  • @DrakeGladis You accept the request. Among your group, the angel also chooses Dekin. Soon after, a few other angels have been gathered; Sanova is one of them.

"Didn't think I'd see you again so soon, Antchel. How has the light been shining on you?"
You don't even have a chance to think before Nohel formulates the perfect response for you. "It has shone upon us all, Sunhart. Today couldn't be a better day to fight."
    "You can say that again!"
"That's the spirit!" The angel in the front says. "Looks like i was wise to choose you. Don't make me regret me decision."
"Grr..." Dekin mumbles to you. "I's just 'bouta relieve 'em of a few hundred G. This place is a gold mine- no! It is made of gold!"
You tell Dekin to can it. Who knows who heard him?
"Ladies and gentlemen! Those of you that are unarmed, follow me to the armory! Everyone else, wait here."

The armory? Such a shame. While enough gear was able to be salvaged for convincing disguises, weapons included, you kind of wish now that you didn't bring any weapons.

You wait about 10 minutes before, in a moment, a stoic guard descends upon the group.

    image

"Alright everyone! Sorry we had to gather you so suddenly, but the damned dragon knocked down our response tower!"
"May Conse have no mercy upon that dragon!" One of the soldiers cries out. "Send it back to damnation!"
"We'll get within 500 ft of it and loose follow. Archers, you keep us covered. Everyone else, charge it from the front. I'll lead the charge. You'll stay strong as long as you stay with me. Everyone know what we're doing?" The group shouts and raises their weapons. "Then let's do it!"

The fight against Wosy is about to commence. Will you take any actions?
  • // @ThatOneCat Glad you made it back. I'll be getting to you after lunchtime.
  • I wish to slaughter.

@ThatOneCat You are done resting. The visions awoke you from your sleep. Visions of a world where the gods turned against the masses. Visions of a night that never ends. All of it in crystal clear detail.
( http://forums.mtgcardsmith.com/discussion/comment/163698/#Comment_163698 ). And that angel... she's going to be summoning Conse fairly soon, isn't she? You can't have that happening, can you?

"Hey slugabed! Rise and shine!" You feel a pull on your tail as you open your eyes to damnation. The Stitian underworld. You turn to see a devil standing above you. "Khantsievth said every damn being that can fight needs to get their a***s together and meet in the Deep. That means you too, Gistix!"

Sadly for him, you had better things to do. One simple strike gets the point across, and two sends the devil reeling. Three knocks him to his knees, and four is all it takes for him to fall over defeated. You used most of your power in the fight against the angel, and while you may have recovered, you still feel empty. The space where power could of been is left empty by stolen opportunity, but no longer will you allow simple nuisances to strike you down. You are a demon lord, not a mere animal to be bossed around. With one final bite, you take in the devil's tormented soul, and then you fly towards the surface.

    image

You feel the updraft rip past you as you rise. Then, in a moment, a portal of hellfire opens, and you make your way back to Padetra...

You arrive in a graveyard, heavily pillaged. You shiver for a moment, and then see the snow falling from above. It appears to be nighttime. While an inconvenience, it won't affect your travel at all. Using some of your power, you channel some of the devoured souls into raising the dead, and despite the graveyard being in disrepair, the corpses are in fine condition. In addition, you are able to use your power to recreate Demonsong, which should come in handy later...

Where do you plan to go first in search of the angel, or will you do something else?
  • @Tommia A death threat? We didn't come far for nothing. I'm not gonna let some random elves stop us.

@TAHMURAS "Hmph... I expected such belligerence from the Bloodwood. Everyone! Kill them!"

Make a card that can deal with at least one Napped Wrangler in an actual game of magic. The target is 10 points.

Mana Burn - You have posted similar cards for most of your responses. If the next card you submit is a direct damage spell, you will take 2 damage.
  • I want the angel dead. Angel souls sate me for years on end.
  • @ThatOneCat Where will you be headed?

    image
  • Owu, i’ll take over the werewolves.
  • @ThatOneCat As you take to the sky, you can see it in the distance; a new island has formed since your absence. Obviously, your curiosity must be sated. What is this mysterious island, and what lies upon it? For a moment, you almost forget about the angel as you fly your way to the mysterious island.

You arrive to an exotic island. A raised pool of water lies in a trench on the beach. Cherry blossom trees make up most of the forestry of the land. As you fly towards the island, however, you feel a mysterious force pass over you. The sky flashes into a stunning aurora and purplish hues, and calming music fills the air. You can hear instruments in the distance. A gong is banged 5 times, and you look down to see a group of elves and a group of wolfkin, both armed with bows and watching you pass, but they are not firing. You head into the mainland, and you land inside of an apparent city, albeit a somewhat small one lined with marble.

"A flying cat?" A wolfkin approaches you, intrigued. A strange noise erupts from your stomach, signaling your hunger for souls. "My! You must be hungry! Let me get you something to eat!"

The scribe walks over to an art stand and digs in a small hempen sack. He comes back with a plate and a small fish, and places it in front of you.

    Planewide Phenomenon

With a decline of rangers and lycanthrope hunters, the lycanthrope population is reaching a fever pitched spike, with few who actively attempt to stop them surviving.
  • I’m about to commit werewolf genocide, if that helps.
  • Gistix was mad. He had been wronged, and they were trying to make peace? They wished to be nice? He shook his head angrily and figured what he would do.

It would leave him lacking in energy, probably get it back thousandfold.

He meowed peacefully and got a pet from the scribe.

    The scribe... pet him?

    Peace was never an option.

  • @Tommia

"It was the Six who sent you, weren't they!"

    image
  • @Tommia, I apologize, but where does Byro stand in this whole situation?
  • @spookoops You have still just arrived. Just pretend Enerew is in the future and you're still in the time rift XD

Feel free to take any role you want, as long as it will somehow aid the team in achieving their goals (if a scouting session doesn't sound fun, you could act as a diversion, for example.)
  • @Tommia

So, what do you think of the card?
  • @EnvyReaper I'll be taking a look at it in a bit. I am trying to work someone into the Saga. To say the least, things may be getting a lot more risky >;3

@ThatOneCat As the scribe pets you, they realize your fur is somewhat singed from your passage through damnation.

"My goodness! I'm sorry! I didn't realize you were hurt! Thankfully, you came to a good place! Tenlar! Can you get some burn ointment?"

The wolfkin is concerned about a minor singe? How pitiful; they should be more concerned by the singeing you're about to cause.

"A cat?" An elf has also noticed you. "You aren't from here, are you? Come here!"

"Mom! Can we keep it?" A child approaches you next. Now, you're surrounded, but it's only a matter of time before you can unleash your power...

"I'm here, Ren." Another wolfkin comes over, this time with a small container. He dips his hand in it. "Poor creature. You must be suffering right now. Let me rub a small amount of this into your fur and your burns should- GAH! What in blazes-"

Your fur catches on fire as you unleash a torrent of fire and brimstone. Channeling directly into the underworld, you create a massive explosion in the center of the city. After the smoke clears, you look around. Most of the people in the surrounding area were killed. You left a decent sized crater in the ground, and destroyed several shops and buildings. However, it's apparent that your power was somewhat lacking. Moments later, a group of wolfkin mages come around the corner and see you on fire, taking in the souls of the victims.

The blast was not enough to neutralize all nearby targets. A 13 would have been required.

"You there! You... you killed all of these people. Our master will not be pleased."

    image

In a moment, they prepare to cast a spell, and it's readily apparent it'll take more than a simple blast if you plan to take out the city.

Make a card to deal with at least one Lunar Sage, It'll be judged as usual, with a target of 10.

Card Summary for Sporadic Wave: 10/15
2 points Balance (Far too powerful; choose a creature, the destroy the rest costs 7 with 3 colors, likely needing to cost 8 with 2.)
    3 points Grammar/Syntax (multiple minor)
2 points Realism, Color Pie (effect would be worded differently)
2 Colors & Themes Of Character
    1 point Flavor

While decent, this card is too powerful. It will almost never be used for its damage, reading more among the lines of 1BBRR: Choose up to one creature. Destroy the rest. I'm not against the deathtouch aspect, but it seems too narrow on this. It would likely need a redesign among these lines:

    Sporadic Wave XBR

    Sorcery

    Kicker 3BR

Choose a creature. Sporadic Wave deals X damage to the rest. If Sporadic Wave was kicked, destroy the rest instead.

  • @EnvyReaper As the fighting continues, you realize how simple the situation is. Perhaps, you don't have enough life force to draw on in order to cast a proper spell, but there is a very simple way to solve both problems. You hold your amulet, and it begins to flow with wretched energy as you hold it against the clerics. One after another, their very being collapses into dust as the amulet absorbs their power. The fighting stops as everyone looks on in horror. The entire legion just seems to begin to disappear as though it were never there.

One of the clerics closes in on you from behind, when suddenly, a veil surrounds you. The attack passes through you as though you weren't there, and the cleric's scepter gets caught in a tangle of roots emerging from the ground.

"You have my assistance!" Lim shouts out. She is now standing nearby, focusing her magic on you. You thank her as you continue to hold out the amulet. "I can feel it. You draw from the same energies as I do. Focus that amulet on me! I can channel you power from the leylines!"

You don't waste a breath as Lim grabs ahold of your amulet. You feel an overwhelming surge of power flow through you, more than enough life force to cast any spell you'd need to. All it takes is a swift motion, and a portal opens behind the enemy, pulling in the angels and the clerics, as well as the dust that remains of those that have already died. In an instant, it seems like almost the entire group is gone.

    "What- what is this?!"
    "We're clearly outmatched here!"
    "Holy s**t!" Scarf yells.
    "Everyone! Retreat! It's hopeless!"

Critical hit! You managed to intimidate the group into surrendering.

Will you pursue the group or allow them to flee?

Card Summary for Banish Thy Other: 14.5/15 (Counts as a 15 in this case)
5 points Balance (Not 100% sure, so I have you the benefit of the doubt on this)
    4 points Grammar/Syntax
2.5 points Realism, Color Pie (Very minor)
2 Colors & Themes Of Character
    1 point Flavor

(Text and cost reference: https://scryfall.com/search?as=grid&order=name&q=(oracle:Choose+oracle:a+oracle:creature+oracle:type.+oracle:Destroy+oracle:all+oracle:creatures) , Zombie Apocalypse, and Endemic Plague)
  • @Tommia Thanks for telling me how to post the images. I think I'm going to splash black into my colors. As for my action? Well, I think I'm gonna need some allies.

    image
  • @Tommia

    Yay, I have wonded it.

Draundr chooses to let them go

"That was close, why were they after me?"
  • @Tommia

Byro was never to really scout out his endeavors, more of an impulsive man of action. Depending on what kind of diversion we are looking for, I can make that work. Byro has always been a healer first and foremost, so he will also do what he can in the recovery factor as well.

    ATTENTION!

I will no longer be available during the day on weekdays, when I was normally available. Rest assured I'll take out of my personal time to take care of this, but I'm now under constant surveillance at light duty, so I can't work on the Saga here anymore. Please be patient from now on

    @Bowler218 @Tommia

(Hey, folks! I'm back now. I'll try to post a bit more, but life has been a little hectic for me. I hope I can fix the mistakes of my absence...)

In the short-lived battle between Nsatar and Timothy, Verth was unexpectedly transported to a world of complete darkness. He couldn't move, or speak, or even breathe. One moment he was preparing a spell to save Nsatar, and the next moment everything was black.

Was he alive? Was he dead? Even Verth didn't know of his fate. All he knew was that the side-effects of Timothy's stolen magic transported Verth's mind and soul to a dimension of endless darkness. Verth floated in this world of emptiness for what seemed like hours. He even forgot who he was, and what he was fighting for and against. When Verth eventually restored his consciousness, he was met with total chaos. Without Verth's support magic, Nsatar was completely incapacitated by Timothy. How could Verth freeze up like this? And at such an important moment, as well. The magic that he stole from Timothy was fueled completely by fear, and this fear overtook Verth in the worst way possible. He could only hope that Vryx and their allies were able to take care of him.

"...What happened? Where's Timothy? And Nsatar?!" Verth regained his senses, frantically scanning the room for who was there with him. A part of his mind wished that the heroes prevailed, but the answer Verth was expecting was obvious. Due to the shock and whiplash of returning to the real world left Verth completely oblivious to his time of returning and who was around him, and just decided to speak his mind. "Oh, gods I'm so sorry," Verth slammed his hands on his head in frustration. He uttered his apology for Delvad's sake and for Vryx. "Something happened...I couldn't move! I was ready to fight and everything fell apart!"

// @TAHMURAS IT HAVE DIRECC DAMAGE- jk. I'm not that mean.

Your color identity is now Rakdos.

As one of the werecats attempt to grab you, you knock them away with a claw to the face. Time is of the essence, so you can't afford to waste a second, and you need to make the most of what time you have. Drawing on dark forces, you summon a group of demons to aid you. The werecats attempt to defend themselves, but to no prevail as they are swiftly murdered and burned to ashes. They don't stand a chance, and in mere moments, all of them are dead.

"Well then... it looks like you aren't holding anything back today!"
    "Excellent work, Tahmuras!"

You can hear the vampire shouting. You turn to see him grasping his face in pain. "Does everyone you meet-... suffer like this?"
"Anyone who opposes us will suffer. Now shut up."

You continue following the elves until you reach a dark cave.

    "Ladies and gentlemen... follow me."

The general leads you into a dark cavern, little only by dark, purple flames.

"Bloodwood... you have pleased me." A deep disembodied voice fills the room. "Your savagery and skill are remarkable. You may enter. "

The general places the vampire's corpse upon an altar in the center of the room. She summons a flame on her finger and begins to light candles upon it.

"The ritual is prepared. I am ready."
"Do not scramble to take my power. All of your enter this room as Bloodwood. Only one of you will leave with my gift. I am loathe to give my gift to the first person who sets their knees in front of my altar. You must prove yourself worthy." The room becomes bright as the flames turn to a bright red. "If you are willing to pay any cost, show me how much you'll pay..."
    "Absolutely... I won't disappoint you."

    image

Suddenly the General turns around and kills one of the other elves.

    "Ern! What are you-"
The general laughs as she pushes her hair out of her face. "I'm claiming what's mine. Anyways, thank you for coming. Your deaths will be for the greater good..."

Will you fight Ern? If you do, make a card to deal with her.
  • Ern is about to be put in a time-out from life
  • // @spookoops Very well. You could provide any sort of assistance, such as sabotaging the attempts of the Beyond to interfere with Wosy's rampage, you could go pillaging, or you could look around for opportunities to jump on. The choice is up to you.

Also, since I won't be on as often anymore, if you have a line of action that may require a card (i.e. attempting to interfere with an attack) it may be a good idea to post it in advance.

@EnvyReaper As the few remaining enemies attempt to flee, the others chase after them.

"Leave at once, you damned lunatics!"
"On my honor, I apologize for this, Conse. Be fair with your judgement."
    "Wait! I'm still angry-"
"GET YER DAMN A***S BACK HERE YOU COWARDS!"
    "Rusty... don't lose your temper..."

You call out for your allies to stop fighting. Scarf gives you a dirty look, then keeps going. Lilith quick grabs his shoulder and pulls him back. Rusty tries to push through them, but the guards step in.

"Let me through!" Rusty yells at the guards as he swings his axe at one of them.
"The enemy has been routed. Stand down," orders Bernard.
"Out of the way!" With a powerful push, Scarf sends Siegfried flying into the wall, and he and Rusty attempt to pursue the group.
"This is not the order of things!" Lim runs towards the others. "Cease this violence now!"
    "Neve-"

Lim's eyes begin to glow as she aims a finger at them. "That's a warning. I'll interfere if I must."

Scarf quickly tries to slip out, when suddenly, the ground erupts in the way. The door is blocked, and Scarf and Rusty become bound in branches.

"What the hell is that?!" Scarf tries to double back, but he's caught in the brambles.
"The consequence of your belligerence," Lim says sternly. "And I doubt you'll be able to break free any time soon."
"Could we stop being treated like prisoners?"
"Both of you should be in a prison. A mental prison. No normal person acts this violent."
"I don't think you're the first person to have that thought today," Lilith sharply follows.
"I hate to second Lilith here," Siegfried begins, "but both of you have been quite aggressive."
Scarf groans and gives up in surrender.
"What the f*** is the meanin' of this?!" Rusty is trying to break free, but can't even budge.
    "The enemy has surrendered-"
"They'll just come back prepared and more p****d than ever!"
"That may be true, but a true warrior knows mercy. Even if they do come back to kill us-"
"Here you are talking about peace and mercy when this guy just wiped out a small army with a portal," Scarf cuts in. "I'm pretty sure you passed subtlety at word go."

Schoren looks at Scarf, as much to tell him to shut up.

"So... if we're done trying to get killed, it's time to find Danny," Lilith says.
"This day has been crazy for me," Lim comments. "I... I never thought I'd see an angel in my life... and yet the first time-... Lord forgive me!" Lim falls on her knees again, bawling away. "Is this life here? Is this everything... *sniffle* you know?"
"Uh, yeah, we kinda said that!" Scarf lashes out.
"It wasn't always like this," Lilith continues, "but this is how it is now. It seems like day after day everyone's losing their minds."
"Nmph..." Lim grimaces at this. "This place is torture. *sniffle* Please don't tell me *sniffle* everyone's like this."
"No, but we've had a string of ups and downs."
"Why am I crying? I'm weak... weak and miserable."
"Calm down Lim." Lilith places her hand on Lim's shoulder.
"Here I am, breaking down over what happened to me... yet every day here is worse..."
"You don't have to worry about it. I've heard so much about the other planes. One of my ancestors was a planeswalker. He used to write about his adventures, and how almost every plane was so much better... but he was King at the time, so he had to stay on Stitia. While Stitia may be bad, there's worse out there. He used to tell my great grandfather 'Always look up, even when the moon doesn't shine. No matter how bad things get, at least you're alive. Even it seems like you live just to suffer... at least you have a chance to overcome that suffering before you die. And remember; somewhere out there, in the infinite expanses of the multiverse, in the grander scheme of things, someone out there is doing worse than you.'"
"I suppose that's a good way to look at it..." Lim agrees as she wipes away her tears.
