The mages went to the lateral edge of the canyon, where the power line broke. They knew the phyrexians were coming sooner or later. Ytsix and Shadow began gathering mana from the released leylines, enormous amounts. They both would take some time to finish these spells, so their allied wizards opted to take the lead on the first attack.
While the mages stretched and prepared their spells, the masters finished recombining Nahri and Kor's bodies into an incompareable champion. The creation opened their eyes, full of rage and pain, they were given access to all the mana they needed, each thought of them similar and coordinated yet independent, they walked to the window in the arena's highest balcony and saw the mages below. preparing for battle.
The mages saw creatures coming out of the gates, it was beginning, Shadow prepared for the first wave, it would take all of their tricks to survive.
Lucas used his Ice magic to freeze the arena and create a snow storm, this would slow down the incoming phyrexians and give them time to act.
The arena's size was considerable, "Just freeze our path, Lucas" said Hiro, "You have been fighting a lot, some of us have more energy right now". Lucas felt this, his arms had bruises and were tired, he listened to Hiro's advice and sat for a second, only extending the storm in a vortex around them, them being in the eye of this storm, moving with it to the arena.
The creatures became recognizable as they got closer. Arbiters that looked over them in their first fights were now marching towards the survivors in erratic fashion.
The Arbiters got their feet stuck on the ice forming at least 30 meters from the Mages, spewing toxic substances from their position, they were a relatively easy target until a roar was heard from inside the still fairly distant arena. The Arbiters gained an unexpected strength and broke the ice holding their legs, they began walking to the mages in the ice vortex's slowing cold, but this wasn't the worst part, the roars became clearer when its origin came out of the gates.
The manticore advanced to their position with a clear confidence, it only sent one display of its ferocity, slashing past the arbiters walking,
Shadow quickly jumped to take the hit using counter magic.
It absorbed the slash and the shadow's spell glowed ready to release it back to the approaching manticore, "To the arbiters!" screamed Ytsix before Shadow released the energy, whilst grabbing his arm and redirecting it in the arbiters direction. Two of the closests arbiters were launched a few meters back with this counterattack. "The manticore's wings are coated, it seems to be resistant to spells" said Ytsix adjusting his googles and squinting at the manticore.
"Well, we have to kill it somehow." Said Shadow
"We have to kill them now" We have to kill it now said Musa, pointing at a second creature coming out of the arena's gates.
A second mosnstruosity howled and gave the arbiters yet another boost of strength, now they were a threat coming at a dangerous speed.
"We have to destroy this NOW!" screamed Muse, releasing all the mana he had gathered earlier in a devastating wave that pushed even the manticore back a few steps and shed its wing's scales a bit.
One of the arbiters was eroded completely, leaving nothing but its burned metallic skeleton behind, another one lost a leg, and the wave even reached the arena breaking windows and damaging structural points. Damage was enough to make part of the roof to plummet and raise dust everwhere, The mages couldn't see much now, Shadow was able to use his enhanced abilities to neutralize the remaining arbiters as they got closer, Lucas stopped the storm for a moment to create something in else in hopes of it defending everyone.
The wyvern explored the dust-covered path around them, the mages were side by side expecting the worst. A growl of the wyvern was heard near them, it was struggling against one of the big creatures seen before, Nhri. The growls stopped and the dust slowly went down and revealed the preators dangerously close to the mages, devouring the wyvern.
"We are being distracted by these things, EVERYONE MOVE." Ordered Hiro, suggesting them to avoid the preators and rush to the arena. So they did, each of them ran in a different direction, trying to enter; to their surprise, Nhri and Kr did not go after them, they were all able to enter the arena and close the gates behind them.
The arena was seemingly empty, all lights dimmed down and the place silent as a Basilica. Hiro, as it was seen before of him, decided to take stealth and look for another way to end this.
While Hiro sneaked through the arena's corners, Lucas, Ytsix, Shadow and Musa got up the stairs and seats where audience used to be, Musa found the main lights and turned them on. The lights showed Kor and Nahri sitting in the opposite side of the stage's seats.
"Mother of Mercy. What did they turned you guys into?!" Said Lucas with disgust in between teeth.
"Your deathbringers" Said simultaneously Nahri-Kor, raising a finger, movement that made the whole place move.
The entire east section of the arena was opened a hole by a monstrous creature, throwing pieces of metal and dust accross the stage.
An invocation of pure chronomagic raised before everyone, Arbiters had already found their way into the arena through the hole made by the creature Kahori. Musa used the same devastating spell that he used before, he was far away from the released leyline now, so this time it was barely enough to push the behemoth coming for them, the act put him in the frontline, wich made him an easy target for one of the arbiter''s acid to hit his shoulder, the other mages could barely help him walk away. Regardless, Ytsix's invocation walked to Kahori with complete serenity, easily dodging the arbiters in the way, one of them by the left side, another by its right side, and yet another simply walking before it in a fashion observable yet ultimately incomprehensible. Ytsix's creature reached Kahori and with only one of its long fingers it barely caressed it, creating an explosion of time around it, slowing the creature in place along the arbiters and its creator, Nahri-Kor while allowing the surviving mages to move in real time.
"What is this?" Asked Musa admiring the properties of time distortion around him.
"Don't ask, let's just finish this." Said Ytsix as he lead the rest to Nahri-Kor and grabbed a rusted metal tube from the floor. The moment they arrived next to Nahri-Kor's slowed-in-time body, Ytsix closed his eyes and raised the metal tube to murder whatever was left of them.
"WAIT!" Hiro's voice was heard from above them in the last balcony standing of the arena. "I found something"
Shadow saw the time-warping wearing off and took the metal tube from Ytsix's hands, it took him only one good swing to break both jaws before time went back on. "Just in case" he said.
The mages were able to climb upstairs now that Kahori had no orders to follow while Nahri-Kor was unconscious from the hit, they saw Hiro inside a hidden room "Over here!" he called them. The mages entered the room and Ytsix inmediately helped him break the door's lock. They managed to open the lock, however they could open it as if something or someone was pulling it the other way from inside. Shadow kicked the door and it finally opened, what they saw inside left them beyond baffled.
Vedalken engineers were petrified against the walls of what looked like a complex control center inside the arena's walls.
"What kind of joke is this?" Musa asked with whatever strength he had left.
"We aren't in Phyrexian territory aren't we?" Asked Hiro to the scared engineers.
"We were delivering a service, w-we only follow orders to get our paycheck. P-please don't hurt us" Begged one of the technicians on her knees. Ytsix took a console from her shaking hands and looked at the files.
"This whole place is a simulation! We are in the middle of nowhere" Said Ytsix "Someone tricked all of us into coming here, explain this before we break you on our way out of here"
"We are n-not sure either, we were ordered to get the best mages we could here and put them against each other to filter them out. Next thing we knew we had blank paychecks to our names" Responded the engineer "You can leave, there are escape vehicles outside of the north limit of the 'arena'. Just let us escape too and remove our identities"
Confused, angered was not enough to describe what the mages were feeling. But whatever was behind this project had too much resources and was using them for things too shady to be good...
I think you misunderstood something, Kahori is Nahiri-Kor melded.
Finaly, we reached the end of the First Phyrexian Arena Experiment! This was a hell of a challenge to judge but we made it.

@korandangels Kahori was the name of the beast you created, wasn't it?
(Are the prizes random random, or just of your choice?)
And yeah, the favorites aren't really random, I just go into your page and like the things that I find the best designed xD.
