Today is the last day for entries everyone. As a note, my timezone is EST, so entries after Midnight EST will not be counted towards the contest. I will begin the Judging process afterwards and post the winners as soon as i can.
Thank you all again for your interest in the contest, there are a lot of great entries.
Thank you for patiently waiting! I present to you the winners of The Legendary Expansion!
I found it very exciting to see what kind of things people would bring to the table, and let me tell you, there were a lot of great cards.
First as the honorable mention of the contest! @sorinjace - Riffle
I truly admire the simplicity and yet great impact this kind of card can have. The second I saw this card I knew it had a spot here. But being so simple also means it wasn't enough to put it into a placement. Great work though!
Next, 3rd place! @TenebrisNemo - The Phantom's Return
Everything about this card makes it worth this spot. I feel the cost as well and the colors used were on point. The flavor behind the whole card works very well. And i could easily seeing a card like this being effective in an EDH setting, making a great card for any great comeback possible.
Not much to say about this except "wow". This card can be so powerful in many ways. Yeah, counter spells aren't usually that exciting. But this... this holds its place because of the second part of the ability. This could be so strong, but it is very situational. I feel the cost fits well due to it being so situational. But I could not look past this card either. It was a tough decision, but it's been made.
Holy cow! This card... i just... wow. At first glance I wasn't interested in this card much. Seemed to be a little too much. But then I thought about it more and more. And I could not shake this card out of my head. Like, i really want one in every deck i can fit it into. And some explanation behind this as follows: 1: It's a great way to go out with a bang. 2: It's easily preventable by destroying the Legendary, or the numerous counters that exist. 3: You ALSO lose the game. It's the greatest ultimatum. "If i lose because of you, you lose. Ha."
1st - 5 Favorites of their choice, a Follow and 1 Circuit Point 2nd - 3 Favorites of their choice and 3/4 Circuit Point 3rd - 2 Favorites of their choice and 1/2 Circuit Point Honorable Mentions (If enough enter) - 1 Favorite of their choice and 1/4 Circuit Point.
All placements will get a favorite on their Entries in addition to the rewards.
Thank you so much for all of the entries in this contest. For those of you who placed, I would like you to PM me the cards you'd like favorite'd based off of your placement.
I will ask to close this discussion tomorrow so people can comment still.
