    Themes:

    Science(?)
    Madness(?)
TRUTH HURTS. As Lazav said, "What they don't know will DEFINITELY hurt them."
  • Most likely. I believe there should be something about erratic opinions (that most creatures inhabiting this set would believe) versus informed science. So, maybe the theme can be, "TRUTH HURTS A LOT."
  • So like how Galileo was shut down by the church?
  • I think that we should have each color have a theme in science, and a theme in religion. Example:
    Red:Astronomy and Faith.
  • Remember, just an example.
  • I have an idea for a mechanic! I've liked it for a while, but it needs some straightening out.

    Faithful Squire   1gg
    Human Knight

When FS enters the battlefield, remember a knight(Exile a knight you control. It becomes remembered.)

Whenever a knight you control attacks, you may sacrifice FS. If you do, that knight gets +X/+X until end of turn, where X is a remembered knights cmc.
    2/2
  • Yes. Lets fill in the blanks:

[What is this set about/based around?]
    -------------------
    Mechanic overview:

[What do the mechanics represent in the set/story?]

    ------------------
    Mechanics:

[Mechanics that will be present, of course.]

Of course, alterations can be made to the wording to fit any other spell types.

    ------------------
    The Colors

[What do the colors represent? Example below.]

    - White: Benevolent at best, Demanding at worst.
    ------------------
    Race and Class Color Organization:

[What is the races that appear most commonly in the races of this set? Example below.]

    - White: Angels, Spirits, Aven / Clerics, Archers, Soldiers, Knights.

Monstrous races are obviously included, though not listed, because they are not sentient. Humans and Wizards are universal colors, meaning they can be whatever color.
    ------------------
    Relations Between Geography and Races

[Pretty self explanatory here. Geography and where the races live, their attitude toward each other, and attitude toward outsiders of their area.]

  • Interesting mechanic... I like it a lot! But not to burst your bubble, isn't this set mainly about science? That seems like a mechanic in a place where ancestors and famous knights are remembered (Home of Legends [HOL])
  • Okay...step 1...

This set is based around knowledge, religion(?), and traditions(changing).
  • Tradition vs Science.

    With a little addition:

This set is based around knowledge, [both it's growth and depletion], religion, and traditions (changing).

  • Uhhh........ Yeah

    Set name idea: Eternal Enlightenment

    Here's an Idea:

    Returned Sprite {1}{b}{g}

    Creature - Faerie Wizard {Uncommon}

    Flying

If you control another creature with flying, you may pay {b}{b}{g} to Enlighten 2

If Returned Sprite is Enlightened, creatures you control with flying get +1/+1

    1/2

  • Eternal Enlightenment...I think your really on to something @SNAPcreator7!
  • Yeah. Basically the same thing, @LordTachanka123

@SNAPcreator7 : Great name! I agree! However, we have to work on a lot of stuff before the cards... as shown above...
  • Also idea for the set: maybe the enlightenment is like joining an army? Maybe there could be a heaven/hell enlightenment situation?

    Step 2:
Mechanics should represent both science and tradition/religion.

  • Yep, and maybe even Vehicles could be enlightened?
  • I can't see what your trying to show us. Can you post a link?
  • I disagree SNAP, because of how close that would land with some christians. I wouldn't be offended, and I doubt @The-DM would be, but...
  • I know, I didn't mean for it to be like that, just so it is like a good v evil situation where both sides could be enlightened.

@LordTachanka123 Then again, they aren't sentient. Only sentient things can learn. There can, however, be a cycle of mono-colored artifact constructs. I'll make them, maybe?

@SNAPcreator7 As a Christian, I would not be offended, because that's basically the religion. Fighting for your soul in times of good and evil. However, I don't think we can because other the other smiths out there... Flying tribal will be interesting, though. A cycle for faeries?
  • Maybe Enlightenment could even make Artifacts have some sentience?
  • Yea! Or maybe an enlightened creature crewing a vehicle could make the vehicle enlightened...
  • Would someone post what we have so far on story and stuff?
  • I want to make a cycle of 5 scientists, and 5 anti-scientists.
  • Ok, I'll post all ideas and we can choose.
  • @LordTachanka123 & @SNAPcreator7 : Here's the thing: Vehicles can't be enlightened, even if they are enlightened. Vehicles are dependent on something or someone to make it do things (represented by the crew mechanic). Sure, there can be enlightened artifact creatures, just they can't be anything that's piloted. If there are any loopholes, then maybe?
