A summary of Iscilla's chromatic powers in one card

The sun was set as the ship was soaring at the sky above.

'Just what in the name of Gods is going on.' Thoughtfully, Kiara pondered about the state she was currently being in.

First, she woke up with those motley folks, then got attacked by the orcs, boarded their ship back, and suddenly the ship was transformed into another ship, that was also could fly because it had a sort of engine that could be fueled by mana.

The female duelist exasperatedly rubbed her eyes and her forehead. The blanks in her memories weren't also helping.

"Ah, don't worry captain, we're all also stuck in the same boat here. Wait, was that a pun?" Remarked the tiefling navigator while was also steering the flying ship.

Kiara just blinked several times instead.

"Anyway, so, I'm the captain now huh?"

"Well, you're the first mate, at least according to the book. So, when the captain is not available, or not even exist..."

"Yes, yes, I get it." And Kiara just folded her arms and frowned.

    A pause.

"Hey, uh, Denyl... you know how to steer this ship right?" Questioned her while her eyes were still fixed at the cloudy but starry night sky.

"Aye, captain. To be frank, I'm glad I could still remember how to navigate and read the stars anyway. But it's still unfortunate that I couldn't remember anything about our... companionship before." Then the tiefling took a swig of water from a leather bottle.

"Hm... it's indeed... unfortunate. Nevermind, I'll ask the druid... Theven, whether he could prepare something for dinner. Maybe he could grow us some fruits and vegetables with his powers." The female pseudo-captain just smiled faintly.

"That's nice, captain. But I prefer meat though, although fish is also not bad. Meh, a beggar can't be a chooser anyway."

"Heh, probably later if we arrive at the port, Denyl." And Kiara gently patted his shoulder and left.

The tiefling raised his eyebrow and shrugged while was still continuing his duty to steer the ship that was miraculously still flying despite of its long disuse of its aetheric engine.
  • @KorandAngels, yes, but feel free to join in. I have it set up as a sandbox adventure, players can come and go as they are able to. Just follow the initial creation entry. 3cmc legendary creature.
  • @sanjaya666, I may have mis-typed earlier, but Grimson, the Fierce was the Captain of Heavenly Sabre, y'all let your captain die. He was in the storage hold of your own ship when you found him. But, you had all lost your memories, even Grimson...so, it makes sense.

The current captain of Heavenly Sabre was lost in thoughts as she was stargazing at the sky above.

"We are lucky that there were still a lot of food left in the kitchen. So I have prepared the evening meal that is made out of a cooked fish and vegetables. But I am not so sure that Iscilla would like the common food though." This time the usually silent druid who initiated the conversation, with his ornamental wooden staff still slung on his back.

"Thanks, Theven." Kiara turned her attention towards him.

    And the druid just nodded.

"Pray tell, I sense that you have something that is burdened your mind. Is that correct?" Inquired the druid as the said person also joined the duelist by the stargazing.

"It's nothing of a big deal anyway." She answered. Still it was a lie, obviously as she also rubbed her forehead by that statement.

'Despite of the glaring holes in my memories, I could remember some things though, despite there are no names that I could remember still...

    Flashback:

    The glaring midday sun.

The sounds of clashing swords between two female human warriors.

The defeat of the person in white uniform.

    The accusation of a treason.

    And the banishment of herself.

    End of flashback.

"You seemed to be out from the reality for a while, do you really not needed an assistance, captain?" Remarked the druid with a hint of concern in his voice.

But the duelist raised her right hand.

"It's... alright. I'll go call the others." And with that, she just walked away from the main deck, leaving the druid alone with a raised eyebrow and his arms folded.

As you all gather a little bit of remembrance about yourselves, you are all left with a few options about what to do next. You could discover the mystery of the lock box key, and why your captain was guarding it til his last breathe. Go in the direction of where the Onslaught Dreadnought came from and find out why they were attacking you. Stay on board Heavenly Sabre and just sail the seas as memory-less free men... the choices are your's, you can pretty much make your own journey at this point, just

Voices. So many voices. Iscilla isn't sure if she can bear it anymore. Voices of her ragged past, taunting her, mocking her.

And that man from the journal. He keeps coming up again and again in her visions. She doesn't tell about them to her group, because she still doesn't fully trust them. What if they were to kick her while she's down.

Then, one especially stormy night, she was searching for a path for the boat, looking through her magic storm eye, when suddenly, a sharp screech resonated in her head.
This caused her immense pain, and she fell down on the floor.

When she regained consciousness, she could immediately tell that something was different. ANd sure enough, after an inspection of her desk, she found something in a drawer that wasn't there before. A key.

"Three damned days. And there's still no land in sight." Muttered the pseudo-captain of the ship, a steaming cup of hot coffee could also be noticed in her right hand.

"Well, you chose to investigate the pirates' origin, captain." Answered the navigator while he was still being at the steering wheel.

"Our supplies are getting thinner too, especially the fresh water since Theven said that the process is taking too much time to distill the ocean water by using his nature-based magic and plants alone." Kiara then sipped her coffee.

"But hey, it's good that we took along a lot of dirt from that island anyway. Added by using our literal feces as fertilizer..." Rambled the tiefling.

"Ugh, can we just change the topic please..." The female captain winced.

The half-demonic person just shrugged, And Kiara shook her head in response.

"Anyway, tis' sure a stormy night, isn't it."

Beneath the flying ship, thunders were still occasionally roaring in the night air.

"Yes of course, captain. Good that I also still remember about how to repair the aether engine, or else we could be stuck in this lord-forsaken storm." Still, the tiefling was wary about the condition of the ship that could be described as an old one.

But then a certain druid interrupted them.

"Hey captain." Called the nature mage from the lower level of the deck.

"Yes?" The current captain of the ship turned her head towards the voice.

"I think you should look at this. I believe Iscilla just found something important."

And Kiara just frowned and jumped down, while the tiefling also turned his head and raised his eyebrow.

"Let's have a look at it then."
  • Supporting card: https://mtgcardsmith.com/view/lemons-steed.
Story: Since Bolas was imprisoned, Ahmonket has passed into the religious position that it naturally should have been. Instead of new gods forming or arriving from another plane, the people worship elemental powers: The sun, the desert and the river.
Lemon is the Sun's Guide, a Vizier responsible for leading the sun across the sky, but on occasion, he transforms, becoming stronger and more powerful and can travel to different worlds. In one such time, he was trapped on [whatever plane this is set on]...
  • (Bump)

In between steering around clouds and the occasional storm, Denyl had figured out a way to prop the journal he found in his quarters on the supports for the helm so he can read during boring sections of sky. There was a lot to read, the first entries and pages were filled with recounts of working at the docks and working for the previous captain of the ship, eventually leading to him getting on as it was leaving because he was "discovered". The next few pages were about him learning how to use a map and compass and reading the waves and stars to determine where the boat was.

He also had a natural affinity for the engine. It compressed raw aether and activated it with magical flame to turn it into energy which powered all the mechanisms that let it fly. Whenever it stopped working, Denyl just had to light a small fire in a compartment and make sure that the internal coolant systems kicked in before going back up to the deck to steer the ship away from whatever cloud was heading their way.

It was peaceful for the most part, aside from the "fertilizer" and whatever the illithid found that was so important, he could just read his journal until some crows came, meaning that a decently-sized storm was on the way.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hopefully this gets this going again, and I do want to have something like a google doc that has all the journal entries that Denyl has read, but that'll only happen if this gets going again and if I find the time for it.

Sorry for the delay guys, dealing with a typhoon and crap weather the past couple of days...I have been working on more creations for this storyline, coming soon.

  • @spookoops (So, are you gonna add more enemy encounters by yourself or can we just write about it? For example an aboleth or a kraken suddenly attacked the ship, or another pirates encounter again, or how?)
  • Encounter coming soon... be prepared

    here we go...@Bowler218, @Sanjaya666, @HeroKP, @TigerFang8, @KorandAngels...

as you guys are sailing across the sky to your supposed destination, you see image gently floating in the cloads, as if he is unconscious. You all quickly rally to pull him aboard (@KorandAngels, give a quick story as to why this has happened). You spend the rest of the day treating Lemon to his wounds and getting to know each other.

At sunrise the next morning, you can see the silhouette of an island off in the distance, about a half days sailing. As you come gently landing back onto the sea, you can feel some weight kinda lift off your shoulders as you know land and rest is near.

As you are quietly sailing the seas to your port destination, a squall starts to form and out of the sea emerges image.

Your challenge is to work together and create a series of cards that compliment each other to defeat Lokhir. You each have your 3cmc max, please no insta-kill/exile, kinda cheap.

As the kraken lord rose out of the waters, Denyl turned the ship away from it, yelled at Kiara to get to the helm and steer the ship, and ran all they way down to where the engine was. He added more and more heat to the aether to make the ship go faster than it should've. "This, this is why I was taught to use the engine," thought Denyl as he felt the ship start moving faster.

Lemon was floating because he hadn't realised that he's floating*.
*If you know how flying works in Hitchhicker's guide to the Galaxy Then you'll get what I mean.
    Remember, Lemon doesn't have wings.
  • Lemon is still staggered, but is capable of casting one of her spells:

(Can some of you continue the flavour text story?)
  • Assuming the Kraken took the damage stuff from Bowler's entry, he is already dead.
  • @KorandAngels (Still, but it's not.)
  • @spookoops is there a set crew for this story or is it possible to tag along ?

    'What in the gods...'

    The current captain thought bitterly.

'And I thought we already sent the accursed thing back to the Far Realm.'

Kiara watched the creature regenerated back from the wound that was inflicted by their newest member's light spell, namely the wingless aarakocra cleric.

And suddenly the ship stopped in the mid air, leaving all the crews and the captain to be lurched forward due to the loss of its momentum as it stuck in the mid air.

'What the...' Holding back her fear, Kiara gritted her teeth and frowned.

'Of course it had to know about telekinesis.'

As the ship was slowly pulled towards the front of its face, the kraken god's voice boomed.

"Nice try, insects. But now this is the end of all your pathetic life."

But suddenly a swarm of various flying insects appeared from nowhere and started to engulf the head of the kraken god.

"Hurry up, it won't be distracted for a long time!" This time Theven the druid shouted from the deck as his eyes aglow with nature magic, along with both his hands stretched in a spellcasting gesture.

And in that moment, Kiara saw the cleric was hovering above the ship with his fists clenched.

"Lemon! Get ready to throw me!" Shouted Kiara, her eyes ablaze with a holy spell.

    "But captain?"

"Just overcharge my blade with your holy spell. I just want to give it a good smacking."

And in his acknowledgement, the hovering cleric just nodded.

What happened afterwards was the most stupid maneuver a person could do in that situation, as Kiara was being lifted in the mid air by the cleric, with a glowing enchanted sword in hand.

Then she jumped on top of the distracted giant kraken's head and furiously planted her glowing sword in its giant skull.

And the Kraken roared from pain as it emitted a telekinetic blast that knocked the cleric and the duelist to the mid air and caused the ship to be whirled uncontrollably.

"Captain!" Shouted the floating and half dazed cleric as he quickly soared down to catch the falling and unconscious duelist.

Then the giant kraken's head exploded in a blazing golden light.
