The Forbidden Way to Gamble

In all of WOTC’s history with Magic:  The Gathering, there is one peculiarly infamous mechanic, even more infamous than Storm: Ante.

This mechanic was made ILLEGAL in many countries around the world, as it encouraged child gambling (more so than the booster packs did).

So of course as a sane person myself, I’ve decided to challenge you all to make a card with this forbidden mechanic!


Rules:

  1. The card must incorporate Ante in some form.

  2. The first line of text MUST read “Remove CARDNAME from your deck if you’re not playing for ante.”  Cards who do not follow this rule are DISQUALIFIED.

  3. You can post up to 3 cards, and 1 of those cards can be old.

  4. The Deadline is May 29th!


Notes:  Since trying to balance a card that uses a fundamentally busted mechanic is nigh impossible, balancing will be judged much less than the flavor and the clarity of the card.
