Exiled Enchantments

Hello everyone, welcome to me first forum thing. While it says challenge, it's just something that kind of relates to challenge. This is the set the challenge is for:https://mtgcardsmith.com/account/sets/52728
What I want for the set is to have a mechanic where you exile cards from anywhere facedown, then turn them into enchantments or something of the sort. Any sort of feedback is appreciated, post whatever you want, as long as it's on topic. This is more of a brainstorm thing than anything.

  • Since you've posted the in-account link (which won't work for anybody other than you) then here's link for everybody:

On the mechanic, a few questions:

     - Is the idea that you exile a card face down, and then it's put onto the battlefield but it's an enchantment instead of its other types?

     - What's the purpose of exiling face down instead of just exiling? Presumably that's there for a reason, but I'm not sure what.

     - Is it instead supposed to be that the cards stay face down when they're put onto the battlefield? If so, would they just be the generic 2/2 creatures (but with the enchantment card type added on) or would they be being given different traits?

I'm just trying to get a clearer idea of what you might mean, be planning, or want from the description you've given.
  • The goal is to make just any sort of card an enchantment in some way, and by enchantment I probably should have said Aura.
  • @10114209 So, something a bit like the bestow mechanic that gets applied to other cards (not much like it, to be honest, but you know what I mean)? Would the card-turned-into-an-enchantment do something based on its own abilities as an aura, or would it just give some sort of power / toughness modification, or would it vary between cards?
  • Honestly @MemoryHead, that's why I made this thread. I currently have only the base idea for what the mechanic is.
  • @10114209 Ah, okay. I'll try to run up a few test ideas for it when I've got a little more time.
