Alrighty, one more day! I will try to read over final submissions within the next few hours and let y'all know if you're ready for the d e s o l a t e .

Also as a reminder, the set for my cards is here. It may contain spoilers, so don't look if you want more surprises as things move on.
  • Ack! I’m still writing ideas. I’ll make the cards ASAP though!
  • I’m up for aligning with anyone. Gonna compile my list soon.
  • Ready to find art and make cards! Find us, and find peace. Fight us, and we’ll make you regret the day you were created! And... send you back to that day too.
  • Far on the edge of Lakas, a small hut lies amid the scorching heat on a barren landscape. However, the hut holds more than a simple room, for it contains the Infinite Aethenaeum, a library for all knowledge in the multiverse. Its reach spans across multiple planes, providing limitless knowledge to those who find it. Only one person maintains the ever expanding library though. Once a curious wizard thirsty for knowledge herself, Assaya discovered the abandoned marvel and has took it upon herself to provide that knowledge to others. Just make sure to have your library card ready.

  • Two bant kingdoms that have dual main races that warred with each other... I'll take it as a compliment, @Tommia . Time manipulation? Sounds fun. Enjoy yourself.
  • @DrakeGladis Mine never warred each other... quite the opposite. In short, vampires split between blood lords and hippies that just want coexistence. Hippies can’t defend themselves, so they make a truce with the cat people, and everyone lived happily never after.
  • Y'all are engaging in such deep roleplay, making connections, and I'm just sitting in the centre, like BUG.

Yes! The Maviol made it in time!

    The Leaders

    imageimage

Our “Standard Citizens” Come In Vanilla, Pistachio, and Blueberry.

    imageimageimage

Our “Home” is not a place. It’s wherever we are. (Don’t drink the water.)

    image

We’re being attacked? Relax! Don’t go straight to signing the declaration of war!

    Step one: Attempt to Parley

    image

Step two: If parleying fails, launch a counteroffensive
    image

Step three: Above all else, protect our ideals of peace
    image

Instant: We assure to use the least violence possible, but complete abstinence from violence has never been an option

  • ok. That is pretty cool. Props. Although, the Maviol Barrier could be cleared with a board wipe. Can you come up with a card to represent the suggested genesis and time manipulation you mentioned?
  • @DrakeGladis the thousand year thing is just time passing by. As for the genesis, there will DEFINITELY be a card on that, but my tablet is dead at the moment
  • Ok @Tommia , that is good to know. Thought you were doing time control, my bad. Just for kicks, you would still possibly be an America in my WWII analysis
  • United Nations? I’m happy with that.

Deep under Lakas' surface, below the chittering R'jkqu caverns, lies the Aljaxi System. It has been silently operating since untold ages, its purpose... unclear. And in these troubled times, it has awakened. Its overseers, the Triarchs, emerge from their slumber, only to find a crippled System and a world slowly tilting towards extinction. With little to no memory of their original mission and their only ressources millenia old, they strike out in search of answers. One of the few uncollapsed tunnels leading to the surface emerges in the External Wastlands, where the two remaining Triarchs discover Lakas.

It is not the world the System knew. Artificial beings of sentient magic and cold metal whose creators were lost to the ages, the Aljaxi will not let Lakas fall to chaos; whithout a definite mission, they decide to forge their own destiny in Lakas' Desolation.

The Triarchs, who assume leadership (The faction will also include black)

An important Artifact, the Core. It powers the Aljaxi, but most of its energy is derived somewhere else; however, the Triarchs cannot remember where.

Bought the 2020 core set bundle n' I got Chandra, Awakened Inferno. Yeeted her right into a sleeve because her value is prolly gonna keep going up (it's like $20ish now, which is half the bundle's price).

EDIT: Also Golos, Tireless Pilgrim. Almost got the value of the bundle itself in just these two. Wild.

@SammySammyson I’m going to be making a minor tweak to my barrier and adding an instant to my final cards. Be back in a moment...

Couldn’t finish yesterday because my tablet was DED
  • @SammySammyson My list is final!

Also, I’m interested in Untap. In, but idk if everyone else can work around my schedule. With my current work schedule I could only play on evenings Monday through Thursday (7PM-11:30PM ET) or Saturdays and Sundays (2PM-12PM ET)
  • We have just finished mining out the last of the metal and are now starting to move towards the edge of the desert. Along the way, we will have our metalsmiths unpack and make some more ammo, then pack back up and keep moving.
  • I think I will pass on Untap.in
  • @SammySmannyson
When are we going to start? I'm going back to work at 6pm Central Time
  • @ASubtleGhost Wouldn't 'Triarch' mean that there are 3?
  • @KorandAngels Correct. However, when the two here awakened, the third one (Ekos, as stated in Davanos' flavor text) wasn't. Due to their prolonged stasis, the System suffered considerable damage over time, and he was one of the casualties. His color was black, so their will be some black and hybrid black in the mix.
  • @SammySammyson Sooo, are you waiting on anyone?

    I can use Untap.in

ACTIVE CHALLENGE (All of you can join!)

The leader of each faction has awoken in a cold sweat, violent shake, or whatever applies to their species. Horrifying wurms that are known to terrorize the Desolate have invaded their sleep, and in that sleep, have invaded the very place your leaders reside. Each of you peers out of your tent, castle, or burrow to see that the night is filled with silence. Those of you on the beginning of the Desolate find yourselves the most disturbed. You've seen those...monsters before, but never have you considered they'd find you here.

ACTIVE CHALLENGE: Create a card in response to this dream. Whether this be shrugging it off, spiking defense measures, or increasing the numbers in the night watch, keep in mind that the card should be playable. Please keep entries neat and organised, and follow the colour pie. Cards should look fairly realistic.

POINTS: Earn a maximum of 20 (get yourself a big head start!). This is based on creativity, along with the above statement. As always, you can give explanation to complement the card and your reasoning for its design.

Remember: You can request an individual challenge for yourself weekly!
  • And with that, I shall Rest, as it is almost midnight here. I hope that my work schedule won't be of much more conflict with this!

Threw in a little nod about me vs @heroKP's buggers

@SammySammyson, give me a personal challenge!
  • Reyeva called a midnight council of her closest advisors to discuss the dream. She has had prophetic visions previously, so she decided preparing for a wurm attack was the best plan of action.

  • @Bowler218 You haven't "dealt" with the bugs. That's what we let you think you've done.
