Show Me Your Moxie -- CIRCUIT CHALLENGE
Greetings fellow Cardsmiths!
For this challenge, we are going to put our WOTC play design hats and design one of the most iconic card categories in MTG history. Your task is to:
Design a Mox card that could be printed in a Standard-legal set with an appropriate power level in older formats.
Rules:
1) Entries must be 0 mana artifact cards with a tap ability that adds one mana of some type.
2) No joke cards.
3) Old and new entries allowed. 3 entry maximum.
4) Any entries scoring 0 in any category will not be considered for the top 5.
Here are some designs to get you thinking:
The key to this challenge is power level. Moxes can very easily be absolutely broken (too powerful) or stone unplayable (too weak). Finding a middle ground between these two is what this challenge is all about. For reference, of the mox designs above, Mox Tritium is too powerful and Mox Aether is a little on the weak side.
Cards will be graded according to the following holistic scale (Out of 100):
Templating: 10
Creativity: 10
Flavor: 5
Rarity: 5
Power Level in Standard: 25
Power Level in Older Formats: 25
Play Pattern / Gameplay: 15
Mox Attributes: 5
I will not make the score breakdown for the entries public (only the final score for the winners), but you can private message me after the challenge ends for your overall score and some feedback on your card if you desire.
The top 5 scoring entries will be rewarded as follows:
1st: 5 favorites of your choice and 1 CP
2nd: 4 favorites of your choice and 3/4 CP
3rd: 3 favorites of your choice and 1/2 CP
4th: 2 favorites of your choice and 1/4 CP
5th: 1 favorite of your choice and 1/4 CP
I will also award 1 favorite each for the following three categories:
1) Most Novel
2) Moxiest Mox
3) Best build-around
This contest will close at 4:00PM EST on Friday, July 13th.
If you have any questions, feel free to post them to this thread.
Happy Smithing!!!

A Zendikari Mox. As Moxy as they get.
Haven't ever made any before, but this is my best shot. I reeeeeally wanted to make a phyrexian mox (a really good risky one) but it wouldn't play at all in standard. Maybe next time, heh.
Also, curse limited text space! The first mox originally had 'A lich alone if powerful. One with a mox is on a level of its own. Run, do not fight it. - Thalia, Guardian of Thraben'. Just to explain the Innestrad symbol usage, The other two should be self explanatory.
P.S - I meant for only one of these to be legendary. I'm also sorry for the meh image on the last one. Couldn't find anything else that'd remotely work.
Edit - Come to think, here it is.
