  • @Norzael, I just looked it up.
  • @Norzael Did you have your match yet?
  • Currently @monkeypirate2002 @revan and @sanjaya666 are on waiting list. I got confused as well, I was going to ask Revan and Monkey if they are ok being paired against each other, but phyrexians don't ask nicely. So, fight coming in soon!

The masters saw the contestants bend the rules once and again, if they wished to keep the entertainment going, they had to find better ways to raise the tension.

For the next match, they tried to analize the fighters more carefully and experiment as soon as action took place.

The lab rats entered the stage. Farona ( @monkeypirate2002 ) is allowed to enter first. The masters observe their every move as it waits for their rival.

John ( @revan ) enters second. Not yet provided of treasures, the two only stare at each other with cold caution. Their treasures and scrap are then simultaneously provided behind them. Almost in perfect symmetry, both of them cracked the artifacts, Farona using four of them to cast a formidable and noxious creature. John only breaks only one treasure and waits into a defensive-reactive position.

The masters try a new trick and spread a thick fog through the vents, no mana, only limited visibility; both mages are but annoyed with this since they can't properly see their opponent's attacks.

John has to be extra careful being the reactive fighter, so he starts moving in circles, using his hearing to locate the creatures moves, he also doesn't want to reveal his position with a glowing hand, so he hides it under his robe.

Farona explores the battlefield with the creature, randomly ordering to slash and jump, not knowing what would happen.

The masters pull a former trick and begin to narrow the walls of the stage, increasing the chances of the mages to find each other. John, knowing he only has one shot to redirect the creatures attack back to its controller, takes a bold decision.

"HERE!" he screams, attracting the creature directly to him. Only being able to listen the running footsteps making the floor shake, he calculates the creature's velocity and tries to catch it.

The fog goes down after a flash of light, John being impaled by the creature's claw, this was more entertaining than watching the blindly wander in the fog. More tests ought to be tested. Next round of fights will be perfect.

@monkeypirate2002 wins the match. as everyone else, you gain 2 favorites, you may use your remaining treasure for your next fight, you will be provided mana anyways.

You may also spend your favorites in the store.

Pay 2 favorites: You get a lotus token.

Pay 1 favorite: You get a treasure.

Pay 1 treasure: You get two scrap tokens.

  • Neato. I’ll make my decision tomorrow
  • Ouch. @Revan , that must have hurt. Good fight ya'll.
  • I’ll take 4 scrap tokens
  • @Pepperoni I’ve decided. Can I have a treasure and two scrap tokens?
  • @shadow123 yes.

As for the remaining two fights, I'm awaiting for responses. They seem to be busy, so if they don't answer by tomorrow, I will announce the next round of fights among winners.

They will fight anyways when they respond and will advance in the competition, things will get messy in the next rounds, the masters are experimenting as much as they can with these battles ;)

After a short blink that left everyone in the arena confused, the next match was finaly here.

The mages entered, saw their treasures displayed infront and took a defensive position. The masters saw this and knew they were facing the same problem: Mages tend to be reactive, so they must act to incentivie action.

As @Norzael and @HeroKP danced around the battlefield, the first did not take their eyes away from Hero's hands, hero, on the other hand, paid more attention to where they were standing, looking at the floor and its consistency.

Eventually the masters became worried and realized this was going nowhere, they decided to let natural selection take care of this.

    image image image

Three hounds were released. Not knowing if the mages would attack each other, at least this would entertain the audience. Hero coudn't stay still, breaking three of their artifacts they summoned a wall of branches and trees that covered almost the entire stage and virtually changed the structure of the place. The hounds became lost in the dense jungle, trying to hunt the mages.
    image

Altough Norzael could have stopped that spell, seeing that it was not directed at them, they allowed it, hiding beneath roots and displaced soil. Hero knew the forest better, and climbed on top of the thickest treetop were they could see the hounds and Norzael approach.

The masters were pleased with the unexpected scenario, however, a hide and seek game was not ideal, and even if the hounds did find the mages, they might survive or worse, kill them were no one could see it. They decided this match had to end now...

    image

A large abomination emerged from the soil, destroying trees in its way to hunt the mages. When the area became clearer with the devastation the gargantua had created, Norzael and Hero left their hiding places. The newly created forest had created an enviroment relatively rich in mana, so Hero might be able to recast their spell to bind the creature, otherwise, both mages would be destroyed.

Hero gathered all the mana he could and began channeling it as the gargantua closed the gap between them. Norzael saw this attempt and knew it was their chance to win, a few branches would only slow it down anyways.
    image

Norzael cracked four of their artifacts and attempted to collapse Hero's spell in their hands to kill them. Hero, knowing the mana produced was insuficient and that diverted leylines did not allow mana to freely flow here, only used their available mana to regenerate the branches around them and cover themselves in a cocoon of wood and leaves that would merely be kicked by the gargantua. Having thrown the spell, Norzael revealed their position, the gargantua lost sight of Hero but could clearly see Norzael, with little mana available, it took a few seconds for the metallic claws to reach Norzael's flesh and crush their body, leaving not much to recognize. Hidden from the surviving hound and gargantua, Hero was considered the winner. Not really pleased, the masters allowed Hero to advance in the competition.

Hero you've survived, you won two favorites, the chance to continue on the slaughter and access to the store as well!

Ytsix is carried out of the audience by the masters to use a time reversal spell, with no regards to his belongings. The incomplete prosthetic falls off his arm. I hope they realize he needed it...
  • @Tommia LMAOOOO thank you, that's very helpful.
  • *Examins the arm*
  • @Norzael , you haven't fought yet.
