    Notes:

    Some bosses need a tempo boost in order to be a challenge at all, although two lands seem too much for early bosses. One land should suffice.

    Removal decks and healer decks are ESSENTIAL to fight against bosses.

    @Blazin_Biscuit not this weekend, I'm pretty busy. I will set up a time where we can playtest again.

    I think we should add a room card to influence the battle in the bosses favor, while providing a subtle bonus to the adventurers. Think something like a plane from plane chase. This would also let us roll d20 and have crits and fails which is a must have.

    This is an example of a room, they should start in your command zone and all their actions happen from their. And they create one hindrance. Rooms come in chance rooms and quest rooms, this one is a quest room. Quest rooms give the boss a bonus at the start of each turn but give the adventurers a benefit if they meet a certain criteria. Chance rooms require each player to roll a twenty sided dice at the start of their turns, on a 20 a good thing happens and on a 1 a negative thing happens. An example would be a mine that creates a gold token on a 20 and causes a cave in that gives all creatures -1/-1 on a 1.
  • Rooms are my alternative to the boss tempo boost, I think they are more flavorful and present more tactical opportunities. Please tell me your thoughts on them.
  • So, how did the rest of the playtest go?

    @BorosPaladin I love the room idea, but the rooms should probably exile when they leave (I assume the flavour is that you're escaped the goblins when there are none left) so they can't be returned with enchantment shenanigans. Presumably only some bosses would have certain rooms, so the Goblin Cavern would be with a goblin boss?
  • @MemoryHead it was interesting to say the least. Eventhough we wreaked the boss when all working together, as soon as one of us left, we fell very quickly. We also found the great need for healers and removal decks

    Is he balanced? I have absolutely no idea. Also, to point out something, his anthem ability doesn't work on my creatures. Only those of my teammates.
  • @MemoryHead for 4 mana with two colours: i think he's balanced. Since this looks like it's going to be a bit more of a warrior deck. I'm going to try out this new experiment deck. Will post it in a bit
  • Wait, are the current 20 card decks meant to be 19 cards and the commander or 20 and the commander?
  • @MemoryHead my deck is 20 plus my commander, since the commander is never part of the deck once you get into the game.

  • @Blazin_Biscuit I'm pretty sure that you've worded Timely Hand incorrectly and that it's meant to say "target player" instead of you. I assume the deck's going to take a heal and support role and I like the idea so far.

  • I'll play a rogue next play test so someone else is going to have to be the healer.
  • @BorosPaladin I can change my thing up to include more healing. I've already got a couple of pieces and it's meant to be a team-player kind of deck, so it won't do me any harm.
  • @MemoryHead Yeah I know the wording is a bit rubbish, but it’s meant to be that you have to have the commander out to make the ability target another player, cos otherwise 6 life for 2 mana in the format we’re doing is a bit too good

  • @Blazin_Biscuit The only problem is that it doesn't target, so the commander can't reroute it to other players.

    Also, I've made the decks for a few bosses (a zombie horde, a witch and a huntmaster) and all that's left to do is actually make the custom cards for them.
