Janti reluctantly handed over the 15 pennies, and then decided to pay him another 5. "And why have you given me 5 more than I needed? Are you feeling guilty?Or just stupid?"Tenguin asked. The other guards burst out laughing. And just for a second, lost their concentration. "You may tell me that I was guilty, but call me stupid and you shall pay."Janti growled. "And tell me what powers you think you have over me fox?" "Oh, nothing good sir." "Good.Release her boys.Boys?" And then came the crowd. Or more accurately, the mob.
It was almost high noon, when the ship bringing the lion effigy of Varin docked in the respective port. A huge war ship, as the bridge was set up, a pair of knights in full plate armor scouted the area. Then, a woman with a similar armor hopped off the ship. Soon enough, a guardsman approached the trio, looking at the woman and smirking. "Took you long enough, Clarissa, my Queen. I was getting worried, was the trip comfortable?"
The woman smiled gently after lifting up her dark long hair, moved by the sea breeze. "It is nice to see you again, Bellatrix. Please, bring me the news..." As Clarissa commanded, the guardsman's figure started to shift, surrounded by a thick ink-like substance, the figure now standing in his stead was the one of a masked wizard. "Well, then. My liege, please follow me. You did bring your invitation, didn't you?"
Clarissa sighed, then picked her invitation letter from inside a pocket in her chestplate. "You dare question my preparations? Mhh... nevermind." She looked around, then asked, in an inquisitorial manner: "Did you manage to find any information about the other contestants?"
Bellatrix giggled a bit, taking the form of the guard again, as he/she/it proceeded to escort the woman, and her loyal knights. "Yes...and no. I was not able to gather informations about every single rival, but there are actually dangerous people around here... For example, you should watch out for Lord Derian. He's a famous outlaw, a pirate captain, to be exact. Playing the role of one of those scurvy-filled furballs was NOT an experience I'd like to repeat..."
Clarissa shook her head "You did good, please continue on. Who do you think are the most dangerous, of all my rivals?"
Bellatrix mumbled a bit, then looked straight at the self proclaimed queen: "Aside that Derian guy, probably Lord Enlow and Lady Lyse. I couldn't find much information about them, but this is exactly why we should be careful, my queen..."
The woman then put a hand on the shapeshifter's shoulder, smirking in a gentle, yet subtle smile. "You did very good, Bellatrix. Please, keep giving me all the info you can find. Knowledge is power... But..." She suddenly stopped, looking around the city. "You do are right. I might need some...help...to deal with them. Nevertheless, in the meantime, we should probably head towards the palace. Make way."
Bellatrix nodded silently. "Yes, My Queen. Please, follow me."
Tenguin was a little surprised, but did not seem phased. He just shouted one word: "Prohibere!*"and all the weapons flew out of their hands. They all became suspended in the air, including Janti. "It's such a simple spell, really. Probably the most easiest to cast."
Janti did not struggle, as this is what his father taught him years ago. Instead, he focused. And, with the gifting sword at his side, he answered Tenguin's earlier question. "I gave you those 5 extra pennies as a gift." And Janti was gone, with 10 pennies in his place. "Stupid foxes."Tenguin muttered.
After Harveth had signed up for the contest, he decided to take a walk through the city. Everywhere he went he received odd looks from bystanders and heard them whispering, he knew it was about him, but he did not care. After going through the markets and buying a few things, he decided to head back to where he was staying. While taking a shortcut through some back alleyways, he was confronted by a group of thieves, three in total.
"Give us your coin and goods, or we will cut off yer head!", yelled the first thieve.
"Go ahead, try me.", said Harveth, quietly.
"We will give you five seconds..." said the second thieve
"Try me!" yelled Harveth.
"Alright, I'm done with this weirdo!"
The first thieve unsheathed is sword and cut Harveth's head clean off. The thieves were confused when straw came flying out, then they froze in fear when Harveth stood up and went to go grab his head. Not knowing what to do the thieves went to attack Harveth, who then proceeded to pull out his scythe and beat then individually with it's blunt end. The second and third thieve fled, with the first trapped in a corner. Harveth quietly went and whispered to the thieve "Next time you go to rob someone, make sure they're actually alive." Which then caused the thieve to run away screaming in terror. After the fight had ended, Adam came running down the alleyway.
"What appendages did you lose this time?" Asked Adam.
"Just my head." Harveth replied.
"Come on then let's head back to the palace so I can stitch you up. Try not to lose anymore body parts before the contest."
