  • @TenebrisNemo You’re definitely a master chef! I’m love all your food cards that you’ve made so far!

Weird idea I had. I think this is how the wording would work, but not entirely sure if I'm being honest.

Combining the concepts of bestow with food is a little weird mechanics-wise. I think this would be the best way of doing it, but other ways of doing it could be:
-{2}, {t}, Sacrifice Pumpkin Possessor or enchanted creature: ...
-{2}, {t}, Sacrifice Pumpkin Possessor: You gain 3
life. [You only sacrifice Pumpkin Possessor, the enchanted creature remains]

    Small edit:
-Changed set symbol to Throne of Eldraine
    -Corrected artist's name

    Alrighty, JUDGING TIME!

Before we get into the Top 3, We've got a HONORABLE MENTION!

The Honorable Mention goes to Thallid Evolutionary by @Bnew07!

    image

I love the flavor on this card, as canonically Saprolings are created by Thallids as food sources. As for function, this card is a pretty good token generator that comes on a 4/4 body that you can sacrifice in a pinch, so overall pretty good card! You get 1 favorite and 1/4 of a Circuit Point!

On to the top cards of this contest!

In 3rd Place, we have @TheCenterOfTheUniverse with Bulb Champion!

    image

This is a nice little bulby boi who makes good use of the mandatory sacrifice trigger by turning into kind of a makeshift combat trick. At any point, you can just sacrifice him and make one of your guys survive some damage, all while gaining life yourself! Nice card! You get 3 favorites and 1/2 of a Circuit Point

In 2nd Place, we have @Theran_Baggins with Reaped Reaper!

    image

The ability to make your foods into fliers is powerful, but it's balanced by only being able to do it once per death. And if you put this into a sacrifice deck that also has some foods, it could get really out of hand really quick. Nice work! You get 4 favorites and 3/4 of a Circuit Point!

And, in 1st Place, we have @AtlasXII with Kukurba, the Pumpkin King!

    image

Wow. This card does everything you want a black-red food creature to do, it comes down on turn 4 and optimally makes 2 foods and survives combat. And it can ping opponents or creatures and still gain you some life from your food. Overall, this is a really good card! You get 5 favorites and 1 full Circuit Point!

Congrats to all the winners! I have followed all of you who placed, and I will be posting in the Hall of Fame later on. Make sure to either PM me or comment on this contest which cards you want favorited.
  • @Benew07, @Theran_Baggins, @AtlasXII, you guys won, can you please tell me what cards you want favorited?
  • @Aggroman15
Clarifying (I'm new to the contests here), so by "X favorites," you mean pick X cards and you'll favorite them? If that's the case, do we pick our own cards? Cards we like, but not made by us? Any card?
  • @Theran_Baggins Yes, you choose 4 cards for me to favorite. For the most part people use them to get favorites on their own cards, but I suppose that you could have me favorite someone else's if you want.

    Oh, ok, got it

    1. Threat Eater (by @TenebrisNemo)

Really love this card, so wanted to pass on one of my favorites to them.
    2. Wall's Esquire
    https://mtgcardsmith.com/view/walls-eggsquire
Was the first card I made in a long time, and the unexpected support for it allowed me to be self-confident enough to feel comfortable entering in contests like this one.
    3. Peppino, Bold Archduke
    https://mtgcardsmith.com/view/peppino-bold-archduke-1
The second I saw this contest, I knew I needed to make a card based around the art of Giuseppe Arcimboldo. Out of my 6 entries, the way this one turned out is probably my personal favorite.
    4. Madallain, Beloved Regal

Well, we have a whole banquet of new culinary creatures, thought it would appropriate to have a host

Thanks again for hosting the contest, making these cards was fun (and a good learning experience).
