I think that card should be considered unset
...What? No literally, the card is unset, only unset cards can interact with stuff outside of the game.
Aren't sideboarded cards considered 'inside the game'?
The card Masterminds Acquisition allows you to pull cards you own from outside the game. Also, when enacting wish, in tournament style, you may only access you side board, but in casual, you have access to your entire collection.
Hope this helps.
Pulling cards from outside the game originated back in Judgement, and, for a long time, it had only appeared two other times (Future Site and Eldritch Moon). Now, most likely to balance out best of one standard on MtGA, WotC has been greatly increased that number of cards that deal with the sideboard. Two recent examples are the standard all-star Fae of Wishes and the new oppressive modern staple, Karn the Great Creator.
Edit: I just did some quick research and realized that the original printing of an effect like this came from Arabian Nights. Rise of the Eldrazi and Dissension also featured these effects.

5, Tap, Exile Ring of Ma'rûf: The next time you would draw a card this turn, instead choose a card you own from outside the game and put it into your hand.
