  • Everyone, NEW challenge!

INFRASTRUCTURE. How does your empire support itself in these new lands? How do you feed your populace? What are your settlements like? Answer these or any other infrastructure-related questions with a card, and I will expand your empire however much I like it.
  • @KorandAngels I am sorry, but the whole point of the series is that in this region, any powerful sorcerer can cross the blind eternities, as such, planeswalkers gradually went extinct in Kala-Niza. Planeswalkers only happen if specifically fabricated, and that can only happen if I give such a challenge. Generally, I just don't think planeswalkers are as flavourful as creatures, so I would say your leader would have to be a creature.

  • Dame Almer breathed rapidly as her ship sailed across sea. Ever since the ritual, her lung capacity had diminished. She would probably feel slightly out of breath for the rest of her life. As much as she loathed to admit it, it was probably worth it. Ships were sailing free again. Food was being delevered, fewer people were starving and fewer people drowning. Leviathans were no longer being hunted. But that was trouble with these sacrifices wasn't it? They were always worth it.

Dame Almer stalked towards the back of the boat and looked towards the sea. Still nothing. She couldn't see him, but she knew she was being followed. Every now and then the vastness touched on her mind. She wasn't sure it was the same beast her mom had captured or not, but these creatures of the deep sure have been keeping their eyes on her.

A few days later they had arrived at their destination. The captain of the ship joined her as the isle grew closer and closer. "Do you have any maps of the region?" he asked.

"No. But according to our scouts we shall have no trouble finding their city."

  • @Lujikul

Dame Almer only took two fellow knights with her. Enough to accentuate her importance, not enough to give anyone alarm. From shore it was a simple matter following the lights to civilization. When she first encountered another breathing soul she called, "Hail friend! I am Dame Almer of house Elta. I wish to treat with your leaders."
  • @EmolgAn

You can always make more for lore purposes or for roleplay, but only one is required.
  • @Derain2
The person Dame Almer encountered was a member of the city watch, and he eyes her with some suspicion.

"House Elta? We've heard of you. But I'm not so sure about the two with y-" He cuts himself off as his lantern flickers. "No, they look nothing like the other visitor we had." A single flicker. "Much more composed." Two flickers. "But there's two others, armed." The light of his lantern flickers rapidly. "But-" Insistently. "Ugh."

He looks back towards Dame Almer. "You're in luck, turns out our esteemed leader would like to meet with you as well. I don't like the looks of ye, but it's not like she ever cares what we think." With a grunt, he turns, and begins heading down the path deeper into the city, looking back at the visitors. "If you still wish to meet with her, better not fall too far behind." He resumes walking and leads them to the city, keeping a tight grip on his lantern all the while.

The city was bright, and practically covered in lanterns of the non-magical spirit possessed variety. They're led on quite a few detours, including side paths between erected buildings and alleyways, all just as bright as the main street. "If you want to be sightseeing, you'll need to do it on the return trip." The man leads them to a building only slightly more grandiose than the ones around it. "She'll be inside."

He leaves them at the entrance, making a beeline back to the city perimeter. Dame Almer and the others are led by guards to the main chamber, where Aishel sits, waiting, with several lanterns at her side.

"Dame Almer of house Elta, what a pleasant surprise. I do apologize for the hospitality you've been shown thus far, especially after what must've been a long journey across the sea. Some of our more recent recruits haven't yet realized the lack of a need for paranoia. To what do I owe the pleasure of your visit?"

@HeroKP By the way, can I be notified when the next season starts?

I'm kind of glad I'm not in this season, I don't think I could keep up with this insane level of rp. It's amazing to read from the sidelines.
  • @Lujikul

"I wish I came her with gladder tidings, my Lady. I have traveled here at my aunts request to discuss troubling reports we have received from Pravor. Their lands are being overrun by vampires. Their leadership has collapsed. Their people are being slaughtered. Vampirism is a contagious disease, and unless we cure it, it will overrun the entire plane. We have dedicated as many ships as we are able to transporting the Pravorian people to safty. Every civilian we save now is another vampire we don't have to fight later. We request you assistance in this endeavor, between the two of us we command a mighty fleet."

Dame Almer paused as she tried to engage Aishel's willingness thusfar. "Of course these efforts are merely treating a symptom. As Dusksnare armies advance, his hoard will become unstoppable, unless..." Dame Almer stopped herself from biting her lip. "We track him down and slay him together. Your people possess the magic and skill necessary to track Dusksnare down and destroying him. My people possess the prowess to engage and distract him. Together we can save not only Pravor's people, but all of life on this plane. If you are willing to aid us, we are willing to pledge a pact of friendship immediately, and once Dusksnare is slain, we can..." Dame Almer decided to use a more diplomatic language "Rebuild the lands he subjugated together." Rebuild sounded so much better than conquer.

    The Pact:

  • I never knew how invested this season people would be in this season
I honestly have no idea what is happening because people are writing short stories left right and center
If someone could create a small written summary or Saga card that can explain what’s going on please do so
  • @Hergusbergus I think people are trying to make bigger alliances.
  • @HeroKP I actually don't want to argue, but thew council would have worked much better if I could make them all walkers. They worked different to the others.
  • @HeroKP a simple story from one of the Hive's commoners, experiencing tyranny first hand.

I didn't want this. T'was just a simple guard for the hive, working on keeping the borders clean. But on a fated day my conscious had faded out to complete darkness. Shivering, I realized the fated meeting between the collective had been called forth in the Hives conscious. In an instant a chorus of panicked clicks came from the lower levels; some concerned about the overwhelming population, some half starved, and others upset about the trouble the rebellion was causing.

"SILENCE." A single voice, one of the Hivemother herself, rung through my mind. "I envy your concerns, my children. While you may think that our precious hive is going down, we will persevere through this mess. We will continue with our plan of treating this rebellion with upmost cruelty, and feeding our populus upon their failure." No further words needed to be spoken; we knew our goal and what we needed to do to achieve it.

That should have ended the gathering, but what happened next was downright horrifying; a lone, bleak voice made a low chirp of defiance. It would have gone unnoticed to the regular hivemind, but the Hivemother snapped at the slightest utterance of denial. Without any hesitation she executed the poor bug using the Hive's own connection; a punishment usually reserved for extreme traitors to keep us in line.

The Hivemother just stood there, with no sense of remorse as she gave out the next orders. "Naïve fool.. Any other disbelievers will be executed. I will not accept this sort of defiance coming from my own kind. That is all you need to know, and you will accept it." No more protests were made from the clearly shocked crowd, and eventually I had snapped back to reality near my post.

Chilled and anxious of my surroundings, I looked straight ahead at me, spying a group of clearly passive humans wandering the mountains. I didn't attempt to stop them, preferring to look from an unnoticeable distance. Realising how much I envied them for their peaceful life. How much I envied them for having no true leaders. And how much I envied the Hivequeen..
