  • So... we can all submit cards now and just wait for when both of the pair have cards? Or does it have to be in the order as you wrote it?
  • edited September 2019
Sorry for the delay @Pepperoni, @KorandAngels, I was on a dive trip in the middle of the ocean, just got back home. I will send card soon.

Also, am I able to cast enchantments or have equipment? Or, is this like Sorcery/Instant only?

Thirdly, since we're in a Phyrexian arena, am I able to use Phyrexian mana?

@thephantomjoker everyone can send their card, I'll Let you know when a match Is made. No specific order.

@spookoops no rules for now, the only thing I wouldn't cast would be planeswalkers, it would be awkward, but even that is not out of the rules.

@Pepperoni Since there's no place anymore, Imma be a spectator, I guess.

"Epipepsi, nuka-cola, duff beer, ent-draught, only for a few kribbitz, fresh from the cooling chamber..."
  • @sanjaya666 you can be in the waiting list, revan is waiting for an opponent as well, I could pair you with him

    Finally, a match!

The gates of the stage open. Both wizards approach each other.

One of them (@Acenin11) instantly cracks all of his artifacts; White, Black and red mana; the mana starts to take shape. a vampire becomes visible inside the massive cloud of energy.

    image

Meanwhile, a more hesitant mage (@Shadow123 ) cracks only three artifacts, Azorious colors; they try to break the vampire spell before it materializes, but it is too late, the vampire has taken form and dashes towards them. Reusing the residual mana from his counterspell, the mage uses their two remaining scrap artifacts and quickly creates a net of binding energy that traps the vampire inches away from murdering them.

    image

Having used all of their available mana in a zero sum fight, the stage's walls begin to narrow down, getting both wizards closer to each other. @shadow123 is forced dangerously close to the trapped vampire and his sword.

@Acenin11 knows only pure violence is left now, so he closes the gap and pushes their adversary against the walls, @shadow123 tries to recover from the rage-driven attack and, knowing neither of them was prepared for a close-combat scenario, steps on the vampire's growling body, Acenin11 approaches again with a large jaw bone he could find on the floor and runs towards shadow123 in an attempt to finish the fight...

In the last sencond, Shadow123, breaks the binding net trapping the vampire under them and grabs the vampire's heavy sword, using all of his strength to raise it, they manage to hit Acenin11 under the armpit. The cut went deep enough to break a main blood vessel, the bleeding went for a few debilitating seconds until Acenin11 couldn't go anymore, the vampire dissipated into the arena's air... shadow123 was the winner, for now the screams from a crowd satisfied with a gruesome bloodbath calm the winner.

GREAT! @Acenin11 lost by only 1 point, that was a close match!

@shadow123, you are the winner of the first match. You have no artifacts added to the next round, you earned two favorites at random from your creations. You can reclaim them now or can buy extra tokens for your next match (You will all be given a few tokens for the next match but you can buy tokens for an extra advantage)

    STORE:

Pay 2 favorites: You get a Lotus token.
    image

Pay 1 favorite: You get a Treasure token.
    image

Pay 1 favorite: You get two Scrap tokens.

Pay 1/2 favorites: You get a Pepsi and a Hotdog combo.

I bought x1 lotus, x1 treasure, x2 scrap. I favourited Family Values, Pack Hunting, Basking Dreamwalla and Dream Fisher.
I didn't buy the food because I stole everyone's drinks earlier.
    @spookoops are you ready?
  • @KorandAngels I think only the last contenders can participate in buying after the match.
  • @Korandangels hhahahsjhajsjhajshaahs I get that it was a joke. But yeah, just to be clear and so everyone knows, the winner can get me to like two of his or her cards OR buy things from the store instead.
  • @Pepperoni yay! do we get the same amount of treasures/scraps?
  • @Shadow123 You'll have too wait until round two.
  • It's in preparation because I used some Or all of my tokens already.
  • I just realized that @Faiths_Guide might not have gotten their ping due to capitalization.

    So...

    *ping!*

    SECOND MATCH

    @Spookoops vs. @KorAndAngels

The gates of the stage open once more. Kor takes the first step and quickly asserts dominance on the place. Spooks takes his steps under a more reactive pace. The heat starts quickly, even more fiery than the last fight, Kor breaks their three treasures into Jeskai colored mana and summons a powerful manticore they obviously have round knowledge of.

    image

Spooks doesn't attempt to act against the spell nor the resolved manticore, they simply break two treasures and a scrap, surround themselves with a golden barrier and expect the attack of the Manticore.

    image

Kor doesn't waste time, they send the Manticore straight for Spooks skin, and breaks their last remaining scraps to give his invocation a rush of ferocity. As the manticore reaches the barrier, spooks sends the kinetic energy of the Manticore's claws back to Kor, Kor tries to avoid them as best as they can but does get a few scratches in the skin and eventually gets hit in the leg by a lost slash of redirected kinetic energy and falls. Luckly Spooks won't be able to redirect as precisely for so long.

Spooks expected the manticore to be tired after a couple hits, but they just kept coming and coming, Spooks had to use their last artifacts to keep redirecting the energy from the attacks and could barely hold his stance past a couple minutes. The manticore seems extremely powerful, they have to change strategy quickly. Spooks falls back a few steps and reshapes tha aura around him in a disk-shaped blade form; they push the manticore and all tha kinetic energy flying accross the stage, damaging both himself and Kor in the process, the manticore was also hurt but still goes after Spooks. At this point, everyone is either tired or severely hit.

Because the three characters are struggling to fight in this conditions, the cruel masters decide to throw a few tools into the stage for them to finish the job.

    image image

They give each wizard a rudimentary tool of murder, Spooks, doesn't think twice and sprnts to grab theirs. As the injured manticore crawls closer, Kor also approaches slowly even with their wounded leg, Bone Saw in hand. Spooks embeds the saw directly into the manticore's left eye and all the way into its brain, receiving some good portion of claws in his arms as well from the animal. but eventually it is defeated.

Crawling yet determined, Kor grabs Spooks leg as the manticore gave its last breath, Spooks barely has the energy to kick Kor away. They both use their bone saws to hurt each other as much as they can, Spooks can only back off, they have lost too much blood. Kor manages to stand and tries to plunge into Spooks´s flesh but Spooks gathers whatever particles of red mana are left in the air and directs them at Kor's face in a weak channel, Kor is slighly burned by this and blinded but still is able to punch their face. both falling and passing away on the ground semi conscious.

As both wizards are extremely weak, the judges declare the first tie of the night, congratulations, I guess!

You both get 2 favorites each, you can spend them in the store or claim them now!

(Wow, no matter how I adjusted criteria, this was a perfect tie when judging).
  • That was difficult.
I buy the things I tried to above now that I ran out.

@korandangels you can get a lotus (1) or four scraps (4), either way that's a lot of extra mana for your next challenge.

Unless you are planning on casting highly multicolored spells, in that case you should get a treasure (1) and a couple scraps (2).
  • Ytsix didn’t expect things to be this gruesome. But then again, he never expected to be in Phyrexia in the first place, let alone with no way to return to (the plane of) Tommia. Maybe he should of done more research, or should of just focused on the strange artificing the Phyrexians are so obsessed with.

Feeling a bit queasy from all of the blood, Ytsix finds the nearest restroom...
  • I'll take the treasure x1, scap x2
  • @KorandAngels, well played. I was not expecting the use of an Un mechanic.
  • It isnt one. that is how triple strike functions.
  • @KorandAngels triple strike is from unstable you know, an Un set. also sad that i lost but that was fun congrats @shadow123. @pepperoni could i get points break down so i can see how i lost, not upset just curious.
  • It is an “un-mechanic”, but that’s only because implementation requires a rules change.
  • @Acenin11 thanks! You did well too!

John Tremaine shook his head. It was not a pretty site, these gruesome battles, but if he was going to put an end to the terror and cruelty of the Phyrexians, he had to participate, and become the champion, only then would he get a hearing with Phyrexian leaders, and he would destroy them. He sighed, then began eating his hot dog.
  • Triple strike, as well as last strike, creates a new sub phase next to first strike and normal combat damage. But he didn't break the rules of my contest, so I allowed it and actually gave it points for originality. Un mechanics are hard to balance but Kor did their best to get it together.

@everyone, I was not complaining about the use of Triple strike at all. I was just merely commenting on the fact that I was not expecting an Un-mechanic. @KorandAngels designed and played well.
