Janti shivered at the thought of exile. The whole thing was quite the bad affair, and Janti did love his people. But he had made his choice already. And he was not going to change his mind. He needed to talk to someone about this. The only problem being that almost no one even knew of the law. Some of his own citizens were oblivious. He knew that he thought bad on an empty stomach, and so he decided to go eat some lunch.
After lunch, Janti decided to take a walk.Hoping for some peace, some quiet, and someone. He did find someone. A familliar face.
“Ah, my good fox friend. You know, the other day, my friend told me something.Apparently, a ha’pent is only a quarter of a penny. Now, isn’t that odd?”
“Yes good sir, that is quite strange.”
“So, why don’t you pay me my money back, and we can smooth this whole thing out. ‘Kay?”
Janti decided to go for the groin instead.
“Ahh!”The man groaned in pain.
A quick back hand and the merchant decided to go bother someone else.
“Sir, we are here to request your relief of your fee to the law for Public Assault.”A guard told Janti as he began to leave the scene.
“Actually sir, I have not broken the law.”
“And why is that?”
“That man was committing the act of Extortion Of Nobility.”Janti told the man, as he had decided to read up on the law here before he committed another act.
“Well, fine. How can we tell that you are nobility?”
Janti picked up the gifting sword, inside of its sheath of course, and showed it to the man.
Janti would treasure that look for the rest of his life.
“Now, I have my stroll to attend to.Go and bother someone else.”
And with that, Janti was off into the city, not noticing the eyes on him, being distracted at a certain thought.
Amos had locked himself in his room, very much nervous. "Don't be so nervous, Amos." His father reassured him, for about the hundredth time. It wasn't about the tournament, he was fine about that. It was Zurel's recent announcement that had made him unbearably uneasy. Zurel announced that, due to the amount of contenders, one would have to be eliminated. Amos did not want to fail his mission, given to him from Xian itself. Before the announcement, the Golden Ram (a betting house) had been full of people. Now, it was even more so, with people changing their bets and betting on who will be eliminated alike. An unfortunate animal would've been trampled to death quickly in there. Amos hoped that Zurel wasn't basing the elimination off of the House.

"A king is being hunted, so goes to openly partake in a competition while getting into fights with hapless vendors and random citizens. I half-think Janti is no more of a king than myself. If so, things could get interesting... Neviad, see what you can find out about his backstory. This could be some leverage."
One must not be seen with that of a non-kitsune race, or else exile is legalized for the target. A kitsune must never kill one of it's descendants. Heirship always goes to the closest to the deceased. Royalty must be faithful, even in death.
We send to inform you of a decision made. We shall give you 5 days to win this tournament, otherwise, you shall be exiled as a disgrace of our people. By nine tails, The Council.
No problem. His method is more talking with people than sneaking around on rooftops. After all, who is going to be up there to give him the information.
Zurel stood upon a podium, two guards, Ella, a small girl, and a man in scouting gear standing behind him. Zurel's hair blew in the wind, Ella's tied back, the guards standing around Zurel held a soft pillow like platter holding some insignia. They seemed to be waiting for a crowd to gather to a sufficient size. The contestants were scattered throughout the growing crowd, worrying about the incoming elimination.
As the crowd finalizes it's size, Zurel raises his arms and shouts.
"Welcome Everyone! Welcome to the Tournament of Royals! Today we will introduce the contestants for the kingship!.
The crowd shuffles anxiously, seemingly worried about something.
"Don't worry, my friends. This will not be like last time." Zurel stated. Foreigners and younger children chatter about what last time was. "But now it is time to introduce our contestants! 10 of the 11 people that have arrived will be called up, this has been discussed greatly and we believe these 10 chosen will be the best candidates to take up the challenge of the kingship. When I call a contestants name, if you would, come stand up and take a bow to what might be your people someday."
The crowd's excitement grew, and even though they feared they might be eliminated, the contestants could barely hold their excitement in themselves.
@Scaccogaming "Our first contestant" Zurel yelled to the crowd "A knight, once most devoted to her king, now, the head of her land, Clarissa of Varin! And her advisor, a mysterious and magical figure, the Witch Bellatrix!" The crowd shuffled nervously. A witch? Why would anyone trust a witch? This seemed to be the collective thought gripping the crowd, yet they still cheered as the two women walked up to the podium and bowed for the kingdom.
@KorandAngels "Our next contestant, from deserts far aways" Zurel continued after Clarissa and Bellatrix left the spotlight. "Abdiel! A sultan from the arid desert! Advised by his wise friend and parter, the Djinn, Tebdul!" The crowd cheered, excited for this foreign magic, some slightly hoping this duo makes it through the tournament. Abdiel walked up to the podium, with Tebdul levitating behind him, Abdiel takes a deep bow, with his advisor following suit.
@Tommia "Our next contestant hails from Riyin itself, the noble elf Enlow! along with him is his advisor, the Warlock Vencha!" The crowd shuffled again, the same feeling as when Bellatrix was announced hung in the air again. The kingdom felt that if they were to fall, it would be soon, and it would be because of these dangerous figures. Enlow walked up to the podium with Vencha behind him, they bowed regally to the crowd.
@Spellpiper2213 "Our next contestant comes from the duchy of Haret, the noble lady Zairi! She has studied magic and come to this tournament for the sake of her country, and she is assisted by the Druid Tehanu!. The crowd cheered for them the loudest out of all the contestants yet, they saw Zairi as trustable, something similar to kings and queens of this kingdom itself. The noble and the druid walked up to the podium, Zairi took a deep bow, Tehanu giving a slightly less enthusiastic bow.
@Abu_Jafar "Our next contestant may be a slightly unusual one, but he is royalty indeed and he will be able to rule the kingdom just as much as any of these other contestants." The crowd didn't know how to take this, but decided to just continue listening. "The leader of the town of Blackleth, the Scarecrow King, Harveth!" The crowd's hearts sunk, a witch, a warlock and now a scarecrow? How did this happen? "He is advised by his assistant and medic, Adam!" The crowd cheered halfheartedly as the scarecrow and the healer made their way up to the podium, each taking a bow in turn.
These are the first 5 of the 10 contestants to get in. I need to take an hour or two break so I don't lose all interest in writing the rest of these. I should have the next 5 done by tomorrow.
