Cycle Challenge - Auras
With the first Cycle Challenge having just ended, it's time for the next Cycle Challenge
The Cycle Challenge - Auras!
Like a lot of you, I really love a good cycle of cards. Let's try this out and see how it goes. If people seem to like this, we will continue to have a new challenge each week for the next few weeks or so.
This weeks Cycle Challenge: Auras
Here are the rules...
1. Must be an Enchantment and must be an Aura.
2. CMC and rarity should be consistent.
3. Must have 5 Auras, one of each color, to complete the cycle.
4. Try to fit each one into it's color with both FLAVOR and ABILITY.
Judging will be based on flavor, votes, and comments, as well as playability and balance
The reward for this challenge shall be a TROPHY and a custom card of choice! The top three cards will be announced.
This challenge will end on July 17th

@SirWarriorLegend - 42/50 - Very nice Planeswalker inspired cycle! I never saw this coming! I think it plays well to the strengths of each color. There were a couple of wording issues (on Anger of Chandra, the card text says Powers of Chandra, the second ability of the Lilliana card could use a clean up) and the blue and green ones only got two effects, while the others got three. Those are all minor issues though, as the set itself is very inspired!
@Lorbio - 40/50 - Nice set! I felt the art was a little disjointed, but that was just a minor thing. I think you could have costed them all down 1 and had a CMC of 3 as well. You did the same thing SirWarriorLegend did, giving some two abilities and some three, and I would have liked to have seen that a little more even, but all in all a very nice cycle!
@Devillocks - 30/50 - I want to start off by saying welcome to MTG Cardsmith and Thanks for having the courage to join in on such an ambitious challenge! You had some design flaws with this set, so we'll focus on how to make some improvements. You are new to the site, and I want to see you make more cards! First off, and I make this mistake ALL the time, since we're dealing with Auras the card needs to start off with what gets enchanted, such as "Enchant Creature". Three of the cards felt more like Enchantments than Auras, and the two that felt like Auras (Wave of Confusion and Peaceful Winds) have great potential to be really nice cards. I left comments on those two cards. Thank you for the entries!
@cadstar369 - 40/50 - At first glance I thought this was a bit wordy, but it's actually a neat concept. The blue one is busted, it just burns your library out the first turn it activates. I also agree with you that it doesn't need to say "curse", since you'll play it on yourself more often than not, and it eventually becomes more of a boon, than a bust! If you fix that blue one, it's a definite keeper for any set you're building!

@benw - Very solid, but then again, you always deliver solid cards! I wasn't very familiar with curses before this, but after seeing this cycle, I've become a fan!
