Of the people who didn't post, they ended up having the lowest score. I am sorry it had to come to this. Warp some gas station snacks in from across time, shove all your teleportation devices in the back of your larger-on-the-inside SUV, and HEAD HOME!
The apprentice sat half-proudly, half-terrified in the rickety carriage. It was sleek and well-built in good Saklinian fashion, but also dusty and old, joints creaking with every spin of the wheel. Perhaps they didn't expect the carriage to come back from the journey.
But before he could finish the though, the carriage came to a screeching halt. The darkness outside the windows was all-encompassing, pure blackness. Not even a hint of grey. "Sir?" He asked, after a moment of silence. "You don't expect me to just...leave?"
"Don't shoot the messenger, young sire." Said the driver, his old, gruff voice echoing throughout the back room. "You're doing a great service to your Empire. Now go." There was a pause. "Go to your new masters. I'm sure you'll achieve great things there."
Swallowing, the young apprentice left the carriage without another word. If he was to commit himself to his Empire, he had to go through with this. He let his eyes adjust to the darkness when he felt it. A burning fear, spreading through his body, cutting into his heart and forcing him to freeze. As the terror mounted, he turned back to the carriage, but, with the whinny of a horse and the crack of a whip, it has begun to drive off into the dark.
He didn't bother to run, because two massive, glowing balls of light had emerged from the blackness behind him, their light casting shadows onto some sort of monstrous, ethereal face, twenty feet high to the brow. He felt it grin.
"Hello, child."
As the apprentice was absorbed into the horror's consciousness, the carriage wheeled away back to a Saklinian Empire that had just acquired a few more tales, courtesy of a certain High Prophet Hastyr.
The Rangers have gotten through most of their life with a solid barter system, so why should now be any different. Jack sends out emissaries to edge of his lands, in the hopes of finding another colony.
The Stargazer Society ( @Lujikul ) looks to be of an amicable people, and so Jack starts some basic trade talks with them, with the hopes that they can move forward more peacefully. And, maybe attract other colonies along the way.
I don't know, personally I lean towards black, so if I were you guys, I would make cards that put my ally in a bad situation so I can push them out of the spot, hint hint

Everyone else, here's your challenge:
TRÆDE!
No burgeoning colony makes it forth without trading! So pick a person IN YOUR VICINITY, who is NOT YOUR ALLIANCE, and send them a trader or two!
Expect your map shortly

The webfolk open a market for use by their allies, in particular Nelthoren.
