I think the card is pretty viable; it's colorless and provides board presence provided you're willing to pay the mana, especially when you have an empty / dead hand.
P.S. The power / toughness change only lasts for the duration that the creature is face down; turning it face up will return it to it's original power / toughness, just like when you'd morph a creature under normal circumstances.
This is a simple spell, but I don't feel like land stealing has been explored much by official cards, (maybe it's too strong or something). I like to imagine it being printed in a land matters set where there are lots of lands that can turn into creatures. Also I think the art is pretty cool.
2. ) Beholder of Specimens

The thing is pretty simple, a 5 / 5 with flying and deathtouch. I say it's a gem, because outside of the typeshifting cards in, uh, Lorwyn - Shadowmoor, there is literally only one creature that doesn't have a creature type, aptly named Nameless Race.
I think it should get the attention it deserves because it would be a really good commander in EDH.
I think it should get attention because the flavor really captures the aid of an angel and the malevolence of a demon in a single creature. Yes, it requires sacrifice and puts -1/-1 counters, but it will also protect a creature from most threats. It's up to you whether the cost is worth it.
Interestingly, there are probably some niche scenarios in which you would use the card's sac ability on an opponent's creature-- because then that creature would get a -1/-1 counter.
This version of Chandra was meant to replace Tibalt as a two-mana planeswalker. I aimed to make her playable in red, especially EDH, and I think she fits the "feel" of red. Her ultimate was inspired by older cards like Final Fortune (You get another turn, but lose the game afterwards). Her first ability was obviously inspired by Tibalt's +1, but without the risk of randomly discarding some important card in your hand. Her -1 has synergy with her +1 and makes games more interesting, as you can recycle used burn spells into extra damage. Chandra's just a well-rounded, easy-to-cast card.
Originally I only wanted a card for EDH but I really like this card it has neat abilities and I like her control aspect but nobody else did it was fine maybe the card isn't good I don't know you tell me.
Kiga's lore is in the comment's section of the card, so let me run him down basically. He is a member of the Nigheto (formerly known as the Cannibals), a clan that thrives on exploiting their resources, and Kiga is no different; in fact, this is where he draws his immense power and sheer strength and size from. First off, he has devour 2, allowing him to grow more powerful through creature sacrifice; this is balanced through an extra mana cost, but also gives him trample and haste. Then, he has a dangerous monstrosity 2 cost: sacrificing two creatures. When this happens, he devours every other creature on the battlefield, then gets +1/+1 counters, trample, and overwhelming. Ouch!

One of the earliest cards I ever made, it's probably quite unbalanced but looking back I enjoyed seeing my own old concept
@Biblio That'll work!
An Angle planeswalker
Lyphana, the Irresistable: http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/lyphana-the-irresistable?list=user
A Demon who can steal creatures. Was killed by Ariona =(
Sharfta, Simic Lord: http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/sharfta-simic-lord-1?list=user
Because it's Simic...need I say more? (I love simic lol)
Anyway...
Birds of Infinitum

Card draw that is completely dependent on how many you control, although I think [ for some reason ] that the Morph was supposed to be Megamorph. I dunno.
Eternal Shackles

Weird mix of removal and control; however, how long you control the enchanted creature is dependent on whether or not you can remove the counters.
Fiery Hymn

This is more flavor-based, but I thought it'd be a nice card for an aggressive red deck [ again, not a player, a maker here ] that has a lot of small creatures, or a RW deck, since white tends to get the combat tricks that boost your creatures.

This one was made pretty much specifically for a close friend. He's one of those niche players that really like random cards, particularly ones that flip coins. I wanted a topdown design that he'd like, and that I'd be okay playing as well. I feel like the flavor of a goblin messing around with forces beyond his control is pretty good. I may be a bit biased though.
Wisdom of the Mad

Because I love Battle of Wits. This may actually be one of my favorite cards I've ever designed. It's a pure Johny card, that encourages a build around deck.
