for this contest (both, amazingly, with the same art). The first was a fun concept card, but not truly playable outside of a deck specifically made for it. The second though used the Saga concept well to incorporate the theme of Manifest Destiny and American westward expansion.
In second place is President Reagan, riding a dinosaur, holding an American flag. The art is amazing, using the illuminati pyramid for the set is genius (if done purposefully), and the card is very well done as thematic around his famous speech.
First place goes to an exceedingly simple card, but its simplicity, centered around its concept, is excellent, and propelled it to first place. The flavor text makes this card for me, and when combined with its design and art... it just works.
On a side note, the winning cardsmith also recently made this card - https://mtgcardsmith.com/view/avian-freedom-fighter - which I would have selected as the winner over this if it had been submitted. lol.
Anyway, thank you to all for participating, and congrats to the winners! Let me know what cards you'd like me to favorite. I have already favorited the 4 cards listed here.
