  • And meh
  • And me! I'll have a card up by the end of the day.

My primary entry. I didn't have space to put it in, but it is Dame Almer who is speaking. Her destiny of selfless self sacrifice doesn't exactly sit well with her.
    image

This card highlights our methods for expansion. In retrospect, I should have had the cost be exile two homes not sacrifice them. Not much of a mechanical difference, but it makes the flavor clearer that these homes have been built up into more land for my queendom.
    image

Edited: Have just spent last night skimming colonizers two, I've realized there is a chance that handeling the natives is something we will actually directly deal with, so I've deleted one of my cards that felt premature. I wasn't particularly happy with how it turned out anyways. :p

Such mages as these are one with the land as they tame it for defences and ready it for the use of mana. Reaching out to others with offers of ready mana shall spread the peace.
  • @AxNoodle Very nice card, matches the flavor of your faction perfectly!
  • @Red_Tower

Dame Almer will deliver this proposal to Kasselie. She usually acts as our ambassador since she loves travel and is always looking to get away from the oppressive reminders of her duty. While she is very formal and well behaved durring actual negotiations, afterwards she quickly tries to befriend as many of the locals as possible and see your civilizations sites. She'll invite any who seems interested to join her. You get a strong "Live each day as if it might be your last," vibe from her.

Anyrate this is our proposed treaty. If you want to make a counter-proposal in the form of another card that could be fun to.

As Dame Almer arrives at the Citadel of Prav image, the looming gothic walls elevated high above her. The gates bore a greater resemblance to the architecture of a grand cathedral than a city’s defenses. Lines of undead soldier poured in and out of the city constantly, making it difficult to enter the city. Upon drawing nearer, she’s greeted by a small welcoming party consisting of several elite guards image, Lady Aerona, and Kasselie’s most trusted steward, Zemo. image

Aerona informs the Dame that she’ll be escorted during her stay and on her journey home by Zemo, who gives Almer a stiff but respectful bow upon address. They then proceed to the audience chamber where Dame Almer meets Kasselie, presents the Accords, and has some time to ask questions and have some light conversation with the Lady. Kasselie informs her it will likely take a few days to read over, discuss, and make a decision on the treaty, and invites her to have a tour of the city and make herself welcome. Zemo acts as her general guide around the city, answering questions, taking her to locations of interest, and making sure she has anything she needs during her stay.

After about three days, Zemo escorts Dame Almer to some kind of religious chamber, the Accords set upon a pedestal. Kasselie informs her that they have decided to sign the treaty as-is, placing her seal and signature upon it. She then hands Zemo the Scepter of Grith, and he proceeds to place a magical seal upon the Accords. image

Trouble was brewing. That was fine. Trouble brewing always beat trouble that was already brewed. Still, it was becoming clear to Jeremy that no one was going to take this particular pot of trouble off the stove. It was going to be up to him.

    image

There were thieves about. Fae thieves. So far nothing big had been stolen. Silverware, a few children's toys, but today they took a wedding ring. Jeremy took the matter to House Elta, but they were unwilling to alienate a powerful nation "over a few missing trinkets." The Elta's were good people, but they didn't understand how disheartening this matter was to the common man. How could they? They were still nobles after all. If they ever lost something all they ever had to do was buy it back.

Jeremy made a quick stop by the silversmiths, and then he set out in the the Mirewood. He crashed through the underbrush singing loudly to himself along the way. Soon enough he was set upon by his neighbors, the fey. "Hello!" He waved, "I've come to challenge your leader to a game."
  • Don't forget to put commas between tap and mana symbols!
  • @ MonkeyPirate2002

Thanks! I knew something looked off!
  • @Derain2
    "Hello!"

"Ooh!" A gold faerie flit in front of Jeremy's face. "Another visitor!" She grimaced and pinched on of his cheeks. "Kinda pudgy, too."

"So, what do you... people... want in our forest?"

"I've come to challenge your leader to a game."

"Oh, Aelfdane LOVES games! Here, we'll take you right to her." One of the fae flung some dirt in Jeremy's eyes.
"AAGH!" He howled. "Was that really necessary?"
    "No. But it was fun!"

By the time Jeremy could see again, he was standing in a large clearing. Another fae with a funny hat stood in front of him.

"So, I heard you want to challenge me to a game."

She danced around Jeremy as he spun to keep up, always staying just out of reach. By the time he had shook of his dizziness, she was sitting in a throne, holding about half of his possessions.

She smiled. "What kind of game?"

    Side note:
I love the roleplaying in this season!

"I'd like you to take a look at this, and see if you can open it." Jeremy tried to hand over the item he recovered from the silversmith to discover she already had it.

    image

"Of course," Jeremy continued, As Aelfdane examined the box, "that's not the real game. Just the start."

    "The start?"

"That is just one of many puzzles we have devised. The way I see it, we can have a lot of fun together."

With a satisfying click Aelfdane slid the box open, revealing a silver coin labeled #1.

"That is just one of dozens of coins we are hiding for you in our village. Traps, riddles, locks, it should prove quite the challenge."

Jeremy took a pause to let the tantalization sink in.

"Of course if we were going to arrange this little game we would have to agree on some rules."
  • "I do love a good puzzle"
    Aelfdane flew up to Jeremy.
    "Game on"

Half an hour later, Jeremy woke up in his bed, with no memory of how he got there.

    PS
You have been implanted with a psychic spy! I know where you are hiding things!

    @Kandra127

Well, whether he remembers it or not, here's how the rest of his proposal went.

"Participating houses will be marked with a red ribbon. Inside these marked houses you'll either find one of the hidden coins or a clue as to where they have hidden it. Now since these people are inviting you into their homes in good fun, I must insist that you and the fae steal only the coins, or else they might be less inclined to participate next month."

A moment passed as both Jeremy and Aelfdane acknowledged the fact this would also encourage more villagers to participate in the game, even if neither of them said it.

"At the end of each month we will have a big party. I'm thinking of calling it the "Festival of Thieves and Mischief." At the end of the party everyone will hand over either the coins they have stolen or managed to keep hidden to me for counting. If the faeries manage to steal most of the coins, the fae all get a free drink at my pub. If the Big folk manage to keep most of the coins save, they all get a free drink at my pub. After a night of eating drinking and celebrating we rehide all the coins and start all over again!"

"If you want, I have a little extra space in my tavern. You are welcome to send a fairy to help arbitrate the rules of the game with me, that way we'll have one referee from each side."

    "Are you game?"

    image

    PS
If you like, you can't make a new card to represent a faerie your sending into the city as arbiter.

Shinlei and one of her advisers stand atop a mountain, surveying the valley below them. The encampment set up behind them is bustling with noise and work.

"The valley below is filled with resources and locations where we can set up temples." Sinlei's advisor announces. She turns her head towards him and nods.

"Send some scouts and some that art familiar with nature" She declares "Any word from the explorers farther out?"

"Some have returned with knowledge of the farther reaches of the island" He said "Others haven't reported back"

Shinlei sighed "Sending them that far was probably not the smartest choice" She turned around and started towards the main hall. "Send word to our allies about possible dangers in the forest" She said "And gather the council, we need to find our people." She hoped they wouldn't be dragging bodies back.

On that day, Cyni decided that her church needed to be prepared. No doubt that her neighbors would not delay to find some conflicts with her. Therefore, she decided to explore new land by the way of coasts not far from territories of the Blessed Army, and to organize advances by land. Her army advanced according to the orders of Cyni, not without the agreement of the tacticians of her order.

This card represents the exploration of new coasts .

If I mad some mistakes ( or big mistakes ), please notice me. I'm french and I want to improve my English writing's skills.

And yeah , explore for blue/white deck are not good , but ... Well, why not ?
  • That card feels more like Esper than Azorius, due to being able to pay life for a bonus effect

@AxNoodle A custom ability. Refer to this:

    https://mtgcardsmith.com/view/outsider-sages

    Lorewise:

The process of those chosen as "worthy" by Space Deities accepting their world, fading into dust, and reforming with powers inherited from aspects of the world around them.
  • I should probably also give some context to my card:

Since the entire population of Hivehome is always expanding at a rapid rate (To avoid mass extinction, should it ever happen) they constantly need to seek new land to accommodate their empire. However, they also often fight other tribes for land even when they could easily claim another piece somewhere else. The reasoning behind this is that they always win in that regard; if they lose and end up losing more people, then they likely weakened the other empire for future raids and now have their need for food slowed down aswell as plenty of fresh bodies to eat. If they win, then they have more land and less opposition for the future.
  • @HeroKP I think that's everyone
  • @Potato13 So are the different parts of the hive similar in biology like single celled organisms? Like there are a lot of them, but since mutations and differences are rare but that means newly introduced defenses to diseases are rare too, so a single disease could wipe out huge numbers of hive
  • @pjbear2005 now that you've said that, that's the new reasoning.
  • @pjbear2005

That is everyone, but not all have PM'd me yet.

PM ME UNTIL WEDNESDAY, OR I WILL EXPAND YOU AS I PLEASE
  • @HeroKP you did get my PM, rite?
    Making sure.
  • The council have failed.
We are drowning in the aether.
    However, I know something.
there is an overworld on this plane.
It is in the sky of Krystel.
We leave to your skies in peace.
    thank you.

Alas, poor council. They were unable to make it to Krystel. Perhaps it would have gone differently if they had superior mechanical bodies over pathetic fleshy ones...

Though fret not, as we will make sure to provide salvation to all, including those unfortunate enough to fail the initial journey.
  • NEWS:

I am considering whether to switch our maps to Aazgar's Fanasy Map Generator. On one hand, it might draw away from the homebrew aestehtic. But on the other hand, it's slick as hell. Check this for an example: https://azgaar.github.io/Fantasy-Map-Generator/

    What are your thoughts?
  • @HeroKP That is what I was hoping you would do
