I'm contemplating delaying the next two challenges until next month, so I can deliver the prizes quicker and be able to ship playmats to some other countries possibly. Would you mind this?
The reasoning behind this is that I'll have additional funds as I'm low on funds due to over spending IRL and could even offer bonus prizes for secret challenges. Shh, don't tell anyone! XD
I'd be disappointed if I had to delay sending prizes after the upcoming challenges are finished.
@murkletins Obviously the choice is yours. You are the one funding it, and it's a big challenge, so I think everyone would understand if it needed to be delayed. Don't stretch yourself too thin! And I'm sure international contestants would enjoy the chance at a playmat as well if that option was open to them.
@Red_Tower Thank you very much, I've decided that I will delay the last two rounds until next month. I will update the description for the due dates to mention this.
Rounds 2 & 3 Delay Announcement: Due to my over spending IRL, I'm delaying the last two rounds until next month when I have further funds. Hopefully in addition to this, I will be able to ship to some places outside of the USA with those extra funds!
Ack, I got so caught up once I finally had a halfway workable idea on all the mechanics that I forgot to credit the artists; Lurking is official WOTC art I believe, artist is daarken (https://www.deviantart.com/daarken/art/Curse-of-Strahd-591030869); I believe First's art is an iconic Strahd piece but for the life of me I couldn't find an attribution; same story for Frenzy, and for all I know that's already a Stromkirk something or other
E: Fixed the rules text on Frenzy and Lurking to be more accurate, but not change the intended effect; Frenzy is pretty crammed, but at least it fits, kinda
I really wanted to highlight the philosophy that vices are just extreme excesses, so I played my hand at aura curses that have a detrimental and beneficial effect for the enchanted player (I tried to make it so that the beneficial effect was less than the detrimental effect because these are supposed to be the Sins themselves). Finally, I think each of them have decks where you can cast them on yourself to your own benefit (graveyard shenanigans for gluttony, burn for pride, and pillowfort for sloth), because I was trying my best to show that vices are not absolute, and that people can overcome vices. Play the card against yourself to your own advantage is like overcoming the vice! Cheers and happy smithing to everyone!
Challenge Round 1/A Results: Hello fellow cardsmiths, I want to say thank you for participating in the first round of Murk's mega contest. I hope you liked it and will participate in the next one.

But you can still enter until then if you missed it.
Just need to send payment to mtgcardsmith shortly, so I don't neglect my duties. Will message when it's done.
Edit: Payment sent.

1st) @Dechujoh64's Lan-Duo, Soul of Sloth
2nd and 3rd) @Red_Tower's Unrequited Attention
and @TenebrisNemo's Proud Clone
@murkletins, if you could favorite these cards that'd be great:

It was very close, any of them could've been first place. So I had to do some tough calls.
There were also many other cards that almost made the top three entries.
I think I'm gonna start the next round real soon, so we can get it ongoing. Today or tomorrow to say the least.
