"...credit where it's due. I didn't expect the plague doctor to come in here and light the place on fire."
Wosy has poured drinks for the group. Otaimo, Wosy, and Onaeca have his house special, while everyone else has something lighter, so they can think.
"Neither did I. I thought he was all plagues and medicine until he showed that Lord Arbiter a thing or three." A black winged angel, Lo, responds. She isn't drinking.
"Hold on. He fought Rafael?" Pathos froze. Rafael wasn't one to ever do wrong to anyone.
"No, Pathos. There's a new Lord Arbiter, Altreya. Rafael rebelled." Lo corrects him.
"Do what?!" Pathos has been away from the Beyond for quite some time. Wosy spits out his drink. Neither of them had realized that Rafael had rebelled.
"So the king of angels threw his crown at Conse's face?!" Wosy chuckles. "Perhaps those thick-heads are finally learning... no offense to you, Pathos."
"Anyways, I came here on business." Byro removes from his pocket a shining, vibrant stone. As he places it on the table, it glows brightly, and Wosy winces, covering his face with his hand.
"Y'do realize I'm a demon, right? Put that thing away!"
"Where did you get that?!" Pathos and Lo say, practically in unison.
"I got it from... my friend." Byro says upsettingly.
Pathos knows exactly what he's looking at, but there's no way Byro should of ever obtained it. In his hands, he holds a relic from the Beyond, reserved only for extreme emergencies. A shard of starlight...
For the entire trip, Nsatar is giving the hag a hesitant, untrusting look. He keeps his sword drawn, ephemeral dew running down it and protecting the group from the harsh desert sand.
"Ah... yesssss. I just had a thought. Perhaps, we may need a better way to transport all of you..."
The hag utters a few words, and then, suddenly, a swarm of drakes emerge, seemingly from nowhere.
"Halt! It's an ambush!" Nsatar stops dead in his tracks, nearly causing Vryx and Arlin to fall off his back.
"Calm down, sweetie. These are your rides..."
"Rides, oh wrinkled one? How in the Five Realms of Varnia do you expect a centaur to ride a drake?!" Arlin chuckles a little, trying to hold it back.
"Very carefully..." The hag chuckles as well. "I hope you didn't accctually think I was going to make you ride one of those." She looks at Vryx and Arlin. "Get down, you two. You might not want to be on his back when this happensssss..."
Vryx and Arlin oblige as the hag prepares a spell. Suddenly, Nsatar is floating in the air.
"Ho there! Wicked one! Cease this tomfoolery at ooooonce!!!" Nsatar is panicking as he tries to rectify himself in the air. The combination of flailing hands and hooves failing to catch ground. "Only a wretch uses witchcraft! Put me down! PUT ME DOWN!"
"Relax! If you would stop flailing around you might be able to accomplish something!"
Finally, the hag rectifies Nsatar, and he finds himself upright, able to trot on the air.
"Are you sure this is a good idea?! I would much rather face death head-on with my bare hands than fall to it!"
"What's wrong? Is the brave and valiant knight afraid of heights?! Don't worry... as long as you keep close you won't fall."
The drakes land in ranks, and one after another, Alyssa's entire crew flies into the air with incredible speed. Vryx and Arlin join them, the hag follows suit, and Nsatar follows them in the air...
@Tommia@EnvyReaper "Do I really have too? If I have to I will but if not I won't, So here" he finished and handed them the poisons and weapons. But he still had the sword under his pant leg.....
Schoren and Danny hand over any weapons they have, and Rusty surrenders his axe. Schoren ensures his shortsword is still hiding in his pants leg, while Danny hides a sharp rock in his pocket. Schoren, Rusty, and Jessica all three keep the tiny bottles, containing the Glamour Purging Solutions for Scarf, Lilith, and Draundr, hidden.
"Thank you for cooperating." Two of the guards hold the group's weapons. "Daeo, escort them to the stables so we can make preparations."
Scarf, Lilith, and Draundr are taken further into the stables so they can be properly saddled, while Schoren, Rusty, and Danny are escorted elsewhere. Jessica is heading back to "her" barracks...
While the group is separated, interactions will be carried through PMs
The strange man hears your question before you even ask it.
"In essence, I'm sure this... demon, wouldn't be able to help you with what it is you ask, unless... he makes a deal with me." The man suddenly floats into the air, laying legs crossed. "See. I'm an auramancer. Hence, why I was able to give this guy's spirit the boot. A planeswalker spark is connected directly to the soul. Therefore, if I were to gather the soul of a planeswalker... ohohoh!" The man smile goes all the way across his face. "I would be a planeswalker! In addition, I can spread my power among the masses. Ever heard the legend of Will and Rowan? These twins were born with a planeswalker spark. Unlucky for them, they have to be together in order to accomplish anything, as they share... a single spark. But ergo, that proves a spark can be shared amongst multiple beings. Therefore!" His voice suddenly booms throughout the temple. "I have a request, demon and angel. I think we could do something together. If we were to unite, and fulfill my dream. To kill a planeswalker... yes. There would be a surefire way to get you what you want! All that I ask is... Angel!" The man turns to Rafael. "You must help me find a planeswalker. I assure you that either me or this demon could give you the powers to aid you, or even allow you to kill it. But I need its soul! Second. Demon!" The man then faces towards the largest of the statues in the temple. "We may discuss your end of the bargain later, Zanletesh, but in short, I'll need your compliance. Since I'm offering to help you, you'll need to help me. All I ask is that you give this angel the power and guidance he needs to accomplish this task."
@MonkeyPirate2002 There are at least 3 planeswalkers on Stitia. Nsatar, One Unrevealed, and one that still needs to be made. I think you'd be safe from this guy as long as you remain unenticing.
@EmolgAn "The visions of your future. The whispers you've heard. They are my master's power. He sees a future where you prosper. These drakes will help us get there... in good timing. I didn't think you wanted us to walk all the way there, did you?"
Standing before Verth were all of his demons personified. Everything that he has fought throughout his life, physically and mentally, as a lycanthrope hunter culminated in this one monstrosity that was once his ally Joseph. Verth was going to leave this fight as a completely changed person. The question was in what way?
Joseph murdered Uvras, stole his life's work, and was now trying his hardest to convince Verth to go down the same path as him. And as much as Verth hated to admit it, some of Joseph's hateful rhetoric resonated with him. Stitia in its current state is a bloodbath. Everyone is trying to make their way to the top, with Joseph entering the ring as the prime contender for the title. Who was Verth to come up with strange ideas of brotherhood and unity? That wasn't the world he lived in. If anything, he would've been better-off not connecting himself to any group at all. That way he would've stuck to the original plan and he wouldn't have a multitude of new enemies to deal with.
The original plan. That was the issue. No matter how meticulous Verth's plans were, he never found himself pulling though without some kind of loss. Despite his massive successes in Delvad, Uvras was a casualty in Verth's grand plans for a utopia. The cycle of death had to end, and the only way to do it, it seemed, was not through planning. Verth found himself at his strongest when he had Vryx and Arlin at his side, emerging victorious against the Bloodwood and the werehyenas. Even at the very beginning, before meeting Timothy or Joseph or gaining his powers from the Crimson Moon, the Duskwood was a crucial ally in the fight against Layre and his pack. That was when Verth made a critical revelation. Despite what his studies have shown, passion is a powerful weapon. Verth knew what he had to do.
"You're absolutely right. I should embrace the power I have. And because of that, you can't make me give in to fear." Verth calmly replied, staring up at the massive demonic creature closing in on him. As he spoke, Verth felt a strange feeling bubbling up in his chest. Never before has he felt such courage in the face of danger. The coming bout wasn't something that Verth spent lots of time planning. He was simply acting on what should be done, using the passion of his cause to do what is right and just. This was a new Verth Odbar.
"Know this, Joseph. From this day forth, I will use every ounce of my strength, spend every minute of time I have on this earth, to prove you wrong." Verth swore to Joseph. He felt a huge wave of magic building up within his soul. The oath that Verth made soon materialized into red and white mana that circled around Verth, further bolstering his growing power. Verth's absorption of the ring's magic granted him with not only its inherent magical power but the capabilities to channel magic as spellcasters do.
"You may have taken Uvras from me, but underneath all that magic and talk, you're just a sad little man who didn't have the strength to fight your hunger for power. And what's one man against all of Stitia and the hope that all of us share?" Verth's eyes burned with fiery red mana as he transformed into his wereraven form, leaving a large hole on the ground as he shot up into the sky to confront Joseph. Never before has he felt such speed and power in the sky. Now that his martial prowess was augmented with magic, Verth could take back Uvras' supernatural power that Joseph stole. Verth advanced towards Joseph at speeds that rivaled teleportation, allowing his burning desire for justice to take over. As Verth closed in on Joseph, he pretended to go for a powerful kick to the back, his signature attack. However, at the last moment, Verth's initial attack revealed itself to be a feint as Verth attempted to dig his talon-like hands into Joseph's chest to extract the magic and the artifacts he stole from Uvras.
@ElMagici Ana gives you the sword of the fallen warrior, and as you reach it out, its blade facing towards you, the King seems to be lost in thought.
"I... will accept this offering."
The skeleton grabs the sword, and it vanishes. Then, the skeleton suddenly shakes violently, before collapsing into the sand, being absorbed into the dessert.
"Come forward, if you wish. Your actions against the demon hunter are a great service to our safety and wellbeing."
The demons have been dealt with, alongside Bahn Gheshin. Will you accept the offer, or will you return back to Padetra?
@tommia (Sorry! It was exams week and had a lot of things going on)
I don't know if I can reveal my identity. Chances are these men won't respect me like they respected Teegar, and what would treyble's deal do if I happened to reveal this identity?
I can't, I must lead these men to their deaths, and keep only dumb obedient zombies at my command. I will tell them the lies they need to hear, the last thing they hear anyway.
Listen, we will go all in, just like we did back then with the werewolf corpses, I will lead and tank, but I need the smartest of you to be by my side if we are going to pull this off. The zombies will be the second wave and kill off anyone not dead in the initial storm.
I look into my crew's eyes, they have seen me take the shots before, they won't expect my betrayal. Once I'm done with them I will have more freedom, I will practice leaving Teegar's body in private if I happen to be close to death.

Sorry, not sorry...it had to be done. Also, I wanted to see if it could be done.
So, maybe I missed something in the many pages of dialogue, but how important is the Beyond, and should Byro know about it?
"Well, Zanletesh, it seems we have a common ennemy. I need power, you need freedom. Very well. Be unleashed, and let's get things done."
Xataxji then drew a sharp claw along his left palm, releasing a few drops of black oily blood that hissed as they fell in the ritual basin.
