{I say we start over but with a new rule/principle: your word must follow proper English language sentence conventions. It’s ok to “bend” this rule, but try not to intentionally break it.}
I feel like, if the sentence punctuation doesn't work, i.e. we get to a period and it's still the middle of a sentence, the next contributor can add in another blank (and the next person can do the same, and so on), but everyone has to try to round out the sentence in as few words as possible once a period is reached (you can't just keep going and putting "and"...).

{And we could also rule that the person who wrote the blanks would NOT be allowed to fill in any words - except the first one in any sentence}
Let's try something simple...
At _ _ _ _ _ _, _ _ _ _ _ _ _, _ _ _ _ _ _ _.
[Cardname] _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _.
I.e.

At the _ _ _ _ _, _ _ _ _ _ _ _, _ _ _ _ _ _ _.
[Cardname] _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _.
~~~~
OR
At _ _ _ _ _ _, _ _ _ _ _ _ _, _ _ _ _ _ _ _.
[Cardname] has _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _.
